Due to issues with my back because of Scoliosis, I was in search of something different to help elevate my discomfort. Both my sisters-in-law were going to a MAT Master. Our niece was born pre-mature and had a ton of motor skill issues. I saw first-hand, the progress she made over the course of a couple of years with muscle activation. My other sister-in-law sought a MAT Master as the last resort to having neck surgery. While she had some range of motion back in her neck after one session, she continued with sessions for about 6 months (+) and then moved to a maintenance schedule. The surgery was never needed. Last summer, I had a series of MAT sessions scheduled until a bulging disc decided it was time to let its presence be known. While my back never bothered me during all of this, nor did I know I had a bulging disc, it left me with neuropathy around my right knee. I had surgery to correct, but trying to walk through the knee pain, my body compensated. This took a toll on my posture. Walking was strenuous. There was a minor complication to my incision which delayed starting PT for about a month. When I was finally able to start PT, I was very surprised how fast my muscles atrophied. During all this we were in the process of moving to UT. I so wanted to get back to MAT but schedules did not allow and moving day came. Sitting in a car for 1300 miles did not help. Fast forward to present day. After getting settled, finding a MAT Master was on the top of my list. Searching the Muscle Activation Technique website, I was very excited to find Jesse Wild, MAT Master in Park City, Jeremy Ranch area. I am on my second month MAT session with Jesse. My knee is almost back to 100%. The muscles in my legs are not jumping all over the place trying to compensate for the lack of strength lost. Jesse is patience, listens to what I think may be happening to my body, takes the time to explain why the lack of muscle movement may be taking place, and what muscles are involved. He is a true professional, takes his training / practice seriously, but is fun and down to earth. If you are at your wits end, have been told surgery is necessary, want to step outside the box, so to speak, and try something unique and different, you owe it to yourself to contact Jesse and give MAT a try. I love the idea that a space can have multi uses and shared, which can reduce the upfront costs to someone that wants to get into business but doesn't have the capital to have their own dedicated storefront. I attended an event here that was geared toward human connectivity and play through games. We sat on pillows on the floor, ran around in our socks chasing each other and stood in a circle sharing our thoughts with the group. It was a fun event, and the space accommodated us nicely. I'm excited to see what this morphs into as the participants expand their services and more people learn about it. Note: it's a little tricky to find from the outside, especially if it's dark, since there isn't really any signage.
