I was in Lynnwood for the day and wanted to try a new business out for lashes since mine was booked out. I called and confirmed an appointment with Happy Nails for the following day. When I went in, they took me to a back room with a make shift bed and instructed me to lay down. No one had their masks on and they kept pulling mine down for my lashes. As long as the lashes looked like quality lashes, I wouldn't have minded the makeshift setup. I showed the tech a picture of how I like my lashes and explained I wanted them to look very natural. She asked medium or long so I chose medium. When my lashes were on, I looked in the mirror and politely said these did not look natural. They were almost touching my eyelid. I asked if we could trim them. We proceeded to trim them twice to a length I was more comfortable with, but they now looked uneven. She told me I should've asked for short and I explained I was only offered medium/ long. The part that had me most upset is these were not individual lashes... they were clusters that you can buy from the drug store. These aren't recommended as the weight can cause damage to your natural eyelashes. I see Ulta puts these on clients for $30 and she tried to charge me $140. I explained that this isn't what I was looking to receive and she offered me $100 for the day and a discount going forward. DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES DONE HERE. I highly recommend Fabulash in Kirkland for the experience, the health of your eyelashes, and the cost ($90 for full set, $70 for fill-ins). read more

I try my best to avoid writing any sad reviews, but I am trying to save the next gal/guy from what I went through. I want to clarify that there are two nail technicians I've met. The first one was welcoming, asked questions to figure out the needs/wants of customers, and kind. I was so pleased to leave the first appointment that I decided to go back again. The 2nd nail technician I encountered was completely the opposite. She was pushy, rushing, and heavily sighing throughout my experience. It seemed like everything I was saying wasn't being considered, and she would interrupt me before I could finish talking. This got to me the most. When buffing my fingers, she was so rough and hurt the sides of my cuticles and then laughed about it... This happened 3 more times. When I wash my hands later that evening, my fingers were burning. I've gotten acrylics so many times in the past and this has NEVER happened. Yes, my fingers may be sore, but never have I been scraped by the electric buffing tool. Then, while my hand was in the shellac machine, she told me to take it out 10-15 seconds earlier. She was aggressively tapping her foot while waiting for my hands in the shellac machine. I'm guessing it's cause she just wanted me out of there. I was shocked by her treatment because I was the only customer there. There are other negative details about my visit that I don't want to mention - in short, I would recommend going to other competing nail salons! =) Despite this experience, I still tipped 25%. Sadly this location has gone down with service this year. The owner opened another location in Lynnwood and it's not the same without her at the Shoreline location. I've had several disappointing services with my nail appointments for example being cut 3 times because the technician was busy singing and talking to other technicians during service, shellac under my nails and over my cuticles. I hope it gets better and the employees put in the same passion as the owner, Jessica, did when she was running this shop. Right now, I'll get my nails done elsewhere. I was so disappointed when I got into the car, so I went back inside to see what they could do to fix it. My cuticles has been painted over and their solution was to file my skin with the dremel after I said that it hurt they moved to file my skin with a nail file as if that was better. She then added another top coat, leaving the nails sloppier and too thick. In the days and week to follow I had so many hang nails. Save your money and time don't go. read more

The pedicure was definitely basic. The lady seemed more interested in the tv show then doing a good job and making sure I was comfortable. I love hot water don't get me wrong but the water was wayyyyy too hot. And at the end she burnt me with the hot stone and giggled when I said it was too hot. Not one time did she ask if I was going ok or if I needed anything. She was all about trying to get me to spend more money tho. She kept asking me if I wanted a manicure and I finally said yes but I can't have any polish because of my job. She gave me a half ass manicure and charged me $20. TLDR: not exactly a bad experience but probably won't come again? Over priced. Pedicure is good though. I wanted to treat myself to a mani pedi after work and I figured I'd try a nail place near the area. It's very small when you enter so there were only about 2-3 other customers and it felt like it was really crowded. Anyway, I asked for a shellac mani & a pedi. Small things happened