Visit 2 Friday Night and I ordered again, and my chicