I would give less if I could...I bought two black berry cheese danish and a kounimann and paid for it at coffee bar. The young man rung it up so fast for some reason it didn't record that specific transaction. I took bag and bought a few more items at regular check stand and they looked at me and the white bag I told them what it was and showed my reciept for the pastries. Well make long story short at check stand they didn't put my pastry bag in paper bag. I didn't realize that it was missing since my husband help put away. Fast forward almost two hours later I realized this so called. I was told if I didn't come back this evening that person tomorrow wouldn't honor it. Lesson learned I will NEVER purchase Anything from their coffee bar again. Two blackberry cream chase danish and a kouni Mann came to almost $10 bucks. Never again. I have just been reading reviews. Shopping was great but we wanted to buy balloons at the balloon counter/customer service, and got ignored for five minutes while employees worked at said counter. Then another couple came to the counter and waited for another five minutes. And the employee who came to the counter and saw my husband and I waiting there first, helped the other couple that came second. Not great. We left. read more

I was charged $17.97 for 3 soup bread bowls from the bakery. I was shocked when the employee put the pricing sticker that he printed out on the bag. I thought he knows what he is doing but I surely won't be buying these again. When I got home I checked the price online and they are currently 2/$4. Harmon's itself is fine. Nice grocery store with prices that are not exactly cheap. This review is specifically for the pharmacy at this location. The head pharmacist / manager is basically rude and condescending (I could use the word for a giant rear end). I will be transferring my prescriptions and using a more customer oriented pharmacy. The salad bar at Harmons is my favorite spot to have a healthy lunch. The have many fresh veggies and fruits. Also, the selection of toppings and dressings are ample. I love having this Harmons right by my house! It really is one of the better locations. I love how fresh their bakery items are. It doesn't matter what time of day I go in, they seem to always have a good stock of bakery items and the employees are right there to answer any questions you may have. My favorite is their maple buttercream bars, they're amazing, and only $1! One of the best donuts I've had. I've also tried their Creme Brulee which is delicious, as well as their pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They have so many delicious bakery items, you really can't go wrong. read more

This review is for chef Daniela Oliveira cooking class. Went 5x and have 1 more to attend. We had one class with Instant Pot and cooked beef short ribs, chicken, pork ribs, basmati rice, and a soup stock base. The 2nd class was desserts, and it got a little crowded as there were some last minute people that signed up. Daniela was so fun and energetic, she explained things in a simple fashion. The 2 monitors with HD cameras gave us all a perfect view of her preparation and then we had to duplicate it. They have multiple cooking stations with stoves and ovens to allow everyone to do their own thing. There was so much food left over that I had food for days and met some awesome people to boot. Tomorrow is Indian class, and Saturday is a bread making class. read more

I have loved the people who work here and have never had a problem until tonight. I went to get my 4 month old baby formula and went to check out and i only had so much money on my debit card that it asked for a balance left to owe so i said i would be back tomorrow morning can you please void this and give me a receipt and she said she can void it but she won't give me a receipt. I asked for a manager and she said word for word "you're looking at her" I find this really rude especially as a manager position to talk to customers this way. Just moved to Utah so I'm still learning the ways of great shopping experiences and gaining favorite spots. My grocery shopping experience was well worth the 5 stars and I would give them more if I could. Upon arriving to the store the parking lot was clear of shopping carts and had ample parking spots. When you enter the store it smells good. As you enter the floral department is to your left. All I can say is this was on a Friday night. Shelves stocked, so many employees offering and making sure we were finding everything we needed without being intrusive. The departments are beautifully decorated to showcase their individual specialties. The produce department, bakery, deli, coffee cafe, meat and seafood departments were so impressive. Along with our groceries we also bought fried chicken and some sushi so we could try it. Coming from South Florida I was hoping it would be as good as Publix. It was better. Now if only they could make sub sandwiches like publix...Hint hint Harmon's if you can master that you guys would be golden. Pricing wise you will find prices to be slightly higher than say a Walmart superstore or Smiths but to be honest my experience was so good that I will budget to be able to shop here. read more

