Not sure how I haven't reviewed this business yet, as I've been going for a long time. When people ask me how my dentist is, I tell them that I am so at ease when I am being taken care here of that I have fallen asleep in the chair with the dental scraper in my mouth. Multiple times. Dr. Patel and Dr. Khashayar are always warm, calm, and give you their full attention. They discuss multiple options for treatment, and how best to address issues I am having, whether that be with treatment or lifestyle changes. Unlike virtually all medical practices I have been to, I almost never wait more than a minute when arriving for my appointment. One time I had to wait five minutes and Dr. Patel felt so bad that she gave me a Starbucks gift card. I've been coming since the office opened however many years ago, and I've never had even a remotely negative experience. Highly recommended. read more

I use to love coming here until recently when the woman at the front desk told me I couldn't cancel an appointment during A HURRICANE. I was working from home and couldn't leave due to many projects going on at once, but I still tried to go. I also saw it was pouring outside and had multiple statewide messages advising us against the weather. Still, during a hurricane (and yes, a pandemic because we are still in one), the woman at the front desk gave me an attitude and sounded more annoyed at me asking to reschedule and she told me they were going to charge me a $75 fee. I'm never coming here again and I hope this can help any future visitors on how the front desk will treat you at least. read more

BEWARE- THEY WILL BALANCE BILL YOU AND NOT TELL YOU YOUR INSURANCE IS OUT OF NETWORK. They're website states they are in network with most health plans, this is not true. I texted, called, and went my insurance info to them and not once did they say I was out of network. I have United Healthcare PPO, a large common insurance, and one would think if a practice is in network with "most major insurance plans, including PPOs" then there's no problem. Not only did they bill my insurance and collect from them, they then wanted $600 extra for a preventative visit that is covered 100% by my insurance. ASK HOW MUCH YOU WILL OWE AFTER INSURANCE. They then began to bargain with me like a used car salesman indicating their prices are made up and are only trying to profit off their unsuspecting patients. I am so disappointed with this practice and will be reaching out to the CT dept of Heath. read more

Dr. Patel is the best dentist I've ever been to! The staff is wonderful and personable. Small touches like warm face clothes, massage chairs, and a relaxing ambiance really make the difference. I've been to dentists that make you feel horrible if you have a cavity. They don't do that here. They are knowledgeable and explain every step. I'm also getting Clear Correct here and it's been a great process. Dr. Patel has explained the whole process and really cares about my smile. Pricing is reasonable too. Stamford Dental Spa has been my go to dentist for the last 3 years - luckily I haven't had to go very often, only once every six months, but when I am there, the quality of service is always superb. In addition, there is very little paperwork, even if you change dental plans, because the staff at the front desk take care of everything for you. I used to love going here, never had any issues up until recently when I emailed them in regards to my children. I just wanted to see how much their insurance would cover. When I found out it wouldn't cover much, I simply stated that I would unfortunately have to look around. After speaking to my husband, we decided that instead of switching dentists we would switch dental insurance, so again I emailed them to find out which insurance company they work best with. Well, instead of getting an answer to my question I was told to go elsewhere because I "left a bad review online" which I NEVER did, up until today. Dr Patel is a great dentist, her office staff, however, should learn not to falsely accuse people. Because of those accusations she has lost 5 patients and earned a very negative review. read more

