Staff at front was friendly and store was small and easy to navigate. My husband told me wanted what he wanted for his wish list when he had a bigger workshop. We picked up a couple of items for Father's Day shopping. New Cute coffee shop, Brewed Up, is next door. This is my first visit to Harbor Freight in my life and I would say it is affordable and easy to navigate. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out on a Saturday morning. I've been a customer for this company and an employee. Also been shopping here since I was 16 and I in my opinion this company is great for the simple things that are well priced compared to others. I do think that most of the more particular items suck as pumps and power tools maybe better found elsewhere. Even tho the power tools are warrantied, the products usually are only useful for residential type tasks. I say this because I started a project and started to constantly be using the tools I bought from here and they started to ware much faster then say tools I've bought elsewhere. My brother went to this store twice, he wanted to buy a box for tools and the lady at the check out didn't want to sell it to him because his car was small (we had a friend to pick up the box in his truck) she gave him a lot of excuses and today he came back and I came with him to be able to translate because we thought maybe communication was a problem but she and her supervisor had a racist attitude anyway. BAD EXPERIENCE - Harbor Freight Lawrenceville GA. I am a professional mechanic and collector of antique cars. I have bought many thousands of dollars at HF, but recently got stung with a problem and the store manager made it worse instead of helping me. I AM ASKING FOR A REFUND! I bought a 9,000 pound Badlands Winch at this store. It was not enough for my use. I bought a 12,000 pound Badlands winch for an upgrade. Within the usual 30 day period, I tried to return the 9,000 Badlands winch. I could not find the receipt. In the past, HF just looks up the item and give a refund. THIS TIME, "NO". The winch is very heavy, still in the box, new unused. It weighs 76 pounds!! I am 76 years old. I had to carry it to my car, drove to HF, carried it into the store and was told, by the store manager, Faye, that HF was growing so fast they were no longer able to keep track of receipts. Carried it back into my car, then home to take it back in my shop. 76 pounds, at my age of 76 years old. She told me that I should try to sell it on eBay! Is this customer service? If you are a do it your self kind of person you will love Harbor Freight Tools. They sell everything from hand tool to power tools to generators , household items at low prices. Typically 30 to 50 percent cheaper than Home depot, Loews and Sears. Personally I have been shopping here over ten years . Harbor Freight Tools all ways have weekly sales that can be found on there weekly flyer that can be mailed to you , in store or online. I addition wit there flyers are coupons that offer deeper discounts like free items and 25% discounts on any item in store that are found inside flyers or used online with your mobile phone. They also lifetime warranty on specific hand tools and optional extended warranty on power tools and air tools. Service is ok. Meaning the staff is not going to walk up to you if you need help. You will need to flag some one down and they will help you or radio somebody if they cant . read more

I have a few craft hobbies that require odd ball tools that are kinda hard to find from time to time. Harbor Freight has come through for me several times. Great place to get discount tools, especially starter sets when you are on a budget. Some items might not be great quality or some latches on the boxes of cheaper assembled tool kits. Aside from that, I usually stock up on vinyl gloves, mechanics gloves, spring clamps, low profile jacks, magnet trays, moving dollys, shorter length extension cords and electrician screwdrivers. The mechanic sockets are sometimes just ok. The cheaper kit ones aren't really worth it unless you're just replacing a couple of sockets and it's cheaper just getting the set. While I have always had a good experience with Harbor Freight stores but today's experience was less than pleasant. I had found a product on the HFT website that I wanted to purchase today rather than order on-line. The website indicated the Lawrenceville GA had the item in-stock. After a 20 mile drive to the store I went to the section of the store where the item would normally be on shelf display. I was not able to locate the product on the shelf and ask a store associate for assistance. The associate could not locate the item and passed me off to someone who appeared to work in the stock room at the back of the store. I described the item as best i could which was apparently insufficient. I tried to gain access to the HFT website via my phone but was having coverage issues in the store and asked if it was possible to use or have assistance using the store system but the only response was let us know if you find it on your phone. Guess they felt it was my fault for not printing out the Web Page and item number and not their job to help. When I returned home I checked the HFT website and confirmed that the others HFT stores in Buford and Duluth had the item in stock. Called the Lawrenceville store and asked if they had the Item in stock and the Manager (at least he said he was the manager) said they had two in stock there as well. I told the manager what I thought of his store and their terrible customer. All he said was OK. The best I can say is stay far away from this store as they could care less about the customer. Went to the Buford store the Item was on the shelf as they said it was and was in and out in a matter of minutes. Don't know if HFT stores are franchised or or if they are company owned but if company owned they need to send some corporate trainers to L'ville read more

The toy store! I live right by this location which makes it easy to pop in for all the freebies and constantly take advantage of the current 20 or 25% coupons. The pegboard in my garage looks like I'm about to open my own Harbor Freight from all the freebies and staples - ropes, tarps, tie-downs, cable ties, wire wraps, etc. If there's a downside, and I won't ding them for it, is I think they've made me a less organized person overall. When I want to do a project, I usually just stop and get everything instead of going home and looking for what need and already have. Not many of their items are going to win any prizes for durability and longevity, but that's not what it's about, and then there are some real gems in there, too. My first $20 cordless drill lasted about 12 years before getting hinky and upgrading to the $25 one. That one will probably go past the life span of DeWalts et al (between the two drills) for $45 total. The generators are world class and I understand the floor jacks are the best selling in the world. And then there's all the one-off stuff you may or may not ever use a second time anyway. No real point in dissing fit and finish there. My perspective is as a homeowner and hobbyist. I certainly wouldn't get power tools from there if I were a contractor, but again they don't get a ding because that's not the philosophy of the place anyway. The hand tools, incidentally, are guaranteed for life, something I've only taken advantage of once over the years for something I pretty badly abused. I'm going there right now! read more

WOW. The employees at this store must have been fired at fast food and decided to get a job here. I called to ask about a specific part number to make sure it was in stock before driving a 60 miles round trip to pick the item up. I also had to call a friend with a truck to help out and didn't want to waste his time either. They assured me that plenty of this part in stock and when I got there? NO, they had ZERO but did have an alternate part which is not what I called and asked them. The manager did not offer anything but with a crappy attitude told me I could take it or leave it with the alternate part number. No apology, zip, nada for wasting my time and gas. My summer "honey do" list has been growing and so I decided to get some tools I needed so I could cross some things off of the list. I've received harbor freight flyers in the mail and thought that they had some good deals. I decided to take the drive to check it out. They had pretty much every tool you could think of...and some I hadn't. The prices were very competitive BUT be warned that they aren't all of top quality. I just needed the basics (socket set, screw drivers, etc). I did notice that some of the items there didn't look well made so you probably wouldn't get a lot of use before breaking it. Overall the deals outweight the small stuff and it's worth the trip. read more

Yes....everything here at "Shanghai Harbor Freight Tools" is imported from China and is of the not so finest quality....but are the lowest unbelievable prices ... making it a good deal for projects you undertake yourself if you do not want to invest in a lot of expensive tools. So if you do choose cheap....this is the best place ....but please buy the extended warranty when available. Also register on line for coupons and if you plan on making substantial purchases within a calendar year then get the $30 discount card for further savings. Been shopping here for years and thousands of dollars of stuff .......most hand tools tend to last but the power tools will usually suffer premature death ( warranty...warranty ). Beginners welding machines are good...mine is and others I've talked to there agree. Good selection of packaged hardware...like a hardware store too. Even a fair selection of garden, camping, toys, mini-tools, ...a very interesting place to just browse especially if you are a do it yourselfer.
