I love this place. After Alamo Drafthouse sold out to Sony, their ticket and food prices skyrocketed and it was time to look elsewhere. Harkins gives me the same intimate, independent feeling vs the big-box spectacle of AMC. The theatres are a nice mid-size with spectacular audio and top-tier seating. Genuinely, their recliners are the comfiest and roomiest out there. And when people pass in front of your seat, you don't have to shrink like you're in an airplane. The rows are wide! Qualities from a bygone era. Their prices are gloriously fair, and the food is pretty good - we've become fans of the crispy chicken sandwich, tenders and margherita pizza. The order-ahead app experience has always been reliable for me. And their staff seals the deal; they've always been friendly, attentive and helpful. read more

Don't order food in advance via their mobile ordering system. We did because we were running late for our movie and it actually made us later. The food was not ready. They asked us what drinks we wanted when we got there because the mobile ordering system apparently tells them the sizes but not the actual drinks we ordered?!? It would have taken less time if we just ordered when we got there. The food and drink was just basic movie theater fare. Nothing fancy. The movie theater was good. The seats recline to almost flat. This is the place to suggest if you are being dragged to a movie you don't want to see. You can totally take a nap! Lol. Someone was having a medical emergency in the exit hallway when we tried to leave after the movie and, at first, we thought we were trapped. But the exit doors by the screen go to the parking lot and don't set off an alarm. All in all decent movie theater. But I prefer Alamo. read more

Before I started to write this review I read reviews from when Harkins opened in 2018. People raved about the much needed upgrades, the squeaky clean theaters, and the sheer excitement of something new. Maintaining those standards from eight years ago seems like a near impossible task. But to say things are the same would be a lie. When I do go to the movies, which isn't often anymore, I come here with its close proximity to where I live. Is it bad? Far from it. Is it great? Far from it. It's as middle of the road as it gets. I feel like you can come here and not interact with a single person. And when you do interact with them, it's like talking to a brick wall. Blank stares, general nods, minimal words being spoken, it's very robotic and dystopian. There is zero enthusiasm and for god's sake it's just weird!!! Pros for me include being able to order an alcoholic beverage and take it into the theater. Just like I'm watching at home. We came here over the holidays to see the second Wicked movie. To their credit, the theater experience is relatively sound. Big rows, nice seats where you can put your feet up, cupholders all around, etc. Even though they put up promotional posters and cutouts of big names and blockbuster movies, it seems like this place is slowly becoming extinct. Is it theaters in general? When I go to Alamo it's more exciting than this! Harkins, this is a call. A call to spruce the place up and make going to the movies exciting again. I visited this Harkins Theater during peak hours and I was nervous. I normally hate movie theaters because I always encounter people being loud, using their phones, ruining the experience. I was actually quite surprised that there were only a few people using their phones for short periods of time here. The seats were comfortable and seemed clean and the woman that helped us out at the snack place was nice and efficient. I do wish that more movie theaters would take on the Alamo business model by monitoring people talking and using their phones during the movies and issue a warning first then kick them out. It would make coming to the movie theaters a once every two months or once a quarter event as opposed to once every few years. read more

I live in Lakewood near Belmar, there is a theatre there, but it isn't a very good theatre experience. The staff is not friendly, and it isn't very clean, bathrooms are horrible. Chose Harkins in Arvada because Epic was showing there. I was so impressed when I walked in very clean lobby area, the guy that sold me my ticket was very friendly. The lady at the concessions was sooo nice, made my popcorn exactly like I asked for lots of butter layered up. The bathroom was so clean. The seats were nice, not torn or worn out looking. I will definitely make this my go to theatre from now on. I highly recommend this theatre. read more

This is the elite theater in the area. The building is fairly new, it has nice leather reclining seats, there is a bar in the lobby, the bathrooms are super clean, and there is an abundance of staff. I will go here to see any and all movies moving forward. read more

