I love Village Baker! I haven't ever been to a location that wasn't great. This is no exception. I popped in for a quick bowl of soup because I love their broccoli cheese soup so much! I ended up leaving with two loaves of bread as well. There is no better place to get bread in my opinion. The cute employee at the register was very nice and polite. I got my food very quickly. They usually leave with lots of desserts because they are all good here. But I didn't get any this time. read more

Village Baker is a favorite of mine, and this location always does a great job. It is very cute when you walk in, and they do have seating if you want to dine in. It's counter service. I normally do take out. We really like the chicken cordon bleu pizza. I love getting a pizza without red sauce. Their red sauce is good tho. I've had the pepperoni pizza and really enjoy it. Sometimes the pizza has a little more crust than I want, but I love their crust so it's okay. I've never tried them, but I've heard really good things about both their sandwiches and salads. They also have a delicious selection of pastries. I will say it is a little bit pricier especially for the pizza, but the food is good enough to splurge on! read more

Is there a problem with this sandwich? Yes: there's no meat. I was told 2oz is the standard, which is fine, but when I asked to purchase extra, I was told no--even though "Extra Meat" is literally on the menu. The manager got defensive immediately, which caught me off guard. I eventually had to suggest buying a cookie just to get the meat I wanted. She finally agreed, but the eye roll and sarcastic "You're welcome" made it clear we weren't actually welcome at all. We won't be back; we'll be going to Kneaders instead. read more

I ordered a sandwich today and there was the tiniest bit of turkey on it so I asked if they weigh their meat and the manager came out and said yes we weigh our meat. We always have. It's been that way since we opened well that's funny because I've been going since 1994 when they first opened the first location in the sandwiches definitely have gone downhill. There is a picture on their yelp of a sandwich from five years ago and this turkey on it is three times as much as what I got today. Village Baker's honey rye bread is the bread of my dreams. I've never been able to find another version that matches the VB quality. It used to be called, "squaw bread" but now I just call it, "the Lord's bread." The customer service at this location wasn't terrible. And the tables and chairs were very clean. But I swear Village Baker sandwiches used to be more hearty. I would always order half a sandwich because they were packed with so much meat, cheese, and toppings that a half could satisfy my large appetite. Maybe I'm remembering wrong. I was in the area when hunger hit and I'd never been to a Village Baker. I didn't know what to expect. It feels like a sandwich shop / bakery, but it's called a pizza restaurant in Apple Maps. I went the sandwich route with the turkey cranberry on a soft honey rye brown bread. I ordered a half sandwich and some chips with water bottle, so I was surprised when the total was $14 or more. When my order came out I realized she rang me up for the whole thing. This is my only complaint, but really it was tasty and I ate leftovers the next day. The turkey cranberry is delicious if you're a Thanksgiving leftover person like me. The turkey is less meaty and more soft, so it's a softer consistency sandwich overall. It felt cozy and peaceful as I ate. There is plenty of seating and to-go boxes ready to grab if you need to take anything home. I'd gladly eat at a Village Baker again. read more

