Was very specific and clear when scheduling my service, asked several clarifying questions and was assured my car service (oil change) wouldn't take more than 2 hours. At drop off, Service advisor promised to text updates and treat car as if I was waiting in the lobby. Called at the 2 hour mark because there had been no follow up as promised. I was told my appointment time wasn't the actual car service appointment time (what?) and that other customers were ahead of me in line and it would be another couple hours. So had I waited, I would be in there lobby for 4 plus hours?!?! Terrible customer service and communication.

Meh. I bought a 2019 Subaru Outback from Puyallup Subaru last year, and the experience was typical…read moreof buying a new vehicle... unpleasant. I specifically wanted the Premium trim package Subaru Outback wagon, with the side vehicle warning system. After a really nice test ride, I'd fallen in love with the car immediately (this was my second Subaru). The car was a joy to drive and the iSight is an ingenious safety feature. After going back to the dealership, I was surprised to find that the side vehicle warning system was an upgrade on the Premium model, which I wasn't told about until after the numbers were crunched. "It's about $1200 more", the salesman said. Um, no... more like $2500 more. Granted, it also included some really nice features that I'm now glad I have (auto lift hatch, moonroof, navigation, etc), but finding this out well into the negotiation stings to this day. I ended up owing 21k after putting down (and having a trade in, they gave me a whopping 2500 for my car, typical of dealerships lowballing on trades) approximately 15k. A far cry from the initial "we can get you into a Premium for 25k" that I was told. I have since experienced extremely poor mileage, an average of 24 mpg combination city and highway. When I brought this up with the service department, I was curtly told "you must have bad driving habits" (which was completely incorrect, I drive well within the speed limit, do not suddenly brake before a light, etc), as the average is stated to be 25 to 33 mpg. No offer of investigating why the car doesn't even get the minimum mpg advertised. I did contact Subaru of North American and was basically told the same thing. Another problem I had was that the trim on the roof rack separated within a few months. While they replaced it, I was rudely told "this happens on all Subaru's, it's the way the car is made. We'll replace it once but that's it". For a car costing well over 33k, you'd think they'd have this worked out before putting it on the market. Nice. The service department is decent. They do provide loaners, have very flexible hours (both are a plus), and a very nice customer waiting area. Overall, Puyallup Subaru isn't the best dealership, but it's not the absolute worst either, which isn't saying much. When I buy my next Subaru, I'll go to Auburn Subaru, as I've always had great service from... I probably should have gone there when I bought the car. If you are looking to buy a new or late model Subaru, I'd avoid the Puyallup dealership. While they aren't crooks, they certainly aren't the most honest and supportive dealership. I almost feel like after the sale, I was left out to dry.
