My husband and I were looking to install 2 seats on Ram promaster city. We were told to come at 10am to get an estimate and whether it is possible to do so. When we get there, he was not there and we were told that he was in Sacramento. The guy who helps us said he could do it but we were to ask pricing with Jessie (the owner). So we called to asked the price. He kept telling us that he did not see the van so he couldn't tell the price even though he told us to show up but he was not there. So we asked him when exactly he would be there so we could bring the van to give us exact quote since he kept changing the quote over the phone and kept saying different pricing. He said he was too busy and hang up rudely!! How messed up is that? He was the one not showing up and when asked what day and time exactly we could come back for exact quote, he is obnoxious about it. I would not trust his pricing because he kept changing the pricing. Imagine when the work is done and he would come up with the excuse to charge more since he couldn't keep his word to show up to the appointment and was not even apologetic about it. I purchased a Ram Van from Normanden Chrysler and as a bonus they threw in a rubber mat installation from Happy Van. I was expecting just a rubber mat. What I got was a super thick pro rubber mat custom cut and installed in my Van. Jesse was swamped because he just moved his shop and the man is in demand .. he is hella busy! I first approached the owner of this business Jess in late October'17 to go over a few basic mods to add to my van. I wanted them installed and ready by March'18. Anyone would assume this was a fairly relaxed schedule with plenty of time to finish up the upgrades. NOT in this case! It's been several months of back and forth phone calls and leaving messages and voicemails. Initially Jesse would answer my phone calls and give various reasons for the delays and off lately I leave a message with his wife over the phone expecting a callback. And of course there's no call back even after two weeks of leaving messages. Very unprofessional! All I wanted were floor mats, some cabinets and possibly a bed/table setup. But Jesse stopped short of installing wood flooring with some hooks. The latter was also accomplished only after a ton of heartache/ scheduling issues / excess delay and in the end I had to go over the weekend to get it done and sit through the whole installation. It doesn't occur to him that people have other things going on over the weekend would rather prefer turning in the van for the installations, not having to sit through the whole installation live. I'm taking my business and unfinished van after almost 4 months of delays and false promises - elsewhere. read more

I purchased my Mercedes sprinter 144 wb from Beshoff motors. A long list of work done by Jesse at Happy Vans. A few things that I absolutely needed. - Noise proof. My son is very sensitive to noise and chemicals. - Nothing that can potentially be harmful (like asbestos or fiberglass etc.) - Basic comfort for a long drive - I did NOT want an RV Here's what Jesse did. *Sound proofing: Removed the entire interior. including doors. First layer of dynamat xtreme. Then we put thermozite for insulation, then reflectix, finally the interior wall. Dynamat under the hood as well. On driving, it was all noise of air. Engine noise comes during acceleration - which happens in all cars. For air coming in through door, Jesse put extra weatherproofing seal. It took at lot of time, but every bit worth it. At the end, I can drive and talk inside comfortably. Also music is very comfortable. *Fittings: For passenger seat and captain chair, we opted for swivel. Floor was removed, put dynamat and thermozite all over body, then put the floor back. Bamboo flooring on top. TV, curtains, drapes, Refrigerator, microwave, 2 batteries and electricals, sensory lighting, cabinet, steps, fan, porta porti with privacy curtain, additional storage box, steps. *Safety add: side cameras, rear camera always on, back-up sensors It feels great while driving. What I also did additionally was to bring down the tire pressure to 45/45 than 47/70. What could I do differently? - customized order (crew van with complete safety driving package). You will save 10k or more if you know what you need and wait for 3 months. - Get dynamat through Jesse and not online - it's much cheaper I realized later. I could have saved 30% off my dynamat cost (~$1500) - Give myself 15-30days for the end-to-end work. Even if it seems like 1 week, customization takes time and plan for it. What I liked about Jesse and Happy Vans: - Honesty. There were time he missed items to bill and I had to remind him. I did the groundwork and his prices where lower than other places I checked. - Lifetime warranty of work. A 3 year warranty is good for me. - Very friendly and helpful. Always open to whether you buy OR they will buy. - Even after I made the payment and had additional things to fix, that was all done immediately without any charges. Jesse and his team were always welcoming whenever I stepped in. Unless you know what exactly and how you want, better to refer to earlier work Jesse has done. He has tons of photos from earlier work. After going through this process, I realized and loved the idea of customizing the van to your needs. This is my first customized van, so will see how it goes in 3 yrs. read more
