Last night, we ate at Harbor Docks for the first time. They have a wide range of seafood choices on the menu. Two of us are not seafood lovers, so one chose the ribeye and I chose the chicken. Both of us were very happy with our meal as were the seafood lovers. We were waited on right away, and our food came quickly. The ambience of the place fit the name perfectly as this location is next to the docs. I would suggest using small solar, powered lights near the floor to light it up where it's dark. As we age, we cannot see where the floor changes heights. We had to walk very carefully. It has both inside and outside seating. We will be coming back again. read more

We were in Destin for a family get together -- there were 26 of us! Six of our group went deep sea fishing on the Charter boat Misa -- they had a great time. The crew told the fellows about Harbor Docks who have a Hook & Cook deal which we did and it was great! They took all the red snapper and mackerel the guys caught (they got the limit allowed!) and cooked it up with our choices of blackened, grilled or fried. It was all delicious! Marla, the owner, came and interacted with our group several times during our dinner. Our waitress was Chelsea and she was the absolute best! With 26 of us, she was so organized, attentive and got everything just right! The fish was wonderful and our fishermen were pleased that we could actually eat it, thanks to Harbor Docks! The 2 sides that came with the Hook & Cook deal were plentiful to choose from but definitely not as impressive as the fish! Really good sushi. This time we had the longest wait ever at our table. The couple who got sat at the same time as us ate, paid, and left before we got our sushi. That was a little annoying because at this point we were just bored of sitting at the table the whole time. Our poor server had tables from the inside corner of the restaurant to the far outside corner. So I 100% understand she was busy and the whole world is short staffed but never came by to apologize for the wait or to update us. (Side note to the restaurant to update the menu as the lighting was garage and the menu was on brown paper and super hard to read. I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from, seriously. We went on a Sunday night and had an amazing dinner. We ordered the fried green tomatoes app (YUM) and then ordered 3 different entrees, which we shared. Shrimp and grits (to die for with the garlic butter sauce), the stuffed grouper (VERY good) and then a yellowfin tuna filet. The only thing I didn't care for was the key lime pie....more of a cheesecake, maybe? But we've been taste testing key lime pie all weekend and the competition is pretty tough :) Anyway....highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. read more

My wife and I went here this past week for a date while we were on vacation. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and quality of the food and service. I could tell that the staff was doing their best even though I could tell as a former restaurant employee that they did not have enough help. Our waitress was very friendly, courteous and attentive. Our food was delicious and very, very fresh! I've seen a lot of negative reviews here, but I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The only reason for the 4 star is b/c we have terrible service before we encountered Noonie!!! I came here back in July while on a birthday trip with some of my friends. The view was absolutely beautiful around sunset, and the back patio has a good view of some nice boats. They had a great wine list, and nearly everything on the menu sounded so delicious. The house salads that come with most of the menu items are​ different than a "normal" house salad. It's got these great little mandarin orange slices on it instead of tomatoes and cucumbers. I feel that it really helps add ​the personality of the place​​ ​since they have some sushi options. It was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer, and everyone liked them. All were satisfied with their entree choice as well. I had the catch of the day (red snapper) which was very good. A few bites were a bit salty but over all very good and it had a lot of flavor. Nice salad with mandarin oranges and romaine lettuce came with the meal. Just a bit heavy on the dressing so I would recommend asking for it on the side. This is another Destin restaurant that charges five star prices for 2 or 3 star food. C'mon guys - up your game! We had a side of shrimp and the Uptown shrimp - both over cooked. The seaweed salad was good. We were a party of 7 and put at a table for 6 people. So, I sat and ate at the corner of the table. My family and ate here last night and our experience was not great. I got the vegetable. pad thai and it had an odd flavor over everything in the dish that I can't really describe. My mom said her food was inedible. The Fried Green Tomato appetizer was good though! The view from this place was also very nice and tranquil. We arrived late right before closing. We were seated quickly and our waitress was awesome. She walked us through the menu and chatted with us about fishing. I tried the gumbo and it was really good. Spicy the way I like it. The salad was plain but very tasty. I got the chef platter. The fish and crab cake was cooked just right. The kids had sushi. You wouldn't think about getting sushi here but it was good and fresh. The restaurant looks like a place where locals would hang out. Price wise it was a little high, but what in Destin isn't? Had an amazing lunch here! I ordered the blackened grouper and my girlfriend had the grouper tacos. Both were very good, but I'd pick the blackened grouper over the tacos! The service was good and had a decent beer selection. We sat on the back deck, which was very nice. Overall I'd return here again on my next trip. FYI, for those who are concerned, masks were non-existent here. My party and I were the minority by wearing masks. After watching a review of this restaurant on the "Beach News" station in our condo, we were all very excited for our dinner here. ....however, we were quite disappointed by our meals and service. We were seated within in 30 minutes after being given a wait of one to one and a half hours. It then took nearly 15 minutes for our waitress to come to our table at which point she explained the entree options and took both our drink and meal orders. When my 19 yr old son asked the side options for his entree, she informed him, " I already told you that!" Not quite the right foot to get off on - we were seated outside with boats and a loud table nearby...maybe he just didn't hear her. Two of our party ordered sprite and the syrup had ran out - it happens, no big deal - but the waitress didn't return to check on us for quite some time, so my 14 yr old son took the glasses inside, explained the situation, and got our new drinks. The food came fairly quickly and 3 of my 5 were disappointed. My middle son had the grilled fish of the day tacos - it was supposed to come with a mango salsa and chipotle slaw. We honestly can't tell you what was on it... it appeared to be yam-colored and pureed - not appetizing. My son's girlfriend ordered the stuffed gulf shrimp - it appeared they had wrapped their version of a crab cake around the shrimp and wrapped it in bacon. Unfortunately, very greasy and not at all appetizing - she was nauseous the rest of the evening. I ordered the gulf grouper parmadine with mashed potatoes and green beans (veggie of the day). The fish was dry and seemed as if it had been under a heat lamp most of the day. The potatoes were flavorless. The other 2 in our party had the chef's platter - they were satisfied, but I tried their crab cakes and was not impressed - greasy, crumbly, and as if they had deep fried in breading. I believe our waitress only check on us 2-3 times during our entire 1+ hour visit. The one plus to it all was catching the 9pm fireworks show hosted by Harbor Walk Village. Overall, I would not choose this restaurant again. read more

