This is my new "go to" when it comes to convertible tops and upholstery. I had called many different convertible shops and was very disappointed with their offerings. I had purchased the top on my own and therefore didn't need the shop to get one for me. Most of the shops that I called would not allow me to pre-purchase the top, they wanted to purchase the top for me. Of course they did, they can double the price of the top. The rear window of my Jaguar XKR convertible decided to fall out during the heat at the end of summer. Knowing the dealer prices would be over the top, I looked around and found Soft Tops. I gave Ricardo a call, explained my predicament, and he told me to stop by for an appraisal. I went in originally thinking that the window could be glued back in; unfortunately, Ricardo explained this could not be done and I would need a new roof. A little despondent at the news, we went to his office where Ricardo proceeded to give me the rundown on the different types of material, the pros and cons, etc. He then proceeded to call around a number of vendors for a quote. From my experience with the Jaguar dealer, I was expecting to pay a small fortune, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices we were quoted for the roof. After finalizing the deal, Ricardo explained that it would be an 8 hour job, and that if I dropped the car off early in the morning I would get it back the same day. Cut forward two weeks: the roof arrived, I dropped off the car, Ricardo gave me a ride home, and eight hours later I returned to see a brand new roof on my Jaguar. It looks amazing. The only caveat... Ricardo advised me not to lower the roof for two weeks to allow the roof to "relax" into its new home. Apparently, they are so tight when first installed, you may not get the roof back up again. Two weeks later, the roof goes down and up again with no problems at all. Needed my seat Fixed the first shop I went to was Bascom Upholstery . They were very nice , I needed my door panel fixed as well, the price he gave me on that was $125.00 to $200.00 hundred I didn't like the flexible quote He said just call them and in two days they can have the material , to fix the seat was $ 396.00 I new they would do great work if I chose them. I just didnt like the flexiable quote and the price was a bit high for me. I thought I would drive over to soft tops and see what they would charge. Ricardo is a very nice man and you can tell he is honest about his word ! Ricardo said he could fix both for $268.00. Two days later I dropped the car off and he gave me a ride home and in about 5 hours the same day the car was finished. The seat looks fantastic and the door panel came out fine. These guys are amazing! I had a sagging headliner in my GMC truck that dusted the truck out often. Totally a health hazard and annoyance with all the foam dust! I called around a few upholstery shops and Ricardo offered the best quote and explained the job in a friendly manner which just totally sold me. They had a full bay at the time I brought the truck in, but the owner himself jumped on my truck and had it completed in less than 2 hours with zero flaws! It looked totally original. Last year I had a new top installed on my 1974 Pontiac Grandville. I also had the seats recovered, new carpet kit, and door panels reconditioned. I feel I got taken for a ride by these guys. I spent $4700.00 for a professional installation that was anything but professional. First off they did a terrible job on the carpet. They used no padding underneath and didn't glue it down, therefore it is lumpy and loose. It looks like total garbage. The seats looked great at first. Now... one year later... the seats covers are falling apart on the stitching. Also the buttons on the tuck and diamond pattern have started falling off! Not to mention the $2100.00 convertible top got a huge tear in it due to the frame not being correct. My complaint is, if it needed attention when the top was installed, you should have informed me then and I could have addressed it! Not sent it out in need of repair so that it rips the $2100.00 top! I had asked them to paint the frame because it was in need of a clean up. They did not paint it. I had to take it back to have them paint it! (That was in the estimate for repairs to be performed). The visors were in need of repair or replacement so we decided to replace one and recondition the other. The replacement visor sags and wont stay up. This is a terrible distraction while driving. You would think with a simple adjustment you could fix this sagging visor. NOT! Its a piece of junk that should have never went into my classic car! One last thing that really put the icing on the cake. When the car was returned I noticed the headrests on the front seats were missing. When I called Ricardo to ask where the headrests were, he informed me that the car didn't have headrests.After pulling up some pics of my car WITH HEADRESTS I about came unglued. I had to take my car back to them numerous times. They attempted to fix the carpet (Still looks like a hack did it!) The visor is still an issue even after asking him to fix it. The headrests are now back on the car and the seats are coming unstitched. If you have a car you love, like i love mine..... DO NOT USE SOFTOPS! They ripped me off and wouldnt or couldnt fix the issues. For $4700.00 I could have had professional work done elsewhere. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!! Considering legal action. read more

I would give this business 0 stars if I could. Ricardo messed up my 323 BMW. He told me to replace my top & tension straps - per his advice I did and spent $1,400 on the repairs. After that, top never opened/closed properly. He says that he can't fix the issue. Instead, he directed me to shop who is asking me $360 just to diagnose the issue. let alone fix the mess he has created. Per him, he does not guarantee when he does his repairs that a top will open or close properly when installing a new top - he just puts a new top on. Went to get a quote for a leak on my 2008 SAAB 9-3 convertible. Ricardo took a look, a little touching on the molding and simply explained he would wipe clean the molding and spray a sealant. He said that should do the trick as we both agree my molding was is good shape (no cracking) & clearly no tears. I was soo hesitant to believe in how simple a cleaning & spray could do. I was told a company is only as good as how they handle a problem. I went to Ricardo with a leaking a rear convertible window. After speaking to Ricardo he suggested that I get a new top instead of fixing the rear window. I paid $1200 for a top install. When I came to pick up my car I noticed that the attention to detail was not there, they had gotten glue on my paint, also some of the trim look to have gotten damaged in the process. Before leaving I asked Ricardo about washing the vehicle and water leakage. He told me if I would like I could go home and spray the car down with water to see if it leaks. I came home and hose the car down only to find that it leaks like a sieve, water was leaking from both side windows and all along the front seal. I called Ricardo back and told him of the problems of the top leaking. Ricardo told me that it would need two weeks of not opening the top so that the top can relax. He originally told me that these tops do not stretch but only shrink. I waited to two weeks as suggested with no improvement the windows do not lineup in the robbers the top is still leaks like a sieve. Ricardo told me to bring it back a week later so that he can make appropriate adjustments. When I brought it back to him to have him make this bad install right he refused to work on the car telling me that it would do no good to loosen the top up. When I asked him for my money he said no way. I have given him the opportunity to make things right. I will be pursuing him in small claims court. read more
