I had a consultation with Dr. Holtquist who explained everything in great detail and warned me of any complications that could arise. A few days before my surgery, the office let me know that Dr. Holtquist had a personal matter to attend to and that Dr. Medley would be performing my surgery The day of surgery I walked in nervous and was quickly put at ease with the warmth and kindness of Dr. Medley. It was honestly the easiest and best experience I've had with a surgery. I was sedated for 99% of the procedure and only remember him telling me when they were moving on to my next tooth. About a week later, I started to have some pain in one area and called the office. Abby was extremely helpful in getting me scheduled for a follow up the next day. Dr. Medley explained everything he would do again and packed my socket with some medicated gauze which took all of 3 minutes and quelled my pain within 15 minutes. I cannot rave enough about this office, the helpful staff, or Dr. Medley. If anyone every needs a recommendation, this will be the office I tell them about.

In the two days post surgery, I started feeling severe pain, assuming I may have a dry socket, called the office and was accommodated even on a holiday, which truly meant the world to me. The pain, immediately started to subside and I was able to proceed as normal with the healing process. Super thankful to Dr. Medley and partner for everything.

What can I say? Dr. Wert gets the job done. I've had work done at San Antonio Oral Surgery twice…read morenow, and both times Dr. Wert and his team have taken care of me. Dr. Wert is a pro. Knows exactly what he's doing and gets the job done right. I have never had an issue. His staff is excellent, and there is never a wait for your appointment like some dentists. They are really on the ball. The receptionist gave me some flack for arriving on time for my consultation instead of coming early. I will admit, they had asked me to come early, but I simply couldn't make it. No need for browbeating me over it. As far as the comment about charging $198 for an x-ray, it's true, but you should know your insurance coverage going in. Insurance companies aren't going to cover x-rays at the surgeon when you should have gotten them from your primary dentist beforehand. The $198 is an avoidable cost if you understand your insurance coverage. Dr Wert and his team provide 5 star service. Only giving 4 stars because, one, the dentist chair is worn with old cushioning. Don't need my arse aching while my teeth are being drilled and yanked at, and, two, they never called to follow up after the procedure which is a very common practice.

I get it, no one likes going to the dentist, so an oral surgeon is even more terrifying, right?…read more Not Dr Wert. After another dentist in SA left me with a botched filling, I needed either a root canal or extraction and implant. Since I'm a baby and want as little work as possible, I chose the extraction and implant, since they have a much greater longevity than root canals. I showed up to his office in agony, wanting nothing more than for someone to lop my jaw off. Dr Wert informed me that due to the bad filling, I had infection and he didn't want to cause me more pain by operating on an infected mess (my words, not his). I was sent home with a great supply of pain meds, antibiotics, and valium for my dental fear to take on the procedure date. When I returned for my appointment, I was ushered into a warm procedure room, given a cozy, plush blanket, and they made sure I had music to help me zone out. This was the first dental experience I've had where they truly made sure I was comfortable, with my surroundings and the pain factor. I can honestly say the actual procedure didn't hurt one bit. With each follow up appointment, Dr Wert continued to show great chair side manner, making sure I was pleased with the results and that I wasn't in any pain at all. I can't say it enough: this is by far the best dental experience I've ever had.

The staff--from the receptionist and nurses to the anesthesiologist and surgeon--were all incredibly helpful, professional, and caring. The only reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the location, as we had to travel in from out of town for the procedure.

Back in the summer of 2022 I was told that I needed to get all four of my wisdom teeth out and my…read moredentist referred me to Dr. Casillas. My mother scheduled the appointment for me and dropped me off. As this was right after Covid they did not let her enter the room with me even though neither of us had been debriefed on the procedure. I was only 18 and had never had any sort of surgery and figured I had to do it so I mustered up my courage and went in alone. I sat in the chair for two hours. I hoped to ask questions and get a break down on the surgery and after care and healing process. Three nurses entered during the time I waited and didn't even look at me. I am naturally a very curious person and like to know step by step what is going to be done to me and why so I asked them questions with their backs turned to me and I was either ignored or told to talk to the doctor(who I had yet to even meet). There was only one nurse that was willing to talk to me very briefly and I asked that I really wanted to keep my teeth (I've heard of others keeping their teeth and I also have all of my baby teeth) she told me she'd try to find out for me but it's not usually done at that office. Finally the doctor came in, pulling up a chair next to me and started preparing what looked like an IV drip. I tried to ask him questions but felt dismissed and rushed. I asked about my teeth and he said that they were a biohazard and I was not allowed to keep them(should've just kept them in my mouth). I asked about what he recommends I eat after since I assumed I would need soft foods and he said I could eat whatever I wanted. I hadn't had anything to eat that day so I jokingly said if I could eat a chic fil a burger when I get out and he full hearted encouraged me to eat a burger and that it would be totally fine. I also said that since I'd never been under anesthesia I'd like to be let known when I would get that and how it worked. He put in the IV drip assuring me it was just water and Then without warning was knocked out. I remember blinking and when I opened my eyes the room was dark with the dentist light shining above me. I asked if we were gonna get started and by two nurses im carried up to stand and guides to a wheel chair telling me I did great... I didn't even get the chance to talk to him about my tmj and lock jaw problems. I couldn't open my jaw more than half an inch for two months and no I couldn't even eat my chic fil a Mac and cheese when I got out. It was the worst experience ever. I wasn't even treated like a person. I knew nothing and 4 years later I'm still upset about the experience. PLEASE DONT GO HERE THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR PEOPLE OR THEIR CONCERNS.

They were absolutely right. I first called Dr. Verrett's office with a few questions regarding my upcoming wisdom tooth surgery, specifically to confirm whether anesthesia would be available. I will say that the initial information I received was not entirely accurate, particularly the statement that my medical coverage "wouldn't even be looked at," which I knew was incorrect. I'm very glad I trusted my instincts and requested a callback. That decision led me to Heather, who v(to me) she went above and beyond - and i look back at her interactions with me now and i think its just her natural way of being. She was somehow able to fit me in for an in‑office consultation within an hour of returning my call. Choosing to come in person ended up being a complete lifesaver. The in‑office experience immediately put me at ease and relieved so much anxiety. Every question I had was answered thoroughly, and I left the office fully understanding what I would be responsible for financially the following day. I was also relieved to learn that my medical insurance was able to cover a significant portion of the anesthesia. Big shoutout to Cindy as well for helping me understand expectations of next day. I was already extremely nervous that week, but the entire team was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding through every step of the process. I am now seven days post‑surgery after having three wisdom teeth removed, and my recovery has been going very well. I truly can't thank this office enough for the care, support, and reassurance they provided. The in‑house experience made all the difference, and I'm extremely grateful for the level of service and compassion I received.
