I think I reviewed this place a few years ago during covid. We've visit here a few times since but just wanted to provide an update. King Cajun is still an awesome spot for most things seafood, we've eaten most things...crawfish boils, sandwiches, platters, gumbos, etc. The inside has enough space and the service is fast enough that eating in is totally doable. They are good at accommodating big parties as well. On this visit my wife got a crawfish boil with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage and added her favorite flavor sauce - SHABANG!!...it's pretty damn good...I got a shrimp po-boy and a small shrimp gumbo. Everything was just delicious! And I'll add that we love the bibs, gloves, and extra napkins! If you're wanting some New Orleans style boil or just some good seafood King Cajun is worth it. read more

Checked out this restaurant yesterday and I would definitely say I enjoyed my time here! I ordered the seafood boil with the mixed sauces, mild heat, rice and fries and it was delicious!! Our server was really nice and she was attentive on our drinks. I've been to other seafood boil places before and a friendly critique is it would be nice if they had some hand wipes or hand sanitizers to clean our hands after we eat. This King Cajun location is located right in the heart of the Mills District and it offers a variety of fresh and frozen seafood at market price. Some seafood items offered include shrimp, clams, crawfish, scallops, crab legs, and lobster just to name a few... You also have the option to choose your sauce and heat level to cater to your own personal preference. They also offer fried items and additional add on items as well....such as potatoes, corn, eggs and sausage. Now my go to order is ALWAYS the house special wings which is an amazing balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. I also order a combination of shrimp, mussels and crawfish... all drowned in their specialty sauce with a medium-spice level. It is literally out of this world. The service is always top notch as well! This is a family owned restaurant and they truly take pride in their food and the quality of hospitality that they provide. The one thing that I would take caution of is the parking lot, it is on the smaller side so you might need to find street parking during peak times. But other than that...the restaurant itself is very casual and quaint and will definitely be a great place to take the family or for a date night! King Cajun has been a family favorite for a long time. I don't like spicy so I got the rajun Cajun(mild) and it wasn't too spicy for me to eat all of my shrimp for one. Good flavor and buttery yum to mix with the rice (a must). But the seasoning/sauce was a bit on the dense and grainy side which I didn't love. I tasted the KC sauce (hot) on the other shrimp for one and it was thinner (more watery) so it was something specifically with mine. The shrimp was also a bit overcooked for my liking(on both dishes). Almost to the point of being chalky, but not quite. Service was polite and professional. We got plenty of water refills and always had what we needed. It's a small spot and the tables are tight, but when you come for the food, you don't have to worry about all that! read more

Start with the good the people were nice and service was good. The restaurant is small but cozy. Flavors overall were just good, if I had to compare it to other competitors in the area I'd say it was my least favorite. I had the whole shebang sauce which is everything but there wasn't any garlic they must use garlic powder or a really low amount of garlic. It has a different flavor then a lot of other places and I don't find it as salty either the sauce, however that they sell in the bottle does not taste the same which he did fully explain when I purchased the bottle. It's about $85 but again it's a lot for your buck! I got the Raging Cajun medium flavor and the flavor is next level. It's located in the mills/east colonial area, and hits every time. The parking lot is a little small, but there is street parking available. They have all of the prices on the walls so you can know how much you're going to spend.