When I moved to Stamford about 4 years ago, I was looking for a local dental office and I came across this one. They had a promotion running at the time for a free set of professional whitening strips so I figured why not. I would never go anywhere else now, would even travel. It's the best office I have ever been to and can honestly recommend it to everyone/anyone without blinking an eye. Not only do they have a beautiful "spa like" office but top of the line equipment and best staff. Never have I felt more comfortable at the dentist. When I get my teeth cleaned by Dawn K I experience no pain and feel amazing when I leave. I can tell that she really enjoys what she does and it shows. Every time I go that's who I ask for. I also want to note that they never jump to conclusions when work may need to be done. They always let me know of any potential issues and tell me to keep an eye on it before they would recommend a fill or such. I've never been a huge fan of the dentist, or dental hygienists for that matter. However, Dr. Patel and her staff are patient, friendly, and nonjudgmental - even when I admitted that I don't floss as often as I should :-x The office is clean, bright, and modern. I went in for an initial exam and discovered that my previous dentist didn't do an awesome job filling a cavity on a back molar, so I scheduled an appointment for a filling and cleaning. I felt very comfortable throughout my appointments, both mentally and physically. Dr. Patel and the staff take time to answer questions fully, even the more thorough and detailed ones I asked. They communicated very well with each other as professionals and with me as a patient, and explained what they were doing and why each step of the way. Monica has never been anything but helpful and personable, even when I switched insurance providers, so I'm going to have to vehemently disagree with Karen F. I personally find their payment policy refreshing. Part of the reason I always hated dentists was that I always left feeling like I had been scammed. I found this dentist based off Yelp reviews and I'm so glad I did. I work in CT most of the year and live in NY. Even if I get fully transferred to NY, I will definitely keep Dr. Patel. My experience: I made my appt online via email since I was too busy with work to call during office hours. They were very accommodating and I had no issue doing this. I walk in. It is like a "spa". There is an ocean waves crashing on a beach video playing on the screen. The decor is a light sea blue green painted walls with modern furniture. The secretary is extremely smiley and friendly... I soon find out that the whole staff is smiley and friendly, including Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel brings me into her office for a consultation. She does not jump into my cleaning and asks me why I'm there. A good dentist who cares is extremely important to me. I get prepped for my cleaning with x-rays. Dr. Patel personally goes over my x-rays with me and goes into detail with me so I'm not left clueless. She does my cleaning for me and explains to me what's going on as she goes. The technology for cleaning is pretty up-to-date, which I like a lot. Dr. Patel used this streaming water pen to clean my teeth instead of the usual horrid flossing and metal tools that dentists usually use. She adjusted the water stream's pressure based on the sensitivity of my teeth. You get heat activated hand softening gloves and sit in a "massage" chair, which is a chair that just vibrates in odd spots. I didn't end up using it, but others may like it. After you're done, they give you the usual toothbrush and floss, but they also give you professional teeth whitening trays! I've recommended Dr. Patel to my boyfriend, his family and my whole team at work. I would recommend her to anybody. Excellent customer service from her and her office. read more

I have the most horrible luck with my teeth, but I feel very lucky to have found Stamford Dental Spa. I went for my first appt. today and they were awesome in every way. On top of the general spa-like serenity (which is very nice, but not a priority for me) of Stamford Dental Spa, Dr. Patel and her assistant Jasmine had all kinds of new tricks to share with me to keep my mouth cavity-free. They have a very proactive approach and put together a whole plan for me to follow daily (since I am a "high risk" patient with a ton of work already done). I will do just about anything to avoid fillings, so was very pleased to see such proactive approach. Everyone in the office was super friendly and really seems to genuinely care about their patients and again, it is a really peaceful atmosphere. Very happy to have found this spot! Friendly and professional dentist, as well as her staff. The office and dental equipment are very modern. Parking is next to her office, which costs about 1 dollar, so bring some quarters. The very first appointment is just a consultation, so be sure to ask if your insurance will cover it all/ cover a portion of it. My family's insurance plan 100% covers cleanings and xrays, but would not cover the consultation and they received a bill owing money to our insurance company. Although the consultation is not free, I thought it was a nice way to get acquainted with Dr. Patel and her staff. After my consultation, I scheduled my cleaning appointment for the following day. I was also able to get a second opinion about a dental issue which was addressed by my previous dentist in Manhattan. The dental issue required a minor surgery. Dr Patel saw the issue as well, but took a more liberal approach and decided to monitor it. If the problem gets worse within the next six months, then should would do the surgery. I think that her decision showed that she really cares about her patients' well being and it's not all about the $$$ for her. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. The staff is very friendly, and very helpful! The dentist is very nice, and caring. She really takes a lot of time to get to know you and your mouth! ;) When I sat down in the dental chair, they give me a remote to control the massage intensity of the chair. That's right!!! Their dental chair is a massage chair! They also gave me gloves to put on my hands that had lotion inside of them. At the end of the cleaning, my hands were so smooth! I actually expected to have a hygienist clean my teeth, but the dentist took care of this on her own. She gives a real authentic exam, and uses cutting edge technology which is comforting. She also gives you free whitening packs to bring home with you every time you get a cleaning. Free whitening for life is their motto! I am very impressed with her service, and I highly recommend anyone to her practice! read more

