I called around and Yoli was knowledgeable, friendly, and stated she can't promise a quick same day turn around because that wouldn't be best for my ring. I trusted her and left it with them over the next couple of days. They were able to k spent it closely and detect what was wrong and fixed my loose Center diamond. She made sure I knew the diamond signature number before and after so no funny business went on. Even tho it was a simple service, I still felt like a valued customer. The whole experience was pleasant from my first interactions with Yoli on the phone to taking my diamond wedding ring home a few days later. Recently was looking to purchase a simple silver band for my girlfriend and found this place on here. After calling and speaking with Ryan, I went into the shop and he showed me a bunch of different options and gave some ideas of what I might want to go with. From the first time I called down to Harold Stevens and when I showed up, there was no pressure. They are actually complete opposite of pressure sales. I was surprised when we started looking at diamonds that they didn't want me to make any immediate commitments. I have looked at diamonds before, but never have been educated as Harold had did when I met with him. He didn't try and up-sale me on the diamond. He had me pick the diamond I felt was the best for my fiance. After many trips back, I had found the perfect set up and diamond. Joy was, well, an absolute joy to work with. I recently inherited a pair of european cut diamonds that were once a pair of earrings that belonged to my great great grandmother. After a ton of online research we decided that Harold Stevens was our best bet for a local jeweler with a vintage eye and custom options. Joy was wonderfully helpful in choosing the right metal (white gold without a rhodium coating) to make my heirlooms sparkle. The stones, each around 100 years old, were both chipped and had a slightly warm color, but Joy saw the beauty in their age and sentimental value. After flipping though a ton of settings on Pinterest, Joy offered that they could replicate a striking Art Deco design. About 2 weeks after our visit we received the first CAD drawings of the ring and it was absolutely spot on! About a month after dropping off my stones we picked up the most beautifully made custom ring that is unlike any I've seen before or since! I'm officially "that girl" staring at my own hand, it is more beautiful than anything I could have imagined! They even provided an appraisal at no charge for insurance purposes! I sought out Harold Stevens for sizing, retipping of the prongs, and appraisal of my new engagement ring - handed down from my fiance's grandmother - after reading all the positive yelp reviews. The woman who helped us was very pleasant but stated that the ring would have to be left at the store before they could even provide a price for the work. Finally, she pulled out a book and began to say that sizing down would cost $67. But a moment later, another woman came over and insisted the work would cost nearly $1000 because the ring would be sized down from a 9 to a 4 &1/2. WHAAAA!?! Seriously, $1000 to size a ring!? Anyway she wanted to make a whole new shank or have us get a wax mold made to fabricate a duplicate ring in the smaller size. I felt that the price seemed very high for a simple platinum band with a diamond and two baguettes (i.e. not a full diamond band or any unusual materials). Beyond that, my fiance and I left feeling disappointed that the ring would no longer be his grandma's ring after they finished chopping it to bits. In the end, we asked around for personal referrals and a jeweler in the jewelry exchange did the work while I watched for $70. Granted, the environment there is not fancy and sparkly like H.S., but the ring is beautiful, the diamonds are still securely mounted, it fits me perfectly, and I didn't have to leave my new engagement ring for weeks or even days. Beth, certified gemologist, did the appraisal and I really liked that they didn't have to keep the ring for a couple days to do the appraisal.
