This would be the best cuts from the chef's opinion. If you are open to trying an assortment, this would be a good choice to share. Skirt Steak and Shrimp Hibachi - (Sitting on the sushi side) - SO MUCH FOOD! I ended up get a full plate of that consisted half veggies, half entree items. I would highly suggest ordering 2 different type of proteins when getting hibachi! My friend ordered a skirt steak and a filet and did not receive as much entree protein as those who ordered 2 different ones. My favorite place! I go almost every week for happy hour. Their happy hour food menu is the best I've seen -- everything is delicious and fresh. I recommend the crispy rice tuna and the pork gyoza. The Lychee-tini is amazing, and so is the white sangria. Also, the staff is always very attentive and kind. I recommend going for happy hour because after 7, it definitely gets very busy. MIKO Sushi and Hibachi in East Northport is one of the better sushi and hibachi restaurants around. The staff very nice and helpful. It is always fun to bring the Kids or Grandkids to enjoy the hibachi show. The place has a nice bar area when you come in. They offer a Happy Hour at the Bar. I went for happy hour on a Friday afternoon. This restaurant has a nice vibe and pretty decor. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they made us feel welcome. The drinks were great with a good amount of liquor. My favorite part of my meal was the short rib it was so flavorful. The happy hour prices weren't much different from the regular menu so if you are looking for somewhere with great happy hour deals like 2 for 1 drinks this might not be the place to go. I LOVE this place! The place is always so clean and it has amazing decorations. The staff are always so nice and fun. It's always a great time coming to Miko, especially for Hibachi. However, I prefer their sushi. I love the salmon rolls and the tuna rolls. The sushi always tastes fresh and has an amazing texture. I like how they don't go too heavy on the rice, either. Let me start off this review by saying I have been here a handful of times in the past few years and always had an excellent experience and delicious food. Today was an exception. Our chef seemed "lost" when he arrived. He barely cooked the shrimp (and the rest of the food for that matter - the rice wasn't even mixed well. There wasn't even enough sauce covering all pieces to make it look brown.) my husband and I had to remind him we had ordered combo steak and shrimp, which meant we got all the shrimp and then he had to cook more for the table. So everyone else was annoyed of course. Then, my son and I did not get our steak. He had to have more brought out. He cooked it and then gave it all to my son so I had to remind him AGAIN that I had steak too so more steak was brought out - this time the INCORRECT steak. And it was also barely cooked. The vegetables were still hard and not even warm. Oh and one more thing - this is hibachi - usually you get an "experience" our chef didn't do anything except catch an egg in his hat. My son was so disappointed and sad that they didn't throw the zucchini into our mouths. And the poor kid just wanted a balloon - that was not happening either. It was a TERRIBLE experience. I told the manager on our way out, he just said sorry and that was it. I don't think we will return in the future, plenty of other hibachi options out there. read more

I've driven past this place a ton of times, but never considered it for a takeout lunch because the vibe felt more like a dinner spot. But today, I wanted a poke bowl. And, when I want a poke bowl, I get a poke bowl. It's nice and close for lunch, so I did an online pick up order. East system to work through, ordered before they opened, and the order was ready when I got there. Inside, it has a high end feel, nice bar area, lots of table space in the back. I did the build your own poke bowl lunch , 3 proteins - spicy shrimp, spicy crab and spicy tuna, black rice, avocado, seaweed salad, scallions, spicy Mayo, roasted peanuts and crispy wonton skins. This time we came for dinner for hibachi and our chef / cook Andy was amazing. He was very funny, and cooked everything perfectly. I opted to go with the filet mignon and short rib with fried rice. Came here on a rainy night where I was soaked. I asked for hot tea, which is complimentary. The tea came in a regular sized tea cup (thank goodness) which the waitress kept coming by to fill my teacup. I opted for sashimi for 2 which didn't seem filling but it's surprising how fill one can be trying to eat 36 pieces of sashimi. It came with a complimentary salad or miso soup. I've been to the location in Plainview numerous times. My boyfriend wanted hibachi to continue in his birthday weekend, and he lives closer to this location. I had tried to make a reservation, but the lady on the phone told me reservations are only for parties of 4 or more. When we arrived we were given a 30 minute wait. We decided to have a drink at the bar. We had the scorpion bowl for two. It was very good. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: we ordered another scorpion bowl for 2 at the table, and it was $2 less than what we were charged at the bar. After more than 30 minutes we still were not seated and the multiple hostess (at least 4) were just standing around the hostess stand with their Starbucks. When I asked how much longer it would be as we were going to order a second round at the bar, I wasn't given an answer right away, but then within a few minutes more we were brought to our table. For my hibachi entree I went with salmon and shrimp. Both were delicious. I also added hibachi rice for the $2 upcharge. All hibachi dinners come with soup, salad, veggies, rice or noodles and a shrimp appetizer. Everything was delicious! My boyfriend ordered filet mignon and scallops for his entree. I definitely stole a bite of both and it was delicious and nearly melted in my mouth! The scallops were amazing and the highlight of the meal. We really didn't get a "show." Bunch of crooks! Go to Aki on larkfield rd instead. I have been coming to Miko for 10 plus years. However they hired some new manager who referred to himself as MJ and thinks he is "special". I ordered from the catering menu which I frequently do as my family enjoys sushi. I was told that they are very busy and could not take the order as they don't have capacity, however I was informed I could place the same order off the non-catering menu at extra cost ! So clearly capacity was not the issue! When I spoke to MJ and told him that I have never experienced this ever he began arguing with me and shared that the catering order is only for when they are not busy! Are you kidding me! When I told him that I will be leaving a review on Google and Yelp and describe this atrocious behavior he stated, and I kid you not "I have your number and know where you live." Seriously guys, this happened, to which I invited him to come over and talk to me face to face - at which point he hung up. So please support me and ban this restaurant or at least until "MJ" is shown the door. I btw don't believe he gave me his correct name but he was the manager on duty. read more

Outstanding culinary experience! Really so far superior in menu items, presentation, flavor, ingredients and service than any other place on Long Island I've been to for sushi and Japanese food. Just an incredible dining experience for foodies. I haven't tried the hibachi side of the restaurant yet, which looked fun but crowded with families and really, hibachi is hibachi; it's not the taste sensation their sushi side of the restaurant offers. Really such a letdown. I read the mixed reviews on here, actually made reservations at Izumi in commack which I know is good and thought I'd cancel and try something different. I'm so mad at myself for doing that! I'll start with the positives: super friendly waitress, bottle of saki we liked, & the price of the meal....list stops there. The interior was nothing special, the pictures made it look much more "lounge" like than reality. The food was (for lack of a better term) garbage. I've had hundreds of sushi rolls at this point in my life and I'm a creature of habit, so spicy salmon, spicy tuna, & shrimp tempura are my gotos every time. I can confidently say this was the absolute WORST sushi I've ever had. If I'm being honest I've had premade grocery store rolls that were better quality. Ive never left sushi on the plate or left a sushi restaurant hungry but both of these occurrences happened. The salmon was so fishy it wasn't even edible, the tuna just did not taste fresh at all...and well shrimp tempura is hard to mess up but even this managed to be mediocre at best. The chicken hibachi was bland, the mushroom soup was literally just hot salted water with zero taste, the sushi was horrible, I actually overheard the table next to us complaining about the food as well. Really let down, this was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner but it turned out to be one of the worst Japanese meals I've ever had. Will definitely not be returning, and a word to the wise so you don't make the same mistake I did....trust the reviews and stick to what you know! read more