They were awesome when I first went over 20 years ago. After breifly retruning to utah while being gone for 10 years still a favorite I have to admit I miss the original store I believe on or around 90th south and the family feel but still overall very good food. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I were hungry and it was around 1pm today, there were 2 people in the pickup order line then 3 of us in the walk in line, they totally ignored us until this young man came up and started taking orders because after the pickup order that lady left the front end. Then we ordered half sandwich half soup I got the turkey avocado but substituted it with pepper jack cheese and cheese broccoli soup my husband ordered BLT with the chicken rice soup. There was so much bread we had to take the bottom half off and eat it like that. It was very plain and dry and I have been to Village Baker plenty of other times and it just seems like they're not trying as hard. The rice soup was in flavorful. Oh also we said TO GO, the guy taking our order even said TOGO right and we said yes, A VERY RUDE lady that was in street clothes (black pants, red shirt and a tan throw over, hair was brown in a ponytail with a black ribbon) brought out our food on plates and then I said our order was TOGO she walks off and I went up as well saying that she forgot our 2 cookies (that was in the back in the freezer) Then she snapped at me saying that this ain't my order, who cares, I just wanted to remind you. Then the guy who took our order brought out our order. I wish I knew his name because he was really nice but the lady on the other hand was very rude and unprofessional and DON'T have any customer service experience! If she was in her regular clothes that makes me wonder if she was part of the management if so, that's really SAD! Management Should set an example they should be wearing a uniform like everyone else. Needless to say I will not be back to this location! Do better and clean the tables when the customers leave. I get lunch here quite often for a group of 12. They always take great care of me! Best service here. I have had the pizzas, salads and sandwiches and you can't go wrong. My favorite pizza is the Italiano, the club or ham and cheddar on white is always a hit and the raspberry chicken salad is amazing. Honestly.. you can't go wrong. Beware ordering take out or delivery. This location blatently ignores any special requests. One more than one occasion, I have ordered lunches without specific ingredients only to find that when the order arrives, they are all there. They know it is a delivery and you have no recourse since the product isn't checked prior to leaving the building. I won't order delivery from them again. read more

Their avocado toast should be called tomato toast since that was the main ingredient. Tomatoes weren't listed on the menu or mentioned when I asked at the time of ordering this item. I got the BBQ Chicken Pizza and it was amazing the crust was perfect and airy and the topping were fresh. Service was wonderful.

Food is excellent and the bread is unreal. Honey wheat is perfect and the sandwiches are light and balanced.

My favorite thing on the Village Baker menu is the simple BLT. The bread completely makes this sandwich! It's over $9 bucks however ($5ish bucks for a half), which I think is overcharged. Instead of ordering the sandwich, I opted to buy a loaf of their EXQUISITE white bread (thick sliced) to make epic BLTs at home, where I can have that sandwich that makes my eyes roll back, for a good fraction of the cost of a made-to-order sandwich. See pic for what that looks like) . The thick sliced loafs give you enough to make 4 amazing sandwiches of whatever you desire., The reason I rated Village Pizza as a 3 is because when I bought the bread, I also ordered a medium Pizza that failed expectations. i chose the pizza Italiano because it had white sauce, When I received the pizza, it looked great..all ingredients were very fresh, however they were mostly concentrated to the center of the pizza, which means that you get half of your bites with mega ingredients, and then half of your bites with just bread. I didn't like that. Nothing is stopping them from distributing toppings on their pies a little more more evenly, yet they don't. The most egregious problems with the pizza is that it was significantly under-cooked. The dough was freaking raw in the center of the pizza, which simply made it impossible for me to get satisfaction from those bites where all the ingredients were centered. I am one to love a good doughy texture, but this was raw. These are sold as eat-on-demand pizzas, not take-and-bakes. I had to take it home and bake it before I could eat any more. The problem with that is that within the reheating process, the flavor of the white sauce disintegrates into the dough so that you can't taste it as distinctly as you can on the first bake. I would love Village Baker to offer me a replacement fully baked pizza, but I don't want to call and raise a stink. According to the pizza I had, I would not recommend Village Baker's Pizza. unless you love raw dough and all your ingredients disproportionately concentrated in the middle (which probably explains why the middle of the pie dough is so raw compared to the uncovered edges. read more

They have the BEST Southwest Chicken Salad! When I first came here, years ago, my co-workers ALL ordered the Southwest Salad. They said that I HAD to try it and to trust them. Honestly, I was hesitant because I don't like spice or BBQ sauce. They assured me that I would love it. Which I DID! I actually became obsessed with this salad! I craved it all the time! Getting a half salad is more than you need because they are huge! I also get it without onions because I'm not a fan of onions. The BBQ sauce dressing is sweet and delicious! It is flavorful without being spicy! It is seriously so delicious! Their breads are also top-notch! They slice them in big, thick pieces. My favorite is their dark honey rye bread. It probably doesn't sound good, but it is so good! They also have great, fresh Turkey sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, pizza...you name it! Everything I've had from Village Baker is delicious!
