I love this place. My kids get their fried chicken wings and they're flavored so nicely. They have a subtle hoisin sauce and five spice flavor and so crispy tender and juicy. My daughter loves their white rice which to me is just basic white rice but she says it's the best white rice ever. I always get the sesame shrimp and cheese wonton but with sweet and sour sauce instead of duck sauce. The sesame shrimp sauce is so good. Sweet and tangy and savory. Also ordered scallion pancakes which are soo crispy , too crispy for my liking. So after a few orders (3+) I've given them up... for good , I think.??? I know they have a large variety menu. I have picked up orders and I had them delivered in Centerport. Very happy with everything prepared to date. Wonton soup with large multiple wontons, flavor filled fried rice, great steamed dumplings and their mixed meals with chicken, beef or pork have not disappointed. Not much was open last night by the time we decided to order dinner, so we got Happy Wok. A very nice change. We order from a third party app to ensure a no contact delivery. The food was prepared quickly and delivered in a speedy manner as well. The bags were clearly labeled and were stapled shut. A major positive during the pandemic. Happy Wok included silverware, lots of condiments and seven fortune cookies! Very generous. The food temperature was perfect. It was hot but not too hot. Very large portions. The chicken egg foo young was excellent. Lots of tender pieces of white meat chicken in a delicious sauce. The chicken rice soup was wonderful. They did not put in an excessive amount of rice like many Chinese food restaurants do. Again a plethora of chicken was present in the soup as well. An amazing meal and very reasonably priced. Do used to be hit or miss. But every once in a while I'd give them a shot. They are just missed... Basically the same recipe whatever you get. I have a gluten allergy, so typically order the Udon soup and ask that they leave the noodles out altogether. This time, I suggested they use rice noodles if they had or leave them out. But regular udon noodles came in the soup when it was delivered. When I called to ask about it, the man who answered tried to tell me udon noodles ARE rice noodles. They're not. They contain wheat. Had I been highly allergic (and more trusting), I could have gotten really sick, besides having to throw out half of the dish. The sushi I ordered was room temperature when it was delivered which concerned me, and the salmon sushi was so fishy, I had to spit it out. Im genuinely concerned I may have gotten food poisoning after reading some of the other reviews. The wasabi was hard, and the rice the fish was on top of wasn't even fresh regular rice, nevermind being actual sushi rice with rice vinegar. Even the California roll tasted old and stale. I don't ever write reviews- especially bad ones. Id rather just keep it to myself and not order from that place again; I feel bad calling people out, but they're not even trying. The food is very inconsistent and when ordering the same meal it can taste totally different depending on which day of the week you order. The name Happy Wok is a misnomer because it should be called miserable wok. I decided to give a different Chinese place a shot, but it was a huge mistake to try Happy Wok. First of all, it took over an hour for my order (2 soups and 2 sushi rolls) to arrive. Delivery guy was a bit rude when he finally got here. I'm no expert, but neither of these items takes an excessively long time to prepare. When it did arrive, one of the soups was missing although they charged for it. The sushi looked and tasted as though it came from the supermarket, but slightly lower quality. My boyfriend work at the nail salon right next door. They order lunch from them almost everyday. We pay 2 dollars tips everyday but they keep saying 1 min delivery should be paying more tips. We had to wait another 20-25 minutes once we got in the restaurant after getting there 15 minutes after we ordered because they messed up a part of the order. The boneless spare ribs were on point after it was fixed though. General tso chicken was pretty good, nothing crazy. It was literally THE WORST Chinese food I've ever had. My boyfriend had the general tsos chicken platter, and the chicken, on top of having NO FLAVOR, was so overcooked it was inedible. I ordered shrimp chow mein and the shrimp was so tough it was like chewing on an eraser. The "chow mein" consisted of large chunks of onion and celery and an oily flavorless sauce. Nice open parking lot. Prices are fair. They are generous on their food amount, and are prompt when fulfilling orders. Food is pretty good, better than most places in the area. One thing that irritates me is that they put celery and other little things in their soup. However, I recommend this place. They also have a small seating area for dine-in. Most disgusting food I have ever had! The chicken was rubbery, the rice was soggy, the shrimp still had poop in it, and the vegetables were old. When I called in to complain I was put on hold four times, and still got bad service. I had to drive back the food to get my money back. Once again I was treated poorly. Happy Wok certainly isn't the best Chinese food in Northport, but they do have their strong points. They have a wide selection of sushi and entrees and have it ready relatively quickly. I like their orange chicken and their sesame chicken, and dabble in their California rolls and cucumber rolls from time to time. Their steamed vegetable dumplings are fine as well, but quite simply there are better versions of all of these around town. Their crab rangoons were strange in texture and lacked crisp, probably the worst ones in the area. Happy Wok is fine for a quick pick me up, but if you're looking for something substantial, it's best to shop elsewhere. The staff at times can be very brusque for no discernible reason given that they're hardly busy, and their sushi combo menu is very confusing and always leaves me bewildered. So that's the bottom line. If you need something quick to fill the Chinese cravings, Happy Wok will do just fine, but I guarantee you won't make it a regular stop. read more

The Chinese food is decent. We prefer the hot 'n' sour soup over the wonton...as the wonton dumplings are generally hard & chewy. Chicken & broccoli is good. It's a good neighborhood take out place...even sushi is decent, most of the time. I just with the people who worked there were a little nicer. Known amongst my friends also as "crappy wok." They also offer sushi here which I would suggest getting from a sushi place where it's much fresher than here. The chinese is good, I usually get the sesame chicken and ask for it not spicy, a seemingly hard task as 70% of the time I still get it spicy no matter how many times I mention I don't want it that way.