during my experience which made me feel like they were rushing me but I didn't make a big deal about it because it felt like not that big of a deal. The guy who was supposed to do my nails had me sit down so he could use the tool to shave down my previous nail color. I wasn't even done looking at the other colors available! LOL Once the actual mani/pedi was happening, it was pretty good overall. The workers don't seem to make conversations with their customers (which I don't mind) but the entire atmosphere just had a weird vibe to me. Shellac Manicure: The guy seemed to rush in filing my nails and then ended up filing them too close to the skin so my fingertips are tender due to the filing. My nails aren't evenly shaped so that was a little disappointing. In addition to this, I noticed that the pink "finger holders" to hold the acetone cotton balls to your nails aren't thrown away or cleaned and are just reused. Not sure if that's a sanitary issue, but it seemed questionable to me. He did cut me a little while he was trying to cut a hang nail(which he caused from filing my nails). The nail polish seems a bit uneven on some of my nails(there's bumps) but overall, it's okay. Pedicure: One of the girls did my pedicure and it was great. Her first thing to ask me if the water was an okay temperature which I appreciate because most of the time, it's too hot. Honestly, I have no complaints from her service. She took her time on my pedicure & did a great job of removing the calluses from my heels. If I could just have that girl take care of my mani as well, I probably would have given another star. My only complaint with her was that after she was scraping my calluses, it looked like she only rinsed the scraper and not actually cleaned it (I might have just not seen her actually clean it so don't take my word for this). In the end when I went to pay, it felt like I was paying for way more than what I received. Beware that getting shellac COLOR you pay $15 on top of the regular price. Despite having the Shoreline address in Yelp, they state this page is for the Lynnwood location in their review comments? We've been to the Shoreline location before and enjoyed it. We didn't want to travel so we asked a few minutes later to cancel the appointments in Lynnwood. Turns out the $60 deposit is completely non refundable, despite the reservation not existing minutes ago. The confusion with the locations and shady non-refundable deposit will probably prevent us from ever coming back, but maybe it's just a Yelp problem... read more

I was really disappointed here. I am a local and decided to give them another shot wanting to support a neighborhood place. I will note im not sure when this particular person took over- i do know its under newer ownership. I was greeting immediately and told to look at the white book. I asked about the mermaid option on the counter and she replied as though she didn't feel like doing it (something about look at white book only). I said you don't do the mermaid? She told me it was more- which I said ok. When she did my acrylic they were done very thin and were shaped sideways. I asked her to fix it and she argued with me. When I notice a nail lifting she argued with me again that it wasn't. I literally stuck my nail between the nail and acrylic and told her id like it fixed (i would pay of course) She proceeded to remove my natural nail and leave acrylic. I won't be surprised when it breaks. Now the pedicure. I asked for the deluxe- which the menu showed I could select a scent. When I asked for it she said oh no. We changed it. It comes with soak now not that. Only the more expensive one. So I declined and asked for the basic. She was clearly irritated and then I was given the worse pedicure of my life. Cold water, very short sugar scrub and lotion was put on with wet floppy gloves. No massage or anything. Lastly the shellac on my toes was not soaked off, she used a sander (idk what there called) Which I know to be hard on the nails. She also did a half job on my cuticles spending no time on them. Upon walking in I'm not even greeted but awkwardly questioned by some sassy twit sitting on the floor who asks me "what are you so confused about?" I walked into a disgusting orange nail salon that use to be calming light purples with tropical pics on the wall of calming ocean blues and now it looks small and dingy...so yeah I was confused for a sec. I've been coming here for years and I loved Michelle. She is/was the best and my nails are suffering with out her because I don't know where she is now. I was a regular at this spot and all it took was a rude new owner not knowing her clientele to lose a long time customer. ***update***9/15/21*** Instead of apologizing for the horrendous service I received when I went into what use to be my nail salon for over 4 years (you know that's a long time ladies!!!) the new owner decided to call me "hateful" and DM me. She was literally sitting on the floor legs crossed like a child when I walked in and never offered a greeting or even said hello. So along