A great cinema experience within walking distance distance of Downtown Arvada and public transit. Catch a movie then walk to the shops! This movie theatre was very clean and includes recliner seats. It's a HUGE building with small bar in the lobby. This allows for big blockbusters to be featured as well as many smaller, limited-release movies. I was able to see "The Return" starring Ralph Fiennes, which was only released in select theaters. I was delighted to find Harkins as I was scrambling to find where this movie was showing. My favorite thing about the experience was you could pre-order your food and drinks for pick-up when you purchase a movie ticket online. I picked up my popcorn, candy, and coke quick as a flash. Don't forget to add butter to your popcorn before finding your seat! read more

It was my first time attending this theater. It is nice when I walked in. Very easy to get scanned in to see my movie. The theater looked very nice and clean. I got some nachos with jalapeños. I went into theater 2 and got to my see my movie just in time. The theater was nice with the reclining seats. I would only suggest that they clean more thoroughly between and under seats. I dropped my napkins between the seats and reached to get my napkins and I grabbed other trash that was left there. Then I turned on my flashlight on my phone to look for my napkins and saw that there was a lot of trash under the seats. Overall, I had a comfortable and nice time watching the movie. read more

Dear Harkins Theater, This theater is truly my favorite. I absolutely love it. I would be interested in hosting my birthday there, especially since I know they allow you to bring a PlayStation or Xbox. I would like to gather more information about how birthday parties are organized at this location. I have fond memories associated with this theater, including a second date with my girlfriend, where we watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which was a delightful experience. Additionally, the theater is conveniently located near a charming little town. I also make it a habit to keep my movie tickets as a reminder of how special this place is to me. My all-time craziest memory I have here was I went here and saw the new Batman with Robert Pattison and as I was driving home, I realized I didn't have my wallet on me. So I was like crap. Also, my wallet is there cause I don't know if I trust it so I drove all the way back and The doors were locked and there was no way to get back in and I saw one guy leaving so I was like oh sweet here's a chance so as he was walking out, I was able to open the door come in through. First time back since COVID and I'm this case, my former review still stands. I appreciate the touch-less check in process, the full bar options and comfy seats. We typically don't partake of the movie snacks but the cocktails, beer or wine? Priorities. We saw The Batman. We also took advantage of matinee pricing and had a 5 pm showing. Harkins Theatre in Arvada is a solid theatre for any movie goer! Came here for a matinee on a Saturday and loved it. Tickets are cheaper during the day at $9 per person or $12 per person if you're attending a night show. The staff are nice and although there isn't food service at your seat you can buy drinks and snacks before you head in. As most theatres go nowadays, the seating capacity for each show room is a lot less in order to fit comfy recliners. In my opinion, you don't need recliners to watch a movie at a theatre, but I guess it's all about making the customer happy and comfortable. Anyways, they are nice and the buttons are easy to find unlike some other places that have them wedged in-between the seat. Everything started on time and the projection was awesome. The sound was crisp, clear and not too loud. Ultimately, I would be glad to watch a movie at this theatre again! read more

Such a vibe! Idk why but this theater just felt nostalgic! Seats and everything are up to date, but still have a vibe of that old theater feel. Def worth it to see a movie here. I honestly have not been to a movie theater in many years. I just felt like the theater was always dirty, crowded, and uncomfortable....well, Harkins Theater has changed my mind about that! I recently came here because my daughter wanted to see a movie that had just come out. The parking lot is huge and in the same vicinity as Texas Roadhouse and Cold Stone Creamery which makes it easy to have dinner, a movie, and dessert all close by! The ticket attendants were helpful and friendly. My daughter got a $2.00 discount just for being a student. The prices were lower than I had anticipated, too. We decided to get popcorn, candy, and drinks at the concession stand. The attendant was nice, but she messed up our order a few times. Maybe she was just new? Anyway, the theater was clean, and everything was easy to find. Inside the theater, the rows and the seats are clearly labeled so it is really easy to find your seat. Upon buying your ticket, either online or at the theater, you get to choose your seat. I love the chance to choose your seats so if you have a few people in your group you are ensured the chance to all sit together. The best part though is the seats! The rows are huge, so if someone arrives late, you do not have to stand up in order for them to scoot by. The seats themselves are plush leather with a large cup holder AND they recline. The rows are spaced perfectly so you never have to worry about a tall person in front of you blocking your view. They also offer a rewards program so you can build up points with each visit. This whole experience has changed my mind about movie theaters and I cannot wait to come back! read more

