I have wrote and rewrote this review a thousand times. Words can not express what Harmony has provided our family in our darkest days. Long emotional story short we had to send our rescued German Sheppard Casey to the big yard above. Before sending him to run with angels, we wanted to bring Casey home so the kids could say their goodbyes. The team at Harmony didn't blink an eye and jumped into action. They made sure that we had everything we needed to keep Casey comfortable throughout the night and prepared for his return the next day. That following morning we came in and they had a large private room all setup for Casey. The Harmony team held our hands and walked us through every step. They provided Casey medication to keep him calm and comfortable. They provided us the space to have our last moments with Casey. When we were as ready as we could be they assisted his eternal sleep. After they held our hands, and shared our sadness. Never once did we feel like this was just another day at the office for them. We felt from the moment we stepped into their facility that they were part of the family and were on the journey with us. Even after their "job" was complete they checked in with us to see how we were doing. When we picked up Casey's ashes we were blessed with the surprise of his footprint and clippings from his fur! I cannot express what a heart warming gift this was! However, that is not where they stopped. My heart melted even more when I opened the mail to find that the team at Harmony had planted a tree in his name. What an amazing heart warming moment to know that a tree will grow a lifetime in his honor! When I say that their compassion and professionalism is second to none I mean that with every fiber of my being. We will eternally be grateful to the team at Harmony and this will be the only place we take our fur-babies to! I've taken my two cats to Harmony Animal Wellness Center over four years, I believe. Their office staff is friendly and helpful, their two veterinarians seem to give very thorough exams, and the office itself is generally very comfortable. I used to be very happy with Harmony Animal Wellness Center . . . while I was ignorant of what holistic care actually consists of. As I've learned more about nutrition and herbs, eschewed pharmaceutical drugs, and tried to really address the cause of my cat's illness rather than just the symptoms, I found Harmony Animal Wellness Center's practices to be much more heavily weighted on the Western side of "integrative medicine". Dr. Frank did recommend a Chinese herb to help with my cat's anxiety; however, he didn't seem to know much about that herb or other herbs, for that matter. Like most other vets, they seem to focus on relieving symptoms rather than treating the cause, and pushing flea medications and antibiotics like metronidazole. I've attempted a more in-depth discussion of nutrition a few times only to be met with apathy. This place felt like I was visiting a friend's home. The clinic feels nothing like a traditional clinic. Everyone is very calm and relaxing so that the pets do not get stressed out. The staff never made me feel like they were in a hurry to get my through and on to the next patient. They took their time and answered all my questions. They gave my dog a thorough exam and gave me recommendations without pressuring me into buying their products. For close to ten years, Dr. Frank has been our vet. We love him and consider him part of our family. We have one "normal" cat and three special needs Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. When we adopted our first Cavalier, Dr. Frank was still at Redwood, he changed our dog's life (she was miserable when we adopted her - on too many meds, depressed, etc.) Dr. Frank got her on one good drug, and she was a new dog. When he moved on from Redwood, we followed him to Monroe. Although we live in NE Seattle, we never think twice about having to lug our animals out to "the country" to see Dr. Frank. All of the staff is great, and we know that we can call anytime with any questions or concerns. I should have written this review over 3 years ago when my beloved "little man," Brutus fell ill with kidney disease. The staff at HAWC were so caring and understanding, treating him weekly for his kidney failure with great humor and kindness. Peggy even trained me to give him fluids (props for bravery and patience...I was terrible at it) and when I couldn't get it right, she was there for us every week, giving little Brutus his fluids. When I moved to Monroe nearly 4 years ago I was so happy to Harmony and Dr. Frank and his team. It doesn't feel like you are walking into a cold, sterile environment. Everyone that works there is friendly, helpful and really cares about animals. About 7 mos. ago I moved to Redmond. I thought I should find a vet closer to home for my nearly 14 yr. old bichon. That was a big mistake! I spent nearly $800 on tests and x-rays. The vet wanted me to change the medications she was on and see an animal cardiologist ($500). I contacted Harmony and had a phone consult with Dr. Frank. I learned an expensive lesson, but I will be bringing my furbaby to Harmony from now on! read more

