I had been wanting to try Wild Ginger for so long and finally did... what a disappointment I feel so bad writing this because you could tell the restaurant is underutilized. Maybe at one time they were a lot busier than they are now? My husband and I came on a Friday night and only one other table had people eating. They seem to do a lot of takeout, so maybe that's their bread and butter. The veggie dumplings were the worst I've ever had. I had the chicken teriyaki which wasn't great. No flavor whatsoever and the veggies were all cut so weird. I wish they cooked them prior to putting them on the skillet but maybe that's just their way? My husband had pad Thai which he said was ok so that's why they're deserving of 2 stars I would definitely not return read more

I was debating on what to have for lunch one afternoon and decided to stop in here and give it a try again (I had been here years ago before I was on Yelp). I was a little disappointed they only offer lunch specials M-F but I was on the hungry side anyway. I started with an order of Spring Rolls which came out piping hot and crispy. I was debating on Chicken Dumplings but I'll try them next time. I ordered Szechuan Peppercorn Chicken for my entree and it was even better then from another restaurant where I order the exact same thing plus this restaurant is closer lol. I've been to Wild Ginger two times now and I love their sushi! There's not a ton of veg options but their standard classic rolls are delicious (I do crave a good peanut avocado or avo/cucumber roll). We ate here on Thursday night and it was pretty quiet. I think they do a booming takeout business, but it's so nice in here and I'd encourage you to eat in and take advantage of the space and ultra kind service. Although admittedly they did not have the dish my father adores (Massaman curry), they have a red curry that they allow you to adjust the spice level. My husband said his sushi was on point. I love the food at Wild ginger. Tonight I order the crunchy salmon roll, hibachi fried rice shrimp and a sex on the beach. The drink wasn't the best but it wasn't bad either there not really known for their drinks. The service was pretty good and efficient. The restaurant isn't super big but it accommodates everyone. I did appreciate the free drink with the yelp check in but I couldn't drink the free drink because I'm pregnant so I took it and gave it to my friend. The atmosphere was okay, some of the furniture looked chipped and worn which I felt did not blend in with the trendy atmosphere I thought they were going for. For dinner I had the pad thai. Started with Vietnamese summer rolls, which were light, crunchy, with nicely paired flavors and a light, sweet sauce. Sushi rolls were almost too pretty to eat ... almost. They were so delicious. Staff was courteous and attentive. Everything was great, including the green tea served in a charming little pot. I ordered chicken and broccoli with Brown rice. The amount of rice I received was very very small, They gave you No egg roll with your meal, Which every other Asian restaurant is almost a given, and for $23.00, that comes off a bit cheap. Most places charge about $16 for the same meal. So all in all, The free was indeed tasty, But the portions were indeed A little on the frugal side. This place has a great selection of sushi. I can always find something new that I haven't tried yet at this place. The kitchen entrees are delicious as well as the bento boxes for lunch. There is usually a coupon for this place and I try to go whenever I have one. I've brought many friends and family members here since they opened. It's very rare to have a problem here and the only one I've had is a long wait for the food. Once a waitress totally lost our order but that's probably more likely due to a very rude and distracting family that was there the same night. Had Wild Ginger twice last week. Once was delivered to my house, the other time I picked up the food. When they delivered to my house it only took about 20 minutes. I love the Pad Thai Beef. So my family and I come here ALL the time and the food is usually pretty good. I came here this weekend and ordered the Asian grilled chicken and red curry with brown rice. The food came in about 5 minutes, which I thought was odd. Food was pretty good, more on the mild side. If you want something more spicy, I would recommend mentioning "extra spicy" as you order. I also got the spring banana dessert with pomegranate ice cream which was really satisfying! The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars today is because my stomach felt awful when I went home, and realized it was definitely the entree. There were no napkins or chopsticks in the bag. Is this a joke? And lastly no Miso came with the order. When confronted they did say they forgot. Bottom line there are plenty of great sushi places to order from that take pride in their food, freshness, presentation and professional. This is has been our go to low key spot whenever we want some fresh Asian fusion. The staff is what makes going here, great! We are always greeted by the hostess, and the owner is usually standing by the bar area greeting his customers. We never have to wait, even when its busy. Without question we are always served with waters, and our appetizers are taken. My family and I love shrimp shumai so we usually order 2 of those to start along with edamame. I also opt for the Garlic Eggplant and brown rice meal. I like the spiciness and flavor the garlic brings to the dish. All of their food is fresh. I think that the Yelp description for two stars sums this restaurant up nicely... "Meh. I've experienced better." The food is standard, but good. We have lots of good sushi around this area, and they are par for the course. Nothing special, but nothing I would complain about either. The real draw is the service. I have eaten there three times now, and each time I am disappointed with the speed and attentiveness of the waitresses. Half the time I feel like they have only one or two on staff, even when the place is packed and there is a line out the door. They are also not great about compensating for lost order and long wait times. If you are thinking about going here, head to Nisen Sushi instead, it is just a short (five minute) drive west and it is better in every way (and it costs the same). read more