First of all, Amanda is the best bartender and she is our favorite part about coming to this theater. With that being said, the Hispanic assistant manager ruined this place for us and we will not be returning. We have been coming to this theatre for years and almost always buy exclusively their food and drinks (at insane markups). On our last trip we decided to bring some of our own drinks/snacks, this assistant manager decided to immediately kick us out with no warning. I am aware of the rules so I get it, but we were not being disruptive and I can only imagine a majority of their patrons bring some sort of outside food/drink. I would recommend management talking to their employees about using discretion and possibly even considering some leniency once and awhile. read more

This is great movie theatre in terms of comfort with reclining seats and efforts by staff to ensure a positive experience. There is large variety of foods to enjoy including burgers and adult beverages. Hats off to the hard working staff that ensure a positive outing. I have noticed that some of the staff have been there for some time. That says a lot about management when staff chose to work for you. Great parking and just off Wadsworth. Terrible experience. Went to go see John Wick 4. A highly intoxicated couple fought through the entire movie as well as were being super loud. They would scream and cuss and go in and out of the theatre. Multiple complaints were made as it was uncomfortable for everyone in the theatre. People also asked the couple to stop. Staff came in for maybe 5 minutes tops and asked them to stop once and then left us all to suffer the rest of the movie as the couple continued once they left. It was a horrible experience and could have been handled a lot better. They should have refunded the entire theatre or at the least asked the couple to leave. I wasted money on a movie I didn't really get to watch because the theatre didn't do their job making it a comfortable environment for everyone. I also called to complain as last night when the movie was out I was told that no one was available. The manager Calvin apologized and said that he would talk to his staff about training but apparently the situation was not worth a refund. I will never be coming back or be recommending to come and see movies here. read more

I came here to see a screening of Venom, and being my first time here I was fairly impressed. Impressed not only by the layout (it is a fairly nice theater), but also because of the ticket prices. I ordered my ticket online, so with taxes it ran me about $13.50, compared to close to $18 to the AMC theater nearest me). I had to reserve my seat beforehand like you do most places now. Once in the theater the seat was comfortable, able to recline, and there is plenty of room for moving incase you need to exit. I didn't order anything to eat or drink so I can't comment on the prices. Next time I go I may get something and update the review. The only problem came before the previews started, where the screen flickered off (I guess they had some sort of technical difficulties), but they fixed it no time and there were no problems throughout any of the previews or the movie - so no complaints. All in all I'm pretty happy with the overall experience at this movie theater and I'll be coming back. read more

We went to a PG rated film and were shown R rated and highly inappropriate previews. If you are planning to take your kids to the movies, go somewhere else. Adding this edit one day later - amazingly, the theater manager actually called me to discuss this. Harkins is going to review the trailer packages for PG movies and so on and try to make adjustments to exclude R trailers in PG movies. At least there was a good response to this. Though I truly mourned the closing of the Landmark Theater, this newly opened and renovated Harkins is lovely. The lobby is spacious, there's booze and the extra wide aisles make for an extremely comfortable experience. I've seen a handful of movies here so far and each visit has been perfectly pleasant. No theater can replace the true joy of seeing the little old lady who worked for Landmark introduce Star Wars with a light-saber, but there's not much else to complain about at this nice new movie theater. read more
