Relayed information to a different call ctr rep, but for some reason it didn't make it to the local branch. Received call from original call ctr rep the day before to confirm my 0900 appt time thinking everything was kosher. Got to the branch for my appt, check in, and find that my insurance info was missing. Anyway, stuff had to get done, receptionist said it would take approx. 40-45 min to get the insurance info, 0900 turned into 1000, 1000 turned into 1100, by that time I'm getting hungry and ready for lunch, but remembered that you're not suppose to eat or drink after the fluoride treatment. I get that this is my first time to this branch, paperwork is needed, insurance, yada, yada, yada...but as seamless as it "was" to set the appt, I was hoping for a smooth visit. First impressions? Facility, lobby and office are nice and clean. Bummer I couldn't get in at my appointed time. Hurry up fluoride treatment, I'm starving!

He knew he wasn't qualified to help her--but only after her spending thousands of dollars at Oakwell over the years. And today, after my mother no longer has any teeth, we got charged $50 for her canceling her last dental cleaning at Oakwell under the 48 hour grace period. My mother has been their patient for years and they won't waive the $50 fee EVEN THOUGH SHE DOESN'T HAVE ANY TEETH FOR THEM TO CLEAN. Instead of asking if anything has changed, they basically make you do the job of the front desk lady and fill everything out yourself. One, they don't use a different polish on veneers than on regular teeth (which my previous dentist did). Two, the tech who worked on my teeth was rough, especially on the gum line around my veneer. And three, while the office design was nice, the technology they used for the cleaning was a bit old-school (dated). I'm just used to a practice that uses newer forms of cleaning and polishing procedure. As I was private pay, the total was $250+, which is highway robbery for a simple cleaning. I go every few months, so my teeth are almost always never a problem. I was in and out in 30-40 minutes. The cost didn't come anywhere near equating to the experience.