We've been taking our cats and dogs to Harmony for the past several years and Dr. Frank has been outstanding. The clinic feels like home and I believe it helps keep our pets calm while we visit. Today I had to bring in someone else's cat (the owners are out of town and clients of harmony) for a ruptured abscess we weren't aware she had until it popped; they squeezed me in, attended the cat to make her more comfortable and worked with me to figure the best course of action for the cat unlike other clinics I've been to that just tell you how things are going to be. Peeka Boo, my Lhasa Apso/Chinese Crested mix dog, had been having severe skin allergy reactions resulting in infections and sleepless nights for both of us. After 6 months, a lot of money and seeing 5 vets, who all told me it was environmental and that she needed allergy shots, we went to see Dr. Frank. He took one look at Peeka Boo and said it was the phenobarbital she had been taking for her seizures. (I had asked every vet we saw if she could be allergic to this medication and they all said no! And, that there was not another medication for seizures.) Dr. Frank changed her medication, gave me enough samples to get me through until the order came in and followed up to see how she was doing. I had a friend recommend Dr Frank to me, after struggling with my previous veterinary clinic (high staff turn over, hard to get an appointment, unwilling to spend any time with me or my animals-always wanted me to leave my dogs to pick up later but still charged an arm and a leg for an office visit). WE LOVE DR FRANK!!!!! The clinic is home like and comfortable. the staff are all friendly and pleasant. Dr Frank is always willing to take as long as needed in an appointment to answer questions, give thorough exams, and discuss any treatments. Further, he does not push medications or unnecessary interventions which I REALLY appreciate. We started acupuncture with my dachshund recently for her back; I was hesitant but willing to give it a try because I hate the thought of keeping her medicated or trying to afford surgery. The acupuncture went very well- my dog actually surprisingly relaxes and sits very well for her appointments-and her back is obviously improved after a treatment. The trade off for this amazing care, is that occasionally you have to wait a little bit longer to be seen...I am fine with a bit of a wait, because I know that Dr Frank will spend as much time as needed with my animals as well. read more

Frank has been my dog's vet since we adopted him 9 years ago, and now he sees my two cats as well. My dog has had many medical incidents over the years, which have all been treated by Frank. He is excellent at giving choices for treatment courses and a honest answer to all of my questions. His understanding of not only standard veterinary medicine, but holistic, herbal, and acupuncture means my pets are being evaluated and treated with a large knowledge base. When my dog was diagnosed with perianal fistual, I was so worried about what it would mean for his future. Frank worked with us to try least invasive treatment until we found what worked for Kai. Thanks to Frank, he made a full recovery. Just recently my cat became ill with Interstitial Cystitis and Frank kindly fielded my late workday call and was able to see my cat the next day. HarmonyAnimal Wellness Center and Dr. Frank are by far the best there is for your furbaby's needs. I can say this with authority since I have 10 years experience dealing with vets. I wish I knew about Dr. Frank sooner! I took Simon there in the summer of 2010 for a second opinion. Cats Exclusive (I debated on using names, but people need to be aware of their practices!) wanted to cut into my 12 year old kitty for exploratory surgery to see if he had IBS or Stomach Lymphoma, and this was after spending $1000's on other treatments and tests first. After ordering a sonogram they declared that he had cancer but wanted to cut him open to make 100% sure. Dr. Frank understood my need for not wanting to put Simon through unnecessary procedures and advised that it was the exact same treatment for either disease- the medicine would just stop working sooner if it was lymphoma. Simon had either 6-9 months, or the rest of his life. After 18 months cancer could be ruled out all together. He advised that he was ok with not knowing what the root cause was and that we could start (the SAME) treatment immediately or do exploratory surgery, get the answer and then start treatment a few weeks later. This was a big decision for me as I am the type of person that HAS to know what is going on, but after looking into my baby's beautiful green eyes I just couldn't keep putting him through tests. So I opted to move forward with the medication and... over 2 years later still going strong! Dr. Frank took Simon into consideration, not getting more money out of me, or running unneeded tests and this is why I love him and tell everyone who has a pet to go see Dr. Frank. Dr. Frank also helped calm me down and offer suggestions on how to handle Simon's sudden blindness that came on due to a spike in his blood pressure that occurred in the past few months. He is very patient with my unending questions. Dr. Frank was also a great resource for handling