Five years ago I got my first grownup job in this area, and was presented with the enormous task of picking a new doctor. I had very little help as most of my friends were mostly accustomed to student health services, the essential but terrible health care of grad. students in any local university. Being unceremoniously presented with a phone book sized listing of providers from Blue Cross & Blue Shield provided nothing in the way of actual assistance in making a decision. I didn't choose Dr. Holt exactly randomly, but my criteria wasn't exactly scientific. I looked for listings that were: close to my apartment at the time, female, fairly young and with an American sounding name. In short somebody who I felt I could relate to and would feel comfortable asking questions of. I was more than willing to try multiple doctors until I found one that I could be comfortable with. As it turned out I didn't have to. I hit the jackpot on my first try with Dr. Holt. Dr. Holt is extremely thorough, taking actual time to have a conversation with me about medical concerns and also about general lifestyle choices. As a fairly healthy person I generally see her only 1-2 times a year, but she always appears to remember the conversations that we've had on previous visits. Her warmth and genuineness match the knowledge and skill she brings to her profession. Also, I don't want to over-share, but the ladies out there will understand the difficulty in finding a PCP who is willing to perform basic GYN care. Dr. Holt does both, and I love not having to keep two separate annual checkups. There's also a lab center on site. So convenient! I've had pretty good results in getting 'sick' appointment, never having to wait for more than 48 hours. However, I debated taking this review down a star because of how long it takes to make appointments for physicals or routine checkups. (Sometimes up to a month.) In the end I decided that all of the positives FAR outweigh this one minor issue.

She remembers all the details of not only my medical history, but my personal life as well. She listens to my concerns and creates treatment plans to address them. Three of my friends have become patients and rave about her too. If you can get in to see her, do it.

Dr. Cuchural is an infectious diseases doctor and also a primary care doctor. I have been a medical puzzle for years and Dr. Cuchural found things that other doctors haven't even heard of let alone tested me for! I am so thankful to have answers. Dr. Cuchural often works very late into the night because unlike other doctors, he spends as much time with a patient as he or she needs. He doesn't rush or cut appointments short and genuinely cares for his patients. If you stump him with a question, he will pull all of his electronic gadgets out and look up the answer for you. He fits patients in last minute even if it means he has to stay even later. He has the most wonderful bedside manner, which is imperative to me because I have severe anxiety. Julie, the nurse, is just as amazing. She is has a dry sense of humor and is absolutely hysterical, which helps when I'm feeling particularly anxious or overwhelemed from medical issues. I have literally walked in there crying many times and come out smiling. It's always a pleasure seeing her. I feel incredibly blessed to have been referred to Dr. Cuchural's office and hope that this review reaches someone else he may be able to help.

The hardware is positioned wrong I complained to Dr murphy since first postop visit only to be sent to get cortisone injections and PT. He will never admit he is ever wrong or take you seriously. X-rays doesn't show this problem but he kept doing xrays and never offered more sophisticated imaging. (Dx: iliopsoas irritation after THR caused by retroverted or oversized acetabular cup) This could have been easily redone immediately after surgery but now 11 years out would be a major surgery. I recently tried to get a prescription filled on a Thursday before a long weekend; however, there was a glitch and it never got sent. I called on Saturday and left a message with a covering physician who said there was not much she could do until Tuesday but that she would contact Dr. Zabik, (very nice thing to do). Later that day, Dr. Zabik called my home and left a message that she had called it in for me. I did not ask her to do that but she did it because she is such a caring physician. As someone who has multiple medical problems needing close monitoring and treatment, that is saying a lot. Dr. McNagny not only delivers thorough, smart, and impeccable care to me, she treats me with respect as a human and as a whole person, not just as a patient. When I had a (successful!) major surgery recently, Dr. McNagny spent a solid three months leading up to it checking in with me at least weekly to get me ready. She motivated me to get and be well--pricless. Her Masters in Public Health gives her extra understanding of how our American medical system works (or does not). She uses her savvy to the great benefit of her patients by advocating in ways I never knew possible. Also, her staff know me by name and are all great at what they do. Dr. Lamprey was my primary care physician for several years. I was bummed when I moved too far…read moreaway and had to find a new doctor. She always provided excellent care and follow-up. I developed a rare, serious condition and her office got me an urgent-care appointment near my home right away when I called after-hours. I had to be hospitalized that nite and Dr. Lamprey called the next day to make sure I was okay and provide information and recommendations for next steps. I was able to get an appointment with her for a few days later to follow-up and when I needed regular follow-up testing for the next few weeks I didn't have trouble being seen. For routine appointments I think there was often a few-month backlog but that seems to be normal for doctors in the area (happens with my current doctor as well). Dr. Lamprey provided great care and was easy to talk to and I'd definitely recommend her as a physician.