It's hard to beat the quality of Harmon's. And it's consistently excellent, whether it be in the heart of downtown SLC at City Creek, in the Mojave desert at the St. George UT location, here in Riverton at the Mountain View Village shopping center ... or probably any of their locations. Things that stand out for this location? On my Saturday afternoon jaunt, it's crowded yet the shelves are, with few exceptions, fully and neatly stocked. The bathrooms are REALLY clean (and they have these hooks so you don't have to drag your coats (and other things) into the latrine!). Cost has always been an issue .... high prices come with that high quality. As with the other Harmon's: Their deli and cheeses are top-shelf quality; the staff is friendly; the volume of their trail mix and candies are only rivaled by WinCo, and their produce is c'est magnifique. There's also a nice little bistro where you can eat, drink, sip on a coffee, or just take a load off. Rivertonites: I can't think of a better way to Harmon-ize your grocery needs than at Mountain View Village Harmon's! read more

Came to a cooking class on Saturday. Very professional setup. They had a dietician on-site and explained everything that was prepared. Brazilian food was the theme today. This was just a demo so I got to kick back and relax. So much fun and educational. Can't wait for the next one. If you get a chance try and attend one of their cooking sessions or demos. So worth it. You learn a lot about food and the process of preparing. All made with stuff right in the store. All the food was excellent! read more

So disappointed in the "Pumpkin" pie it was marked as a local product, and was the only option-- no other brand, frozen or fresh, not one of the options of single slice options and was definitely pricier than other pies in the area, but I thought buying from Harmon's was a safe option since Peterson's pie was past the "buy date" by 5 days! It liked mice but yuck The package was marked "pumpkin" but the filling had no flavor NO spices, nothing close to resembling pumpkin pie spice. Just had a really bad experience at the deli counter. Employee was washing dirty dishes and proceeded to cut lunch meat with the same gloves. This is a violation of health code. I reported it and they apologized but didn't seem overly concerned. Disgusting! This is not the first issue of cleanliness I've had at the deli counter. I am always perplexed when my opinion of a certain establishment is so much higher, or sometimes lower than other reviewers but when it comes to Harmon's ANYTHING other than a solid five star review just does not make sense to me. How can I describe this Harmon's Grocery Store to get my opinion across?? Well, it's perfect, the store is amazingly perfect and if I am being completely honest it may be better than perfect. If you are hungry and don't feel like cooking you can come in and enjoy the fresh salad bar with everything you could ever want on a salad. Or, you could choose from one of the eight thick, rich, decadent soups that they offer daily. Or, you could go for the hot food and get fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders, and a dozen other menu items that escape me at the moment. Or, you could enjoy some amazing sushi prepared daily by their in house sushi chef. Or, you could have dessert, a hot coffee, or other beverages. This is of course a grocery store so if you just came in to go shopping I dare you to tell me something that they do not offer in this store!!! Bakery, only the best breads and desserts you can find anywhere!! Meat Department, the best beef, pork, poultry, and fish / seafood on the planet. They have dry aged beef that is to die for. Deli Meats and Cheeses that will not disappoint. Cooking classes, check. I could go on, and on, and .... you get the point, this store is perfect, I absolutely love it here. When family visits from out of town and I want to show them all of the amazing things in Salt Lake City I take them to Temple Square, The SLC Zoo, This is the Place Monument, The Great Salt Lake, and Harmon's!!!!!! OK, maybe Harmon's is not perfect, they close at midnight so I have to wait until the next morning before I can go back again!! This place reminds me of natural foods stores mixed with Smiths grocery. They have bulk items and more. Here are some pros and cons: * The service and staff are wonderfully friendly. The food quality is excellent. The carts for families are great. The entrance is cute and always styled. The quality of produce is amazing. Their options and varieties for products are so good! The weekly specials are so worth it! They have perks for loyal customers. * Negatives would probably be pricing for most folks are higher than average local stores, BUT they do have weekly specials. This was my first time ever shopping at a Harmons and it was such a fun experience! They had every produce and ingredient I needed, along with a few other items I didn't initially think I needed lol. The store is huge and super nice, clean, and organized! I did feel a little overwhelmed at first just because there was so much stuff! Horrible customer service at the meat counter, I stood my 6' from the man in front of me. As he walked away another man walked up and the guy at the meat counter asked to help him... okay, irritating but whatever, that man was just looking and not ready, so the meat counter guy looked at me and then turned around... So I left and went up to smiths, where I got great service! When I called to report this to a manager all she could say " well he probably just didn't see you " I have been a loyal shopper for 20 years and gotta say this has made it so I will give my business go smiths! read more

