Pear and Brie pizza (olive oil, buffalo mozzarella, baked pears, Brie cheese, bacon, chile honey)

I truly love Tauro Cocina and it is easily one of my favorites in MKE! I have been here multiple times and have left very happy and full. The food and drinks are delicious and I recommend pretty much everything I've tried on the menu. The outside patio area is also so cute with a ton of seating and great vibes, and when it's cold the inside is also fun! The Pulpo à la plancha (grilled octopus, Romesco, arugula, and lemon vinaigrette) is my favorite appetizer and I always try to snag a slice of the pear and Brie pizza! My favorite drink is the Jardin de Guadalupe (gin, limoncello, and lemon) They were also able to accommodate a fairly larger group I had on New Year's Eve, which was much appreciated and made for a fun night! Will definitely Be going back

Love this spot! Food is always amazing and I love the fusion of two food cultures coming together! We sat on the patio since it was such a lovely night and the fountain adds a nice ambiance. My mom and I shared a bottle of wine but the cocktails are fun twists on the classics and would definitely recommend! Our server helped us to cork the bottle of wine to go and was very friendly overall. If you can, order a pizza and a pasta and share since both are amazing and it is very hard to choose!

I love tauro Cocina! It's one of those places that never disappoints! You have to try the jardin de Guadalupe cocktail. Even if you don't love cocktails or gin, you will most likely love it. Super easy to drink! Can't go wrong with a charcuterie board! Their pizzas and pastas are also so good!

Such a cute spot in Milwaukee! The food and wine were both really good, and the staff was super attentive throughout our meal. I also loved the mix of different cuisines on the menu--it was refreshing to try something a little different instead of the usual options. Overall a really nice spot for dinner and wine!

First time coming here. Food: The menu has a lot of excellent choices. The drink menu features plenty of specialty cocktails, and I took our server's recommendation and ordered the Whisky Paloma, which was an excellent choice. I loved the chili dust along the rim. If you like pizza, they have an interesting selection featuring ingredients such as peaches, figs, and bacon. It was hard to decide, but I ended up ordering the Burrata pizza with grilled peaches, arugula, and honey. It was very good and would have been even better with a few more grilled peaches. I also ordered the grilled octopus because, if it's on the menu, I just have to try it. It was very good, along with the accompanying roasted potatoes. I prefer my octopus well grilled and firm, and this preparation was a bit softer than I would have liked. We finished with the tiramisu, which was a little disappointing. It was both very cold, as though it had just been thawed, and a bit soggy. Service: The service was very good throughout the evening. We were seated right away, and our server did a nice job of getting us settled in. The drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly, and we felt well attended to throughout the meal. Thanks, Robert! Atmosphere: The building is a gem, with old brick on the outside and a modern, relaxing design on the inside. There is a foyer where guests are greeted and can wait for their tables. The wood wall treatments and lighting are inventive and upbeat. The many hard surfaces make the acoustics a bit loud, but we were still able to have a conversation comfortably. Overall, it was a very good experience. With a bit more attention to some of the final touches on the food, this could have been an even better experience. We would enjoy coming back again.

The food was great the first time I went. Not sure why it felt a little underwhelming when I went the second time maybe it was just a weird day. The risotto's are really good! Appetizers can be a little more descriptive because the bruschetta was not the regular style so definitely ask before ordering. Ambience was really nice and the service is great as well. I would recommend this place for its unique taste.

We had a great first dining experience at Tauro Cocina! I kept hearing about how great of a spot it is, but haven't been to this building since it was Trocadero back in the day. I love the location of this restaurant, a cozy little nook set apart from the business of downtown but still so accessible! With events happening at the fiserv and new music venue in the deer district, it was a welcome reprieve from the action. The restaurant itself is lively but chill - is there a word for that!? lol very laid back, friendly and informed staff. We were able to snag a seat at the bar which was great - it's probably got 12-15 seats. Full dinner service too! My husband got a mezcal old fashioned (not on the menu) and I got a spicy margarita. Both were great! As for food, the menu is eclectic, but everything looks and tasted great! We got 2 appetizers, the bruschetta and stuff pepper - both were delish!! And then we shared the braised beef risotto topped off the night with a spirit free strawberry Fresca & churros (SO GOOD). Great experience for deciding last minute and getting a walk in spot.

I went for a friend's birthday and we had a good time. This was my first time here and I was quite impressed with ambiance. It's a very upscale Latino restaurant located off of Brady St. Walk-ins are fine if it is a slow night, but they highly recommend reservations because it can get packed. The restaurant is huge on the inside and with bar seating. The food is very good and so are the drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful if you don't know to pronounce the food in Spanish.

