Dave Harder and his assistant installed a range hood vented to the outside for us. There was more work involved than we anticipated, but they did what was necessary to get the job done in a short period of time and we are very happy with his work. Spring, 2014 our evaporative cooler needed to be replaced and we called Dave again. He told us if we had any problems with the new cooler and thermostat he installed that he personally guarantees his work for one year, so that was good to hear. The cooler operated great all through the summer of 2014. We called Dave in May, 2015 as we needed to have the cooler started up for the summer of 2015. Dave cleaned and oiled the cooler. He also installed four best quality pads. Dave and his employees are cheerful and positive people and are always on time for their appointments with us. Prompt, professional, honest, and reasonably priced: Dave Harder is probably the best HVAC and electrical guy this side of the Pecos. Last week he completed a repair of one of my swamp cooling units professionally and quickly, going to Lowe's twice for additional parts as needed, leaving no cut corners and loose ends. This is no small feat in this town, as I've witnessed everything from mechanics 'tasting' my car's engine fluid to determine quality (vintage?) to being called back eight (8!) months later by a Stucco Company to schedule a repair. Dave arrived on time (actually, early), answered all my questions, and dedicated a lot of time to this repair. With my own technical understanding vacillating between "Faulknerian manchild" and "Second-rate Schmuck", he showed me how to install a new Thermostat. Learning! I am only giving Harder Electrical one star because there is no way to give them zero. David, the owner is rude as I had never seen before. From the get go he was overpowering, he nocked the door as if he was having a heart attack. Parked blocking other cars, and overall, he had no respect for me, or for my home. He walked in my house without an appointment and began to talk to me while I was doing business with another person. Because of his attitude, I asked him to let me think about the proposal he was giving me, he said he was not going to do any work for me, and asked me if he was too white for me. Really David? racism at his worst. You have choices, stay away from Harder Electrical. He left my house leaving me with a disturbing feeling and a bad flavor in my mouth. read more

Not sure what happened with the one negative post but my experience with Harder was nothing but positive. I returned from a trip to find my heat had failed and my home was dangerously close to freezing on the inside. Dave answered his phone after hours and acknowledged the urgency of my situation. He came out the next morning and quickly had me fixed up again. Dave Harder was courteous, professional, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable about what he was doing. Harder's service was excellent. The two electricians showed up on time, gave me an accurate estimate, and explained exactly what needed to be done (I needed a new swamp cooler wired into my existing electrical system.) They had all needed parts on hand, and completed the wiring within the estimated time and cost. I only have one word to describe Dave - Awesome!! We needed a new A/C unit and called Dave. Discovered our heater and A/C was to small for the size of our home.