The location and the setting was fantastic. I went to this restaurant on my 22yr Anniversary celebrating love and life. Unfortunately we had to wait for over an hour until our food came which made the kids cranky and our beautiful night ugly. The food was prepared well but seemed to have been sitting for a while. The manager/owner apologized and said it was a busy weekend and paid for our appetizers, which was a nice gesture. Worst possible service. You shouldn't have to ask 3 times for each thing you need and later be dismissed by the manager. Food barely passable with the exception of the gumbo, which isn't given that it had literally no seafood in it; basically just rice and celery. How does that happen? Looking to try a new place today we settled on Harbor Docks. We have driven by many times but never stopped. We are glad we did! With the many menu options to choose from and the added bonus sushi menu made it difficult to choose. There are so many delectable items to choose from. We settled on Conch nigiri for an app, grilled shrimp and a grilled black grouper sandwich. All of the items were excellent and the side dishes were as much a hit as the main feature Prices are very affordable and much better than many of the other spots to chose from and has a local feel more so than a tourist spot. We chose this restaurant for a bachelorette trip dinner. The bartender was very unaccommodating right out of the gate as she made a drink for one of the three girls sitting at the bar and it was awful and she was hesitant and uncaring when I asked to change it to something else, not to mention she was charged $15 for this drink!!! The rest of our party arrived to the restaurant a girl that was 28 showed her ID and was denied alcohol. As the bartender believed her ID was not real because it was a Colorado ID, but she had flown in for the bachelorette trip. There were three moms on this trip the three moms order drinks at which time the bartender took it upon herself to arrive at the table to check everyone's IDs. service was awful. Food took forever. Food was not good and it was just an overall bad experience. the bartender, then took it upon herself to follow two of the girls out of the restaurant, asking their name and informing them that she was calling all the bartenders on the harborwalk to let them know not to serve these girls, this was very undeserving, as there were no harsh words whatsoever between our party and the bartender despite her awful attitude and service! Can't say the restaurant is bad other than our waitress was terrible and our food was not served properly and it was not good, but minus the awful bartender service maybe our perspective might have been a little different. read more

Wonderful welcome by the GM! Sat at the bar to get a good feel for this place and perhaps some conversation. Great beer, mediocre cocktails, and that's it! Inattentive bartender and apprentice who didn't know the drink menu. Wanted to eat but no service. Empty glass, empty belly, left with an empty impression of a supposedly good place. Unfortunately, empty-headed bar staff are not versed in service. Mike was only concerned with talking with people that he knew. Big ego in a small pond. Returned for lunch the next day to give this local haunt with good credentials another chance. Passed the bar... on to the outdoor deck and feasted on grouper and swordfish! Wow! Seafood with Asian influence is how we described it. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The four of us all had different entrees from the menu and each of them were delicious.