We were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary; after some searches on yelp and Google, we found Tauro Cocina. And as you can tell from the photos and smiles on our faces, we made the perfect choice for our special dinner. So many parts of our dining experience were perfect - from the atmosphere, service, food, drinks, and more. My main highlights were the food and decor/atmosphere. I really appreciate that the main food menu is one page long. Not only is it organized and printed well, but there are also A LOT of delicious options to choose from (and asking our amazing waiter for his recommendations also helped narrow our initially long list of choices). We ended up ordering the Asada Pizza and Parmesan Risotto. And O-M-G ... the pizza was yummy BUT the risotto with the Birria was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I will definitely be trying one of the multiple risotto dishes next time we visit the restaurant. Finally, the restaurant was thoughtfully designed and well lit. Though the restaurant was full of other diners, we experienced great service, the feeling of an intimate and romantic dinner, and wonderful views of the outdoor dining space. I had such a great time that I left my purse at our table but no worries because our waiter quickly caught us before we reached our car to return my purse. Thank you Tauro for the delicious food and service!

This place is outstanding. The food is AMAZING. Highly recommend the Mezcal pasta, green pesto pasta, risotto, and pan with spinach and queso. Anything you order will be quality, worth the price. Service was great, was never left waiting once. Drinks were also very good and bartenders were friendly.

A+++++ for the delicious food we had at Tauro Cocina. Spanish/Italian fusion. Sat at the counter. Busy casual spot. Waiter was attentive. We had the Spicy tomato basil pasta with chicken & the linguini poblano w/chicken. The poblano pesto was out of this world tasty!!! YUM. We had a bottle of Tempranillo with our meal which sealed the deal. Casual spot on Water Street very close to where my son lives It was my favorite meal while in Milwaukee MEMORABLE indeed. Looking forward to a return visit here.

I've been to Tauro Cocina several times since I used to live across the street. It's a great spot to bring the parents, have date night, or a fun time with the girls. The Mexican/Italian fusion is great - think Mexican flavor on an Italian vessel (pizza, pasta, sandwiches). The chipotle pasta is my go to, but picture below is my recent new try, the spicy tomato pasta.

    Jack L.

I was interested to see how they'd do an Italian Mexican fusion, some restaurants seem to just have some of each on the menu. But Tauro actually blended them in most of their dishes, like Romano cheese in their queso and more. It was delicious! I would emphasize getting a cocktail because ours were great, the vibes inside were great for a date night. I can't wait to go back soon! I also highly recommend a night of eagle park down the street and then Tauro!

Lovely decor & wall art that adds to the Italian ambiance. Very clean establishment & easy access to well kept restrooms. Our bill was a bit high, but that was mostly because some of the cocktails were over $15 & the prices of those aren't shown on the menu -they sure were delicious but keep that in mind if you're trying to stay under $100 for two people. We went to Il Cervo on a Sunday around noon, took the elevator up to nine, and entered a lobby with view-through larder showcasing hanging meats and fresh ingredients. Wine racks were displayed throughout the huge space. The space is expansive and during the day, quite bright. It is broken into several different seating areas and at least one lounge and one bar that I saw. You can also choose to sit on the balcony. It seemed remarkably empty of diners, but they could have been concentrated in other sections. Unfortunately we were seated directly next to a party of three who were very, very chatty, even though our dining area had no other occupied tables. We let our server know that we had a cruise deadline and needed to be paced accordingly and she acknowledged it and offered to bring our bill with our food. We ordered bloody Marys, which took a little bit to come out. They were good, with just enough spice, a tajiin rim, a couple olives and two pieces of cheese for garnish and sans the Sconnie beer chaser. My friend ordered the mushroom bianca pizza, hand-pulled mozzarella, fontina, black truffle ricotta, local mushrooms, roasted garlic, chives for $25. It came out and could easily have fed three or four. It was definitely more than a personal pizza. She enjoyed it and we both enjoyed the leftovers. Caveat - it was much better warm according to her. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese flatbread, without the bacon (bacon, scrambled egg, ricotta cheese, scallion). I could have added truffle for $15, but on an $18 dish, that seemed excessive. The crust was exceptional and unlike anything I've ever had. There was some sort of hot honey glaze, which I usually don't enjoy, but the balance on this was excellent. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Unmentioned on the menu descriptions were the micro greens which added freshness and lightness to both dishes. Our timing was still really tight. We had to ask for our bill and to-go-containers. We made it out just in time. It took an age to run our cards, which we handed over with the bill unseen.
