Happy Tap continues to be our go to pizza place. The pizza is simply the best - and the cheese garlic bread is the bomb!

One of my favorite pizzas in West Allis. Good sauce, crispy crust, perfect amount of toppings. Would highly recommend!

Bacon, pineapple, and jalapeño. So good.

I have been waiting to find good tavern pizza and my husband stepped up! We have lived in the area for 3 years and tried a bunch of different spots. Pizza is never really that bad but it's also hard to find great-to-you places. We wanted classic bar pie and so my husband called and waited a bit on the phone and decided he and my dad would just go there, order and have a beer while they wait. I wasn't there so I can't say much, they did say they waited for a while. And then a little while longer. The vibe was happy so no one was losing it (maybe me, thinking they were just out having a great time ) but the pizza looked good so they thought, ah worth the wait I bet. Got home, revealed the pies and we were hooked. They are exactly what we have been waiting for. We don't do many bars now a days since we have 2 little ones so it's harder to us to find. But now that we know how good the pizzas are, I just might brave it with my kids just to order pizza to go. My husband said it was chill place, somewhere where we would have went before kids.

One of the best bar pies in Milwaukee! Happy Tap is (literally) a corner bar near West Allis. There is a small parking lot in the back of the building. Walking in, you see a dimly lit, clean, friendly bar. All of the seats along the bar were taken, so we sat at a table on the side. We heard many good things about their pizza so we ordered a large cheese, Canadian bacon, mushroom, onion pizza & and order of cheesy garlic bread. The bread came out quickly and piping hot. The bread was crunchy, cheese was melty with lots of garlic goodness. The pizza was perfectly balanced with ample cheese & toppings. Sauce was subtle & not too acidic. Safe to say this our new go to spot!

My boyfriend has never been to Happy Tap and we went there for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. There was a little bit of a crowd around 1:30'ish when we arrived but it wasn't too bad and was able to get a seat at the bar. We ordered a large and went with the classic pepperoni and sausage. Didn't have to wait long and when the pizza was brought out to us I was giddy like a little school girl lol. I wanted to dig in that pizza right away because I was hungry, but I was patient and gave it a couple minutes to kind of cool down a bit. Got a couple slices, sprinkled some crushed red peppers and I was ready to eat! After the first couple slices I asked my boyfriend what he thought, while still eating gave me the thumbs up. He thought it was frozen pizza and told these are made in house. He said for a bar pizza like this it was good and was pleased with the taste and value. For a 16" 2-topping pizza and two tap beers came to $22 and some change and was worth every penny. I'm glad he enjoyed the pizza and said he definitely would love to come back again for another one.

Super solid bar pizza with a side of friendly townie bar atmosphere. Happy Tap is an unassuming little corner bar in West Allis that serves up really good thin-crust pizza. It had been on the "to try" list for awhile so we stopped in last night. Expect lots of regulars - everyone seems to know each other and the bartenders. Even though we were newbies we were made welcome. Pretty much your food option is pizza - build your own 12" or 16", think crunchy crust, cut tavern style. There are a few snacks like a soft pretzel but I'd suggest starting off with their cheesy garlic bread - it's a huge amount and really good! Pizza wise, we enjoyed it - I love that the center of the crust stays crisp and didn't get soggy. We kept it classic with Italian sausage but they have a ton of choices to make your perfect pie. If you like their pizza, there's a loyalty program so check that out. Best part - it's crazy cheap! A 16" pizza, cheese bread and 4-5 beers was $30!

What a great spot! We stopped in and had a blast! It's a cool hang with fun people. Best bar pizza we've had in a really long time. Guessing the thin crust isn't theirs but it's good and the toppings are DElicious. The sausage and pepperoni are on point. The garlic cheese bread - amazing. When you are in the neighborhood- make this a stop.

I had Happy Tap bookmarked for a while as a place I needed to try, but upon hearing that ownership would be changing within a week and seeing speculation that there was a chance the new ownership would not keep the same recipes, I decided to not wait any longer and get to Happy Tap as soon as possible. Based on pictures I'd seen from other users on Yelp, both the pizza and cheese bread looked like some of the tastiest I've ever seen, especially the hand pattied sausage on the pizza. Ordering both of those was a very easy decision. The cheese bread only had a light garlic taste, which I prefer and appreciated. For me, too much garlic flavor can ruin garlic and/or cheese bread, so less is better. The bread was also perfectly toasted. The pizza wasn't quite out of this world like I'd hoped it would be, but it was still very good pizza. The hand pattied sausage was excellent and the crust was nice and crispy on the ends. The only knock on it is that I didn't love the bottom of the crust with it's slight floury texture and the ends were bordering on overcooked. Hopefully the new ownership realizes they have a good thing going and maintains the food as it is. I'll be a repeat customer if so.

This place is just your typical neighborhood corner bar. However... the pizza sets this place apart. It's FANTASTIC! Thin, crispy, cheesy, not super greasy. And cheap! Ordered my pie "slightly well done". It was perfectly cooked. Can't wait to go back

I haven't been here in years and forgot how great this place is for bar food. This is one of my favorite fish fries in the city because it's hand breaded with a flavorful coating with flaky hot fish. The coleslaw is perfect because it's very fine with a celery seed. The rye bread is fresh and not dried out. My best advice is to get the breaded mushrooms. They are some of the best I've ever eaten because again they are hand breaded. On Fridays you must get free fresh cake again homemade not bought. We tried three of the desserts and they didn't disappoint. Drinks are a strong pour and if you're lucky the owners wife will serve you because she's awesome. I love all the air plants they have and the dark interior really does make it more of a "classy dive" as their name suggests. We came here for a Sunday lunch and to catch the Brewers game. They had a three dollar special on domestics when we went, which was cool. Our server was nice and our orders came out promptly. The food was absolutely delicious. I was blown away by it actually. When I go to dive bars, I don't have the highest expectations for the food because usually the food is mediocre. However, at this bar, it really blew me away. I had the ODB smashburger with regular fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful with such a fluffy, soft bun. I love that they put crispy onion straws in it for a little crunch. The fries are steak fries. They had some beer batter type of coating that made them so crispy and yummy. I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. The nachos were fantastic--loved the pickled onions. They were a unique and tasty addition. After the large appetizers, we realized we didn't have room for full entrees. Everyone ordered some wings. I really wanted to try the hot sauce but was scared to commit. Our server was super friendly and brought me some out to test with bread. Loved the flavor, but it was indeed too hot for me. I went with the garlic parm sauce (so good). My son got a side of the Mac and cheese which I thought was delicious. Cavatappi noodles, breadcrumbs, oh my! ODB's menu might feature some "typical bar food" but it is realllllllly good bar food. The menu has a great variety of choices but isn't too big and overwhelming like a lot of places. The bar looked fun too, there was a dj and everything. I'll be back (probably for that birria sandwich I had my eyes on!).

They hold your cards to if you're running a tab which is nothing out of the norm when it comes to a bar, but because I didn't have cash on me at the time I had to ask for my card back because I was informed that I would need it to place an order at the kitchen for food. This was a first for me to go a kitchen window to do an order but it was not a big deal for us. Now if you do pay with your card, there's like a $2 or $3 fee so just a heads up. I went with the 2 piece fried cod with french fries and my friend did the same but with the potato pancakes. We didn't wait long before we received our order and I was ready to dig in. The fries were nicely reasoned and received a nice amount with the order. The fish was flaky, crispy and with a squeeze of lemon and dash of salt it was pretty good. I did see there other specials they had for other food items and would love to try in the future. But overall not a bad place and wished I would've stopped here sooner.