Simon during my upcoming roadtrip from Washington to Tennessee, and how to acclimate Simon to a new home, as being blind would cause some challenges. Dr. Frank also suggested an amazing spray that kept Simon relaxed and happy during the car ride- Feliaway- it uses the pheromones that cats release when they're rubbing their chin against you and are 'happy'. It worked and not a peep from him the entire time. The staff at the center is amazing as well, with Kris at the front desk and Peggy one of the vet techs that deserve a special kudos. I can tell that Peggy really loves Simon, she is super gentle with him and patient when he puts up his mandatory struggle (but then sits there and lets her pet him while he purrs uncontrollably) Kris is wonderful and very responsive with emails, and phone questions and getting Simon's medications ordered. It is obvious that they truly care about the both of us. I just moved to Tennessee and was so sad to have to leave such a great place. I asked if they wanted to come with me and alas, they opted to stay in Washington, go figure! So, in a nutshell-if you want the best TOTAL care for your pet, total meaning in their best interest and financially what is best for you as well then go see the team at Harmony Animal Wellness Center- trust me, you will not regret it!! read more

If you are looking for the best vet in the world, look no further than Dr. Frank! We met Dr. Frank in 2001. We moved here from Chicago and had an 8 year old mix that was that great dog you will have only once in a lifetime. A friend referred us to Dr. Frank and we loved him immediately. Our dog, Lex, had two bizarre ailments but was otherwise in good health. With one of the conditions, Dr. Frank explored many medicinal options and consulted with vet schools, etc. In then end, we all decided that surgery was needed. She ended up having "vaginoplasty" and Dr. Frank did the surgery. We never had any issues after that, but we found Dr. Frank could have a nice sense of humor when needed also. In 2002 we decided to add another dog to our family, a weimarener. Dr. Frank was very candid about the breed's pros and cons. The dog happened to have all of the negative attributes associated with the breed. Dr. Frank worked with us to find trainers, specialists, medication, etc. After many bites, we finally went in and said we did not know if we could do it anymore. He knew we were devastated and sat on the floor and watched us cry and tried to comfort us and was basically a counselor in that moment trying to let us know that there was nothing more we could have done. At 13, Lex was starting to have hip issues. Dr. Frank knew I would do anything for her and we wanted to rule out a certain disease. I was willing to pay for an MRI. Dr. Frank helped find us the most economical place and when the results found liver cancer and internal bleeding, I was not home for very long before Dr. Frank was calling to talk about next steps. He knew I would be devastated and wanted to check on us. Again, we had phone conversations and office visits to not only assess how Lex was doing, but to make sure we were okay and sympathize with us. He walked us through all the different scenarios in a very compassionate way and in the end we decided to euthanize so she would not suffer. This time we were all in tears, but I can never thank Dr. Frank enough in how he made such a horrific time for us the best it could have been for us and her. He said that when we were ready to get another dog to come see him. It was 6 years later when we found Dr. Frank's new practice and sent an email asking if we could come in and talk about dogs. Once again we saw Dr. Frank's amazing side. His receptionist called, who is very friendly and accommodating, and said he was so excited to have us come in. When we went in to the new office with our two kids, our family and life had changed quite a bit. He spent about an hour with us talking through all of the different breeds we were considering. He was like a talking encyclopedia of knowledge about breeds, their strengths and cons, their health status, etc. Dr. Frank remembered all of our issues with our one dog and did not want us to get a dog with any history of aggression in the breed due to our children. He also wanted to make sure the life expectancy was good because he did not want our children to have to go through the loss of a dog due to a breed with a shorter life expectancy. We were so amazed at how much he was invested in our process and all the aspects he was thinking through for us. In the end, we narrowed down the breed. Before we bought the dog, we took him in to Dr. Frank to give it a health check and get a sense of his personality. He has been back to Dr. Frank for his puppy check ups and an ear infection. I love Dr. Frank's approach when dealing with any medical issues because he always was honest with us and told us the options of what something could be and started with the least impactful for the dog and financially to us. He is very logical in his thinking and treats all the pets and people with such dignity and respect. We now drive 40 minutes to see Dr. Frank and we would never consider using a vet that was closer, and we have two on our street!!! read more