The Harmon's Deli gave my wife FOOD POISONING. Back in February, my wife was working in the center where this Harmon's is located. Typically she'll bring a lunch, however, this particular day she was at a training and didn't have time to prepare a lunch. So, she went to the Harmon's Deli. She got some chicken strips and some mac and cheese. Later than evening after returning home she had to run to the bathroom. She had become violently ill. She was vomiting, and had diarrhea. She was unable to keep anything down. She continued with the symptoms through the evening, she was unable to sleep. She missed work the following day. By the following evening she was still exhibiting symptoms of the food poisoning, so I took her to the ER. While at the ER she was given IV fluids and given a blood screening. The Hospital said it was food poisoning. Now we're out over $4000 in medical bills and lost wages. We filed a claim with Harmon's however they denied it. They said that we didn't get a stool sample. There were no stool to give. They said it was 'alleged' food poisoning. So, I wouldn't eat there or purchase anything from there. They're overpriced, their food makes you sick, and they won't take responsibility for their poor food handling. We've never gotten sick from Smith's or Walmart's deli, and their prices are more reasonable. read more

I used to love this Harmons and it was my main go to place for everything. The past several visits I've had issues where they have either sold me bad meat or produce. I just had to throw out a whole pound of bacon because it smelled sour, so disappointing and such a waste of money! On the plus side their bakery always does a great job, but they need someone to pay closer attention to the produce and meat departments. read more

We had guests so we called them to make sure their Ice cream counter is open. We were told they are open till 10. When we went there at 9:30 they had closed. We drive half an hour. Harmon's is a great market to do your daily shopping at. I don't have a problem with the actual store, this one star is for the bakery and the bakery manager. Recently my wife ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry filling and chocolate ganache online. She has purchased pre-made cakes with cherry filling and it included fresh cherries. So she decided to order a strawberry cake online without having to think that she needed to request fresh strawberries since the only option on the website said strawberry. She picked up the cake when it was ready we served it during a birthday party and after slicing it found out that it was a vanilla cake with a super thin layer of strawberry jam that didn't have any actual strawberries inside. On top of that the filling tasted noting like strawberry it just tasted sweet minus the strawberry taste. A day later my wife called Harmon's to speak with the bakery to see if there was a mistake, and the bakery manager told her that unless specified in the note section online cakes that have a fruit filling do not come with fresh fruits. Unfortunately it does not say that anywhere online when filling out the order and when she told the bakery manager that she proceeded to laugh at her on the phone repeating that it should have been put in the note section. Once again there is no direction on the webpage for when ordering a cake that said that if you want fresh fruits you need to make note of it. When she told me she was as laughed at by the bakery manager I called right back to speak with the general manager regarding the cake and the very unprofessional behavior of the bakery manager. She listened to my concerns and offered to let us return the cake something the bakery manager did not even offer. Over all I feel like the quality of the premade cakes compared to ordering one online is night and day and makes me wonder if the bakery is lazy and and half ass online orders or outsource to another company since it was completely different from what is in the store. Either way we will probably not be ordering a cake or buying one from their bakery anytime soon or ever again. Working in the service industry in high school and college I feel that the bakery manager should be reprimanded, retrained or even possibly terminated because her behavior and action can have a lasting affect that negatively impact Harmon's reputation. read more

I have bought cooked chicken at Harmons before and it was delicious but when I purchased a fried chick thigh from the Harmon's at Mountain View, it was not edible. It was old, dark, and dry. Can't believe that the store would try to sell that kind of chicken. Just beware when you purchase. read more