with my previous review here's the message she sent me...and mind you there were two people in there, a blonde doing nails on a customer and the woman on the floor. No receptionist, or reception table when I went in, this place is so small I don't see how they could be observing social distancing requirements with there grand reception table in a shop that's all of 10x16. Get over yourself girl and change the name, you are NOT happy nail and don't even try to piggy back off their good reputation! Owners Reply: As humans, we like and dislike different colors. Therefore, we cannot accommodate changes in color because of one persons' preference and opinion. We do have a reception table with a receptionist, so it's very unlikely, if not impossible, that you weren't greeted with at least a hello. But most importantly, your use of aggressively hurtful choice of words shows hatefulness. As individuals, we do not tolerate hate in any fashion, especially in our salon. See those three fingers with reddish cuticles? I bled several times while I was there. I'm surprised that I didn't just get up and leave. I couldn't seem to get the nail artist to understand that cutting into my cuticle was not the way to go. She kept scraping and cutting, and scraping some more to the point where I had to finally recoil my hand and tell her that it really really hurt. The pedicure I got was fine. It hurt somewhat but nothing too crazy. I had to tell the person doing it to be gentle a few times, and he didn't seem to listen either but my feet are more immune to pain than my hands are. Overall, would not recommend. Would not go back. Ever. The outcome was mediocre. I've had better mani-pedis. The pain made this experience completely not worth it. I'd have been ok with a mediocre outcome, had it not caused me that much discomfort. Washing my hands have stung for the last few days. I can't believe I paid for this. read more

I was not pleased with the service here at all. I surely won't be returning either. My mom is a frequent customer so I took her advice thinking I'd have a good experience. For one, they overbooked my family and I. We scheduled this appointment a week in advance. My mom called and scheduled 4 pedis and 3 mani's. Once we arrived (two minutes late) they acted as if they didn't know of our scheduled appointments. My pedicure was mediocre but to top things off she cut my cuticles. I literally had to point out that I was bleeding and said "sorry" and used a cotton ball to soak up the blood. I also asked for my French tip manicure line to be straight across and she did them curved. I also got a shellac manicure where I also had my cuticles cut. I constantly had to tell her to get the polish to cover my nails in the corners. The thing that upset me the most was the fact that I wasn't offered any money off of my total considering she cut me twice. Then when I called I hat to explain myself 4 times on how I had a unpleasant experience all together and there wasn't any money offered off. Really not impressed. First.. I called several times to schedule a appointment. No answer, phone just has a busy signal. Yelp states they except walk ins so I walked in. I asked for removal and dip, lady refused to do my nails with dip if I choose a long length because she felt it utilized too much of her product and mynails wouldn't last long. I have had my nails for months with dip. My nails lasted for a long time. However, she wouldn't listen and kept telling me what she feels. She kept insisting she doesn't want to use a lot of her dip on long nails, and acrylic is the best option. If I don't choose that way she won't do my nails. I was a bit annoyed and didn't feel like arguing. I really needed my nails to be done for a last minute event tomorrow morning and I didn't live in the area. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!!! The service i paid for was an Acrylic Manicure. When i walked in i had a previous set of acrylics on and instead of doing a fill as i had asked for, my technician began just ripping off my last set with his fingers!! I was shocked!! He didn't soak them in acetone as he should have. Instead he ripped off half my nails to give me an entire new set. Then he filed the top half of my nail just to even out the nail he tore off! The rest of the service was absolutely unacceptable. He cut my cuticle multiple times until i bled, didn't even use proper tools to perform the manicure, which resulted in a sloppy outcome and my fingers and nails very sore and in pain. He also didn't replace his tools in between clients! Which results in an extremely unsanitary environment. I firmly believe this salon should be reported to State Board and shut down. I went with two of my sisters and they got the exact same treatment by their nail technicians!! They refused to give us a comp service or even a discount for our poor experiences. Please, don't go to this salon, you will be so disappointed by the result. And it's possible that you could contract and infection by their blatant disregard for sanitation!! read more