Very thorough cleaning. Not your typical 2 scrapes and done so they can march 100 customers through a day. They also didn't make me feel bad about my smile that I need all this cosmetic procedures done like other dentists I've been to (gap teeth). Also, there was no pressure to remove my wisdom teeth which is unnecessary, but plenty have suggested "just to be safe" because it's covered on my health insurance. Very relaxing experience and helpful & knowledgeable staff. Super friendly receptionist. Dr. Patel and her staff are very caring and have all new and modern equipment. After just moving to the area a bunch of people in my office recommended this Dental Office. What a pleasant place! You can tell everyone there really goes out of their way to make sure you are having a good experience through out the whole process. The waiting area has plenty to read, coffee, water, and some soothing music in the background. It's really clean and modern inside too and the receptionists are super friendly. As a new patient my first appointment was just a consultation with Dr. Patel. She is really nice and goes over everything thoroughly. Once I had my consultation my cleaning appointment was booked 2 days later. During the cleaning you get to sit in a massage chair and get a lotion treatment for your hands! They also use a newer technology which was a little different using water and pressure instead of just scraping. All in all this is a fantastic place where everyone tries to make you feel comfortable and have as nice of an experience as you can at the dentist! read more

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. The staff is amazing! Everyone from reception, to hygienist to the main dentist (Dr. Mamta!) is top notch! Strong values: I had another dentist recommend two invasive root canal procedures which were quite expensive. However, Dr. Mamta Patel examined my teeth and instead suggested a cheaper, non-invasive cavity filling. It has been over a year and those cavity fillings are doing great! Excellent Service/Advice: Dr. Mamta and her staff is very patient with every question we need answered and they take care of all your individual preferences. This is like a real "spa" as its name suggested. The dental chairs have massage/heating option. The cover your hands with lotion and plastic covers to keep them moisturized while they work on you! Couldn't fill a tooth temporarily because "there was nothing for the filling to hold on to." Wasted my time for an emergency dental situation for the dentist to tell me my tooth was badly chipped and I needed a root canal. I couldn't get an appointment that day so she basically sent me out without helping. I could have gotten an infection from an open tooth! Went to my regular dentist, who I should have gone to originally but he is farther away from my job and home. He filled the tooth temporarily and made me an appointment for further treatment. Will never go again to this dentist if a simple temporary filling cannot be done, this is BASIC dentistry! Office staff is very nice, office manager was especially kind and accommodating. I just don't like the dentist. She worried me unnecessary, telling me I had "lots of issues", dry mouth (which I do not, I was just nervous!) and told me that "this has been going on a long time." Yes, I'm unfortunately acutely aware that my extreme fear of the dentist has now put me in a bad situation. I'm not dumb, I'm just terrified of the dentist! I brush 3 times a day and floss all the time but alas this was not enough to keep the dentist away. Long story short, this dentist sent me out of her office without a temporary filling and this is not acceptable! read more

After being a patient for a few years I need to update my review on this office. After missing an appointment the office manager informs me I am required to pay a $75 late fee, a fee that was never disclosed to me as a patient. Not only will the fee not be waived after years of customer referrals and continued cosmetic work with this practice I sent an email and left a message requesting to speak with the dentist in regards to this issue and no one, not Christine the office manager or Dr. Patel have responded. I was told dr. Patel doesn't handle customer service issues Christine does. Clearly they don't value customer service anymore. Beware new patients this isn't the same office it once was. read more

They are very nice, but Dr Patel caused a major problem in my mouth. I've had tons of pain --ongoing, to the point where I've hardly been able to eat, have pounding headaches from the pain, and have developed a huge lump in my jaw underneath the tooth she damaged. I've been back to her 5 or 6 times to try to fix it, but I've finally decided to see another dentist. Also, their hours say that they are open 5 days a week, but when you try to schedule an appointment, after a while you'll learn that Dr Patel is usually only there Tues-Thurs which makes it hard to get an appointment. I'd be in pain and unable to get an appointment for weeks! They are all super nice -- but I need more than that read more

