12.12.22 stopped in here to pick up a tool for my hubby. We (yes, I said we...I do demo too) are doing demo at our new house and we needed of a few large chisels. They don't need to be top of the line tools so these will work perfect. HF had a set of 6 on sale for $9.99!!! Bonus! Love finding what I need on sale. This location was super tidy. I don't Harbor any resentment at all towards this tool shop, believe it or not. If you do, then you're probably a tool, and could be sold here. It's actually a really nice tool shop, and it's great to come here rather than to pay more at Lowe's or Home Depot, but one thing is for sure that it's nice to keep your money within this community, and the only problem is the long wait times which is why I reduced by one star. It's definitely a much better place than those horrible big box stores, if you know what I mean. read more

First time in the store. It was like walking into a candy store as a kid except it was all DIY stuff teasing me! Every which way I looked. All these glorious ideas going through my head!!! I'm remodeling my garage so... just the toolboxes had my main attention. The guys were great at answering my questions. Great service from the floor to the cashier at the front! One can get lost in this store, I was seeing stuff that was marked down, and was making a visual list in my head... reminding myself that I was only there to check out the tool boxes!!!! I picked a few things here and there but had to escort myself out of the store as my wallet was screaming.... Let's spend let's spend!!! Not today!!! But I will be back!!! Just a cool store!! Are you serious right now? This store sucks ass. The employees here can kiss my ass. I came in to get a tool bag and I brought it upfront before I could find a tape measure and measure the width of the bag to find out as too wide. The young lady behind the counter said that she would take the bag and that I wouldn't have to return it to the shelf. I took my basket and nested it inside another basket that was nearby. One of the employees came out behind me with both baskets bitching at me, telling me that the basket return was outside. Are you kidding me right now. Harbor freight is going down. I love coming to harbor freight and just walking around. I've joined the club they have and I have given them lots of money. This will be short and sweet. Harbor freight is the perfect place to go and get tools for your first time and to see if you really need the tool and to learn how to use it. They make it just cheap enough to afford you that mini luxury. This location is different compared to the others I've been to though, they are not very good at getting customers in and out. The lines take forever and it's usually one person behind the counter with everyone else walking around or in the office. If you can handle the 15-25 minute wait time then this is perfect for you. read more

I bought a Predator 9500 from them and it stopped working correctly so I came in, explained the problem, and that I just wanted to exchange it. I decided to swap my 9500 for 2 Predator 3500s and purchase the additional parallel kit to connect them together. Everyone was accommodating, and within minutes I was on my way with the new generators. No more than a week later, the 3500s stopped working correctly. Frustrated and disappointed, I returned to Harbor Freight to try and just get my money back since now I had 3 Predator generators that failed. Harbor Freight refused to give me back my money and said I now needed to pay $180 for each generator to be restocked. I'm not sure why I have to pay for an item that doesn't work to be restocked! To go along with this, not once was a restocking fee ever mentioned to me! The Manager then tells me there was nothing they can do and that I needed to call the Corporate Office. While still in Harbor Freight, I call Corporate and they aren't any help either. They told me that someone higher up in the company would have to be the one to approve the return in order to get my money back and I should hear from someone within a few days. Well, it's now been a little over a week and I've heard from absolutely no one! So now I'm stuck with 2 broken generators and a useless parallel kit! All-in-all, use caution when buying from this company, apparently, they're just money hungry and could care less about whether their products work or not. read more

I understand that's these is one of the most affordable tool store but man I purchased a rail hose of $135.00 and the next 3 months work perfectly and the next weeks the rail stops so I took it for and exchange and the "GM" say he can't do nothing and walk away I think is fuck up that we should be treated better the. I have to say I'm a fan of Harbor Freight. If you come here expecting Craftsman or Snap-on quality tools your are shopping at the wrong place. Yes, some of the tools are of low quality (Pittsburgh brand) but they are inexpensive and serve a purpose. That being said you can also find some real bargains. I purchased a belt sander, drill press and buffer from Harbor Freight a few years ago and they are still working great. Most of the items here are about half the price that you would pay at Sears or one of the larger hardware stores. Be sure to sign up for their emails, they will send you coupons once a week. Also check the Sunday paper as you will likely find a coupons for a free item, everything from gloves, tarps, flashlights, screwdrivers and tape measures. read more

