Can't stand how awesome Jonathan and Robert are! VERY AFFORDABLE. VERY PROFESSIONAL! I called up on Saturday night, and they were at my door the next day to unload my belongings into my house. They were courteous and concerned about my stuff getting wet (it rained, which was not their fault) and very careful not to touch the handrails with my brand new bed. They put everything exactly where I wanted it, and were intuitive enough to anticipate the contents of each box and put it in the appropriate place. My scheduled moving services I had originally booked with a different company canceled on me the morning of my move! Jonathan was able to accommodate my my move with in hours on the same day! My situation was a bit more complicated when adding in the fact that I could not be present for the move. We were donating the furniture to a non profit and his seamless payment system made it easy for me to finalize payment while not being present and not bothering the nonprofit with the expenses. First of all - I couldn't believe how friendly these guys were... really friendly, that put my mind at ease that actually they were going to do a great job. I based my choice on yelp reviews. The top 3 I chose between, one was about the same price as harders but only brought 2 guys. The other was $90/hour but they also only brought two guys so figured at $130/hr having THREE was a better deal, faster move and more people in motion at all times, plus the $90/hr guys couldn't do an afternoon move. I paid the deposit of $50 which came off the total, which was $393 for a three hour move (I did our last move 3.5 years ago myself, paying the money saved me a lot of backache and stairs). They showed up on time, never dawdled, took a break between point A and B that they deducted from the time, took beds apart for us, took everything we asked, and even just took care of the bill automatically from the original deposit account. I really couldn't have asked for more and wish I had more things boxed (they would have taken them too but I told them not to worry about anything unboxed). Trying not to sound like a canned review so feel free to look at all my other reviews..when I don't like something I'm not afraid to say so, but I can't say enough about how well they did for us. I recently needed moving help IN A HURRY. I did some looking on Craigslist and found an advertisement for inexpensive moving help with big household items. I called the number listed and Jonathan Harder answered. I told him what I needed and he said he could help THAT EVENING!!...Wahoo!! My brother and sister and I had a dilemma....what was the best way to get some furniture and boxes of stuff moved from our mom's estate in Temple, TX, to Prescott Valley, AZ, AND Bakersfield, CA? My brother got some estimates from a couple of the big companies, but I didn't want to use them (previous fiasco), so I turned to Yelp instead. Found 5 movers with great reviews, and Jonathan was the first to get back to me with an estimate. And it was a good estimate, no more than the big guys would have charged. When the day came for the move there was a snafu, because a large couch that was not on the original estimate needed to go. Jonathan had to unload everything and go get a different truck! He could have been really upset but he took it fine. I'm not sure I would have in his place! Anyway, he picked it all up on a Monday, and made the first dropoff in AZ the following Thursday morning. My folks there talked about how careful and polite he and his crew were. He made it to CA that same evening, and my sister said the same thing! He only charged $400 extra for the couch thing. Mucho kudo's, because the items that he moved were full of a lifetime of memories for my sibs and I...to us it wasn't your average 'stuff' to be moved, and he GOT that without us ever having to say a thing about it. Awesome moving company!!!!! I choose Harder's Movers not for the price but for the reviews. They weren't the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. I was quoted 280.00 for two hours worth of work, while places like Army Ant, Two men and a truck, Apache, Einstein, and Longoria moving quoted me 350.00-400.00. Jonathan communicated through the whole process and showed up right on time and finished the move right on time. We have moved more times than I can count, and the experience has ranged from simply OK to downright nightmarish. Hiring Jonathan for our latest move was the best choice I could have made, because, for the first time, the experience was stress-free and super-smooth. Jonathon Harder of Harder's Movers is the most professional, hardworking and on top of that, one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. I called Harder's 2-3 days before I had to be out of my apartment..October 1'st...busiest day for moving companies and 1'st off he returned my call promptly even though it was late (after 5:00 pm) and on a Sunday. I had also called other movers that were ranked highly with Yelp but didn't receive phone calls back or even 1 didn't even return his messages, he stated that on his message machine and referred you to his complicated website where you were supposed to list the things to be moved and then he would email you an "estimate". Not Jonathon...he made an appointment to come to my apartment and do a walk through so he could