I have been going to Harmony dentistry for the past eight years. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, besides helping to keep my teeth healthy and clean. I was in a car accident at age 13 and have bridges and crowns requiring regular maintenance and check ups. I'm 68 now and appreciate how attentive they are to their patients and making sure you're comfortable regardless of the procedure. The absolute WORST dentist my husband and I have ever been to. These folks will bleed you for every penny you have. They create problems so they can charge you more. They told me I NEEDED $10k worth of dental treatment. I got a second opinion and was told none of it was actually necessary and definitely not at the prices they quoted. And the billing was an absolute nightmare. They don't follow proper billing practices and procedures with the insurance company and it causes chaos. Avoid the nightmare and go somewhere else. Harmony Dentistry has truly changed my life. Before going to Harmony, I had a severe phobia of dentists, & Harmony changed it all! Their office staff makes every effort to make clients feel safe and comfortable, and have a variety of amenities I have never seen at any other dentist office (paraffin wax treatment on your hands while you get your dental work done, which really helped me calm down with my anxiety, Netflix, noise-cancelling headphones, etc). I even got a bunch of dental work done during the height of COVID and I still felt safe getting treatment. They take every effort to make sure everything is clean and safe, and use the latest technology available for dentistry. Dr Ash really helped cure my dentist phobia! He is so gentle and communicative, which really made me feel at ease. Since I've been going to Harmony for many years, I have noticed how much they care about preventative care. I have had much work done and even did Invisalign, and I couldn't be happier with my smile. Also a huge shoutout to Dr Truong! He is very kind and gentle, and does every effort to make sure you can save your tooth before just wanting to drill it down. Both Dr Ash & Dr Truong make me feel super comfortable and I could not be more grateful to have found Harmony Dentistry. My husband also goes and is also very happy with their care. Harmony Dentistry is 5 Star for a reason. I shopped 3 other dentists and received full consultations, out of those 3, Harmony was the best in all categories. They had the best price for Invisalign and accepted my insurance. The dentist was very knowledgeable and friendly and didn't try selling me but explained the benefits of the services I needed....Quite honestly, I had to push them to get me in there right away. They are also very punctual, from my first consultation to the day I had the work done, I have always been able to see the doctor without waiting. As for the front office, they are extremely friendly and proficient, it took me less then 5 minutes to get financing, sign the paperwork, and get the procedures started. This office also caters to your needs and throughout my procedures, the doctor always checked on how I was doing. The assistant also asked me what I wanted to watch and actually went on the web and allowed me to watch a live telecast of a fishing tournament I wanted to watch. I really wanted to like this place, but other offices were significantly cheaper. The biggest rip off was a mouthwash they are selling for $45. You can get it on AMAZON and even the manufacturers website for almost half the price. All the billing was also explained in a really messy / non transparent way. I went to Harmony after my previous dentist moved to LA, saw them for a cleaning on 2/6. They said I had about 5 cavities to fill, which I thought was so weird as I had been seeing my dentist every 6 months - never skipped a visit. So how do 5 cavities grow in 6 months? And my teeth are sparkling! Anyway, went back 3/8 to get everything filled. I was in the worst pain for a couple of days from the fillings, never experienced that before. After every visit I paid the bill in full. Fast forward to now, 7/10 I receive a bill. No itemized info, just a bill for $167 saying it's past 90 days. So to top off my complete unease with the entire multiple cavity situation, I'm getting a random bill. read more

The front office staff are friendly and prompt in their communication. Natalie, the manager is a wonderful person who knows all the goings on of the office and can help out with all issues, if there are any. Dr. Ash employs state of the art technology to augment his incredible skill. His technique for local anesthesia is gentle, nearly painless, complete and thorough. I had a back mandibular molar that had been abused from grinding and cavities that needed a crown. By way of background, I'm a plastic surgeon and one of the most nit picky person you might every encounter and who thinks perfect is almost good enough. In other words, I have exceedingly high expectations. Dr. Ash and his team not only met my expectations, they exceeded them in every regard. I was recommended this Dentistry by a colleague and I have to say I'm very glad I listened. The Dentistry features state-of-the-art equipment which make visits easy and pain free. I have watched Netflix on the screen they have above the chairs which really helps to shift your focus away from the fact that there are sharp objects in your mouth. The attention to detail and quality of service of the staff is second to none. I have been attended to by Linda, Taylor, Dr. Truong and Dr. Haeri, every interaction has been nothing short of amazing. Harmony Dentistry has a beautiful and fairly modern office in a large medical building and the staff were all very kind. However, for my first time there I was taken aback by a few things and am unsure if I'll return. As a new/first time patient there (I recently moved to the area), they didn't email me any billing info or share how their payment process works, the front desk girl asked for my credit card and didn't give or email me a receipt. The dental hygienist was very nice but lathered Vaseline on my lips (my husband had the same experience) that smelled like Raid Ant Spray. I dabbed most of it off because the smell was so strong. But unfortunately the biggest turnoff for me personally was the design of the office, it was all open concept, which I was surprised by. It was a packed day and I could loudly hear other patients discussing personal medical details with other staff - so much so, it felt like I had 10 conversations next to me though they were each in separate enclaves (I can't call them rooms because there are no doors or full walls). The female dentist I saw was super nice & understanding of any gum pain I had (I had extra sensitivities for the first time ever because I'm currently pregnant.) Overall, the staff were nice and seemed to handle the high volume of patients well but I guess I've just been spoiled by my previous two dentists (whom I would've rated 10/10 and 11/10) so the ambiance thing was a big turnoff for me, making me feel Harmony is more a 7/10. There was also a third woman who did my polishing of my teeth. It wasn't as personal of a dentist experience as I'm used to. In the past, when I was a new patient at a dentist, they even gave me a tour of the office, that did not happen here and everything felt very busy, almost rushed. read more

