Beef arepa love the sauce on top whole thing delicious

Food is great, owner is friendly.... restaurant is clean....food is actually more than great it's amazing!!!!! I wish this restaurant was open more often because it's so hard for me to get there due to my work schedule because I would love to eat here more often.

My husband and I went during reatauraunt week midday. It wasn't busy and we found easy street parking. This was our first time here and the food did not disappoint. We started with plantains and yuca fries, yum!I had the chicken arepa and he had the shrimp. Both were very filling and delicious. You have the option of 3 fresh sauces to compliment the arepa if desired (all were delicious and only 1 is hott). Dessert was amazing and not too rich. We recently had similar food on vacation in Florida and this meal was way better!! We will be back to try more.

This place is a hidden gem! Luis is serving up hot, authentic Venezuelan arepas made with fresh, local ingredients. Great atmosphere.

I knew the flavor of the food was going to be excellent, and mom was very impressed and happy..lol I was happy she enjoyed the food a lot. Now, while we waited for the food, the waitress brought us Peruvian toasted corn that was really delicious in taste. I ordered the Ceviche and another dish with the Steak. The Steak, I requested it half order as I thought it could be too big, but not, I should had ordered the complete Steak dish, it was delicious. Everything is delicious, Fish or Steak, is only great and greater flavors. I love how I can try food from different countries, with their original and unique flavors and seasonings without having to fly out of the US. This absolutely, a must have.

Even though Aromas is "across the street from Cooper's," it might as well be a different world. Not…read morequite downtown, not quite Pine Brook, selecting this location is either an indication of confidence or foolhardiness. Overall, I don't think that confidence is misplaced. Aromas serves excellent Peruvian food, my primary compliment being for the large ceviches made to order. My first complaint is that the restaurant space is an assault on the senses. The relatively small main room/bar has an outrageous assortment of lights, including two strands of blinking lights as well as two TVs, contrasting decor, a chirping smoke detector, and music that sounded like it was clashing with different music being played in the main dining room. I'm close to a 0/10 for ambiance here. The second, more mainstream complaint is that the prices are high, maybe even outlandishly high for Scranton. The portions are large but this was the first time in my adult life that I ever winced at a menu in Scranton. What was supposed to be a moderate lunch for two ended up being a $100+ extravaganza that would have been difficult to finish in a dinner seating. Other thing was that two of the fried mussels in my entree had cracked shells--would have liked to see more quality control for such an expensive dish. Otherwise it was good. Overall, this is a unique restaurant serving basically everything in splittable portions and I look forward to returning. (Yes, this lot containing one of the last remaining preserved "Scranton Horses" almost convinced me to give an extra star.)

The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly, and everything came together for an enjoyable visit. Even after all this time, it's one of those places I look back on positively. Kind of had low expectations but really yummy!…read more Service was not the best and was a bit slow but food was good! Pretty large portions too. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer which was nice and limey- perhaps too many onions and rather large pieces. We also tried the popstar cocktail which was good- quite strong. For mains we ordered the taco plate with shrimp, chicken tinga, and lengua, plantains and potatoes. I liked the chicken and shrimp tacos the best. The carnitas platter was also very good! I thought that parts of the pork were a tad on the dry side but this is quickly remedied by pairing it with the beans and guac. Now, the star of the show and the reason this review has 4 stars and not 3 is the chipotle chocolate cake. I was expecting the chipotle/pepper flavor to be completely overpowered by the chocolate cake. However, the peppery taste came through! It wasn't spicy per se but it had a very mild kick but was just noticeable enough. The texture of the cake was also great- not your typical flourless chocolate cake, more custardy and creamy almost. Overall, would recommend! Food was solid- I thought the tacos and ceviche were better than the carnitas platter. The cake was the star of the show!