tell me just what to expect and I not only needed movers but to be packed as well all by the 1'st of October. Jonathon called me the morning of the move to let me know they were headed my way and when he showed up he had brought 2 great moving guys with him in addition to a woman who worked her butt off doing all my packing...they started early that morning and had me all packed up and moved into my new apartment around 2:00 pm that day...they also unpacked my kitchen for me, hung pictures, unpacked all my nick-knacks and still asked if there was anything more they could do for me. When I say that Jonathon Harder is the most compassionate man I must mention that my brother (whom I worked for) had gotten ill in early August 2014 and passed away 6 weeks later on the 15'th of September suddenly and it left me without a paycheck for August and September so to put it lightly I was completely broke but Jonathon had told me the day he did the walk through that he would work with me as far as costs..Well they finished up with everything that afternoon and I asked Jonathon how much I owed him and he asked what could I afford, so I told him what I had left (and I mean all that I had left to my name) and I won't quote what little he charged me for such a big job because he wouldn't be able to stay in business if he charged as little as he charged me but he said to me "I don't want to take the last of your money and then suggested a much smaller amount that was mind-blowing considering all the work they had done for me and I know he didn't make a cent off of this job but the entire time Jonathon and his other 3 workers that he had brought with him were courteous, professional, hardworking and didn't damage or break anything and all I had to move myself was my cat in his carrier and they took care of anything and everything else..there's not enough good things to say about Harder's Movers but they are a fantastic company and lived up to all their great reviews and Jonathon was an angel from out of nowhere when I needed one. Harder's has my business for life and I will never use another company again and neither should anyone else reading these reviews. We had the BEST experience with Jonathan and Harder's Movers!! Harder's came to our rescue during our tricky move. My husband and I were closing on our new home but our closing dates kept changing. Jonathan was super flexible and accommodating and was even able to temporarily store our stuff while we were waiting on our close date to firm up. Jonathan came to our place the day before our move and was very professional. We booked the 11a-1p move slot and they called at 10a and said they were on their way, an hour early, YES! His crew was super professional and they all hustled while taking great care of our belongings. Our close date ending up being right before the start of a holiday weekend and Jonathan offered to deliver our stuff that night, he even said he could deliver on the holiday, if we preferred. We were so impressed with his willingness to be flexible and accommodate our schedules. His communication throughout everything was also so wonderful! Jonathan and Will of Harder's Movers were awesome! Where do I start? I was moving from Austin, TX to Houston, TX. When I initially asked for a quote via Yelp, Jonathan replied in a timely manner WITHOUT all the red tape (go to this website and re-enter all your info and I'll send you a quote...ugh) He did ask a few questions about size of bookcases to ensure his truck would be tall enough but it was QUICK AN EASY. They confirmed the night before with a phone call, not an email (with all the packing and moving and last minute to-do's, who has time to check emails:-) They showed up exactly when they stated and they were quick even with 2 flights of stairs at both locations:-) They made sure all my mirrors, and any other fragile items that could be easily broken were packed and secured for haul. They also took apart a chef table and reassembled it once it was moved to new location. Once we arrived in Houston, they were just as efficient and professional. Jonathan and co. have helped my wife and I move around Austin three times now. They rock, The price is right and sooo worth it! The last move had a laughably difficult situation of getting a big long dresser up a tall narrow stair case and then around a tight corner. It was impressive to watch them manage it with ease while I didn't even think it was possible. One other thing; I just installed new laminate floors in the new house, and I told him it was ok to slide the couch around on it, but he simply insisted that everyone lift the furniture as they moved it and not risk scratching the floor - very conscientious. read more

I recently did a long distance/cross country move from Austin to California, and Jonathan and his team were one of the only local companies willing to do a small move across state lines. This is an update to my review. We recently used Harder's movers for the second time and it was still an amazing experience. Jonathan and his teamed BUSTED their tails for us. We moved out of a 3rd floor 2 bedroom apartment into a 1 bedroom loft and they did it all in 3 hours. Even when a ceiling fan light bulb got busted, he took it off our total bill, no questions asked, "I will make it right," is what he told me and he certainly did.