Harmony Dentistry is located in the Trabuco Hill shopping center, conveniently located next to a Sprouts and Baja Fish Tacos (that I originally discovered in Laguna Niguel and count as a favorite!) Parking is easy and their office is located on the 2nd floor. Upon entering, the office is clean, modern, and staffed by a team that I found to be courteous and friendly. The dental assistant, Iman, made me feel welcome before Dr. Truong arrived. Iman showed me a 3D imaging tool that I geeked out on, explaining how the technology has replaced the traditional plaster mold (no more biting down on that gooey, plaster of paris substance for minutes on end!) Iman expertly guided the 3D imaging tool around my mouth and within minutes, showed me a 3D model of my teeth. The model included a heat map to indicate the pressure points of my teeth. Again, very cool :) Dr. Truong arrived and had a great personality, explaining what he planned to do before he started. His bedside manner put me at ease and before getting started on my cavity, I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Truong asked what I wanted to watch on Netflix. Wow! I've been to plenty of dentist offices over the years and I must admit, that was a nice touch! Catching up on Netflix definitely made the procedure more comfortable (as I didn't have to start up at a blank ceiling). After the procedure, the receptionist team helped me schedule a follow-up visit and afterward, I went across the street to grab a Nekter to help reduce the swelling in my mouth and have a late lunch. Harmony Dentistry's practices are not evidence based, they seem to be much more monetarily incentivized. For example, they require patients to get x-rayed every 6 months regardless of the client's dental condition. If you don't want x-rays every 6 months then you're not allowed to be their client. This contradicts the American Dental Association which recommends that patients with no increased dental risks only get x-rayed every 12-36 months to limit radiation exposure (https://www.ada.org/-/media/project/ada-organization/ada/ada-org/files/resources/research/oral-health-topics/dental_radiographic_examinations_2012.pdf? rev=b074dde4cb0b4cc5a2343feb3f89b66d&hash-AFOBCF8A12C4937B2921177FE650CC54). So while Harmony Dentistry's x-ray policy is not backed by data, it certainly allows them to charge their patients more for care. Additionally, they automatically put their patients on a schedule for a cleaning every 4 months. Most people's insurance will only cover a cleaning every 6 months, but again, 4 months allows them to make more money off of each patient per year. I haven't been to Harmony for probably at least a year, of my own fault. I want to, because I'm so happy with them, but life sometimes gets in the way. However, I was listening to something online about dentistry and I thought it incumbent upon me to let everyone know how truly grateful I am to have been treated at Harmony. I've been around the block and back a few times, not just when it comes to dental health. It's not just the art of the dentistry, which I do attest is top-notch, as you will easily see from all of the other reviews, which makes it the right place and is second to none within a thousand miles, if not anywhere. It is the people who work there. They truly care about you and each other. They are just such nice people. They get along. They're happy. They love being nice to people and helping them. My teeth were struggling. They have helped me so much, so many times. Every time, so professionally and every one of them. There has never been a time where I had to wonder. Taking dentistry out of the calculus, I don't think I've ever been more impressed nor satisfied from any other business, maybe with the exception of my favorite restaurant. They're just great people and the best at what they do or they wouldn't be working there. Dr. Ash, who, in full disclosure, I consider my friend, must be a genius, not only because he's the best dentist I've ever known but because of his ability to pick the right staff. Every time I go in there, I'm looking for a chink on the armor. I've been there so many times, at least a couple dozen, and I haven't found one. I don't think it's just me who they care about. The five star reviews on Yelp didn't help this week, sadly. First, I requested a new patient appointment using their web portal, with a preference for Saturday mornings. Their reply: "do you want to set something up?" Gee, let me think... I just asked for a new patient appointment, stating day and time preference... what do you think? Ugh. Getting absolutely nowhere with the online booking process, I then called the front desk to speak to a live person. I was told I would have to wait until June twenty something, almost two months, and that wasn't even taking into account my Saturday preference. I declined as I really didn't want to wait that long to have my teeth cleaned. But here's the kicker. Someone else in that office finally answered my online request, offering me a couple of options within a week or two. Really? I replied that I was just told I'd have to wait until the end of June, to which this person writes: "we just had a couple of cancellations." Seriously? In the matter of five minutes you had two appointments cancel? My opinion: either sheer incompetence or lies, and it really doesn't matter because I'll never do business with this practice. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST dental office that I have ever been to. The dental chair actually had a massager (what?!), television screens on the ceiling above the exam chair so you can watch Netflix during the procedure or cleaning, and they show you and go through your X-rays on the same screen. They were able to move up my appointment at the last minute, and they are so transparent about billing. Overall I think that this is the best dental office that I have ever been to. I referred my brother, sister-in-law and both parents to this office. Linda is an amazing hygienist. Everyone is beyond professional and polished. I put in a request online for an appointment for a problematic tooth. They got back to me quickly and I was able to arrange everything pretty easily via email (bonus! I hate phone calls) I am verrrry anxious about going to the dentist. The front desk was very kind & understanding when I checked in. The waiting area was clean and looked nice. I didn't have to wait long till I went back. Their COVID protocols felt thorough, and made me feel safe. The stars are because the dental assistant, Taylor, was amazing. In my thirty years of going to the dentist and being super dentist-phobic it's rare I can find someone who is as friendly, calm, and reassuring as she was. She did my X-rays and did a great job walking me through it. The dentist (Dr Ash) came in and was patient, kind, and professional as he explained what was going on with my tooth.
