I've gone to a few Happy Lemon spots in California already but this one is by far the cutest one I've entered. I normally stick to the classic milk tea serious that's on their menu, which I ordered boba milk tea with puff cream and let me tell you, a yummy not so sweet, very light drink. Their boba by the way tasted very fresh (soft, just right). My second drink that I ordered that's also show on the picture is called the strawberry shortcake smoothie. I usually order the Okinawa Roasted Milk Tea with boba, but I decided to try something different that day and went for the Mango Sago. It was good--the balance of mango and sago was just right, and the sweetness was perfect. However, there were a few chopped pieces that included part of the mango seed. I only noticed it once I started chewing, and it tasted bitter. Hopefully next time they can be more careful when chopping the mango to avoid including any seed pieces. read more

Compared to other happy lemons, this location isn't as good. They don't put as much toppings and the flavor profile is not the same. For $7-8 each drink, it should not taste diluted. They also changed their cups to paper ones where you can't see what's in your drink. I would say if you're a happy lemon fan, go to a different location. I've tried the Mango Yakult Smoothie at their Concord location and loved it but in this location, it seems as though they didn't add any ice or it was somehow forgotten. Along with my cousins' smoothies, it seemed as if ice was not added either. Though since it was their opening weekend, I figured this was due to the high volume of orders. (I ended up coming back on Easter and ordered their chocolate smoothie w/ Tiramisu foam & it had a great ice-y consistency.) They told me they closed the eggpuffs machine and couldn't make anymore. The second time on 3/13/25, I preordered the eggpuffs for pick-up, drove 20 min. to get there, just for them to tell me they closed the eggpuffs machine a FULL hour before closing. We were able to get some free drinks during their inaugural opening. And you bet I got some of that Mango Yakult Smoothie. It proper sweetness and coupled with Yakult flavor just quenches my thirst. Pretty good overall. Menu is a bit overwhelming so I chose from their top 10 list. Went with boba milk tea with puff cream. Had no idea what puff cream meant but sounded appealing. There was no line and I customized the sugar to be 50% sweet. Drink was ready quickly and looked tasty. Tried it and it was still a tad too sweet for me. Also I tasted some of the puff cream which kind of had a salty taste to it. It was okay but definitely feels more like an addition for aesthetic purposes purely. The boba was okay; some pieces were the perfect texture while other pieces were super hard. Overall I would return but would reduce sweetness to 25% and skip the puff cream. She kept complaining outloud about the job and how much she hates cute stuff. It was under 50 degrees outside and the door was open which made location even colder. Came in on opening weekend and took advantage of the BOGO plus enjoyed their egg puffs. The space is spacious with plenty of tables and chairs to the left of the register along the wall and some bar seating on the right, by the door. They were busy in the afternoon, with a line out the door. Staff were very friendly and efficiently moved the line quickly. My drinks tasted great, ordered an ube milk tea with puff cream and boba and strawberry shortcake smoothie with boba (both from their top 10 drink menu). The egg puffs were great too. I am only leaving a 3 star because I want Happy Lemon to survive out here and improve. However my actual score would be 2 stars. My wife and I have been three times. The first time was great (opening day) and ordered puff cream milk tea and a regular milk tea with boba and one matcha bubble waffle. The puff cream was great and the matcha bubble waffle tasted like every other Happy Lemon which is good. However the milk tea was very light and tasted very watery. The second time I ordered a Taro milk type of drink and it was absolutely horrendous. It did not taste like Taro and again was watery. Why aren't any of there non puff cream taste creamy? They were kind enough to replace the drink with the puff cream milk tea which was better. The third time ordered a milk tea with boba and a matcha bubble waffle. The drink was horrible again watery and the matcha bubble waffle was not sweet enough and the texture was off. Yall need to do better. This is a chain and it should consistently taste like every other happy lemon. There should not be such a drastic drop off between this location and any other location in the Bay Area. read more