There are better dentists in Stamford who charge significantly less for their services and will also not charge you the remaining deductible above and beyond what the insurance pays. This office charges more for their services to begin with. This office is a money making machine. I have also heard them complain about customers in a separate room while the patient is being worked on in a separate room. I called to make an appointment as a new client and was surprised to learn there was an opening the next day. Arriving at the office, the reception area is spanking clean, very cordial receptionist (Thanks, Sandy!) and after contacting my insurance, she relayed the information on what was covered and what my cost would be for the visit. Following my very high-tech x-ray procedure, I was seated in your typical dental lounger, and was handed a control for the massage and heat buttons! I was in heaven. Dr. Patel went over, step by step, what she was going to do and in the end, discussed her findings and suggestions for my oral health. I also received the whitening trays for my teeth and she answered any questions I had. If you don't have a dentist (and even if you do) I can't recommend more highly Dr. Patel and her practice. While the office has only been there since December, she certainly presents herself and her techniques/manners as years beyond her age. read more

Ive always hated going to the dentist. In fact, when I was a child my mother had to take me to several places because the dentists and hygienists would refuse to see me anymore because i would bite and try my hardest to make it unpleasant for all parties involved. That being said, I enjoyed going here. When I called to make the appointment the woman who helped me on the phone left a little to be desired- she seemed uninformed and impatient. However- when I got there I was so floored by this place. The waiting room is clean and pleasantly decorated. The receptionist was nice although I'm sure I was behaving strangely because I was having a full blown panic attack. First the Doctor saw me in a consultation room. I really apprecaited that because most dentists dont want to know you they just want to poke your teeth. She was generally concerned about how I felt about my teeth and my health history etc. I was very impressed that she seemed to understand that I was terrified of having my teeth hurt while sitting in the chair. The hygienist was very sweet and helpful. I told her my fears and she was very kind to me. She took my Xrays and put some gloves on my hands and overall tried her best to soothe me. Dr. Patel came in and started doing the cleaning- She was very gentle and stopped frequently to check on me. I was very happy that she was so in tune with how I was doing and seemed to take a break when I was looking uncomfortable. She made some recommendations and I told her that I want to do as little as possible from a drilling standpoint. She was understanding to my needs and suggested many alternatives to help maintain the health of my teeth. Often times at dentist's offices I feel like I'm getting the hard sell. I didn't feel that way this time, I felt like I was given many different alternatives to the painful and costly traditional treatments. I'm currently trying to re-harden my teeth or something. Im not sure what I'm doing with my teeth but I have faith that whatever she told me should help. Needless to say, Ill be back. read more

They communicate via phone, text or email (your preference) and are fast to correspond. Dr. Patel is not only a great dentist in practice, but she makes you feel truly cared about. She goes the extra mile to make sure that you are 100% happy with any service or treatment. Her office is also chock full of new, state-of-the-art, technologically advanced equipment and tools. The entire office is immaculately clean and thoughtfully and tranquilly decorated. The office itself is a relaxing haven in downtown Stamford. You're greeted in the lobby with a friendly staffer at the front desk. You can sit down and relax in their very cutely decorated lobby and have some bottled water, tea or coffee. A soothing spa aroma fills the air. There is a relaxing wall fountain and a flat screen that displays live video of tropical beaches and rolling waves. When you're taken back to the treatment rooms, the dental chairs have heat and massage options. The room may have another flat-screen displaying soothing imagery while tranquil music plays throughout the office. You may be offered an optional and complementary hand moisturizing treatment while your teeth are cleaned. When the cleaning is over, you are offered a warm towel on a plate. It's the perfect way to end a stint in a dentist chair! After your appointment, you're given a nice dental goodie bag and big farewell with a warm smile! My husband and I have lived in Stamford for 3.5 years and have both been seeing Dr. Patel for that same amount of time. And we've enjoyed introducing many of our friends and co-workers to the Dental Spa!! The place came highly recommended by my friends that use their services. I was interested in their Clear Correction treatment and made an appointment for a consultation. When I got there I waited for 40 min before I was called in while every other patient would go in within 5 minutes of arrival. The doctor was very nice. She told me about the treatment took some photos and I was told to expect a phone call in two days with details and a cost estimate. Then two weeks past by and I didn't hear from them I called the office and the receptionist told me she has to ask the doctor and call me back. Another week past by and I haven't heard back from them. On Monday I called again, spoke to the office manager who said she will talk to the doctor in between her breaks and call me back. Today is Friday and I still haven't heard from Stamford Dental Spa...very disappointed! read more

I could tell from the moment I walked into the office that it was a special place.