Ill be honest Harbor Freight is not my first choice for the tools I use everyday, (I'm a machinist/performance engine builder) but for things I use occasionally... heck ya if I can save money and get the tool on the cheap ... definitely! On this visit I needed some tin snips and a couple C clamps for a project I was working on. Let me say the tin snips were 10 bucks for a set of 3, they were sharp and worked perfectly the clamps performed just as well but the real star of our visit was Kerin ( I hope I spelled that correctly) she was cheerful and helpful, she noticed the check out line was growing and opened another reggister being sure to "take the next person in line" when it was our turn she noticed I was unaware of the discount available and free offer. This was long overdue for Katy, they are finally here. They have been open for a while and I think this is my 2nd or 3rd time here. Its like a men's Walmart for tools and equipment. If you get on their email list you will receive coupons that you can put to use. I used to have to drive down to Sugarland if I wanted to shop here before. I have purchased all types of tools, jacks and polishers from here at a good price and they seem to have good quality as they have lasted to this day. Store staff is not updating their local inventory on the Harbor Freight App/Website. The 2 items that I went to purchase at the store stated they were in stock on the App/Website, however that was not the case when I got to the store. Local staff member did check in the back for me, but did not find the items I was looking for. First thing you do is sign up for the sales text and enjoy their frequent 20% off coupon. If you need to buy a large purchase go buy a car or home improvement magazine and get the coupon out of their ad along with the free tape measure or flashlight with purchase. Ok lets address the quality. I bought a sliding compound miter saw there over 15 years ago for $90 and it still works to this day. I use it probably more than most weekenders but not as much as a contractor. It cuts through everything I need and is at least $300 cheaper than what I would have bought, If it dies tomorrow i will have more than gotten money out of it and I will go back and buy another one just like it. I have bought several tools there and been very pleased. I did get a grinder that was less than satisfactory. As long as you have your receipt they will make things right. There are some things that I would not buy but its just common sense. if it looks like poor quality pass on it. But the same $6 pack of zip ties you can get here for $1 on sale. Like I said there is some things I would stay away from but I have had good luck with their saws, hand tools, ratchet straps and many more items. read more

I received a flyer in the mail, so I went, I saw and against my better judgement, I bought. All of their machines start with central so my 3 gal 100 psi compressor was made by central pnumatics. Absolute junk! Even at 39 bucks I felt cheated. It took 5 min to charge the tank up, and it had to recharge itself 3 times just to inflate a todlers bicycle tire. Returned it only to learn there is a 20% restock fee. So I announced that only 4 more people to return this one and it will be paid for. I guess that if you consistently win the razzies for tools and hardware, you have to be inventive on how you get or keep money because yall will never see another dime of mine. read more

I ordered and paid for my predator 22 hp v-twin engine on July 4th in store and got 25% off. I went back a week later to check when I could expect the engine to come in and the manager said he would call me later that day. He never did call. I returned to the store a couple of days later after no return call to check on the status and no one knew if it had even been ordered. This little game went on all the way up to today 7/28. No one ever gave me a phone call or message. I went in today 7/28 and asked the manager what was the status on my engine, he said the can not order it and would have to refund my money. He said I would have to go online and order the engine. I told him I would like a 25% off code so I can use it when I purchase the motor online since the one on July 4th had expired. The manager said he could not do that. I was upset and asked for corporates phone number and he gave me the phone number to check on an order (how unprofessional of him). I eventually got a hold of someone and filed a complaint, they said they will get back to me. This whole run around had cost me time and money because I did not have my pressure wash rig up and running. I am very disappointed in the 0 communication and they waited almost a month to inform me that the motor could not be ordered. I have purchased many items from the various Harbor Freight tool stores in Houston area, but had a terrible experience at the Katy store recently. I was charged a price for an item which was 50% greater than the price shown on the shelf, and then when I asked why the price was inconsistent, I was told jibberish by the sales clerks who said it was an erroneous (old) tag. No offer for any help, no offer for making a price adjustment due to their error, it was 100% 'my problem'? I'm not sure this is even consistent with state law. Buyer beware at the Katy Harbor Freight, the price on the shelf may not be the price you are charged, and short of returning the item, you are SOL as far as the zero customer service and focus shown by the workers at this location! read more

I am very happy to have the new store in the Katy area. I do a lot of volunteer work so this is a good place to buy one time use items.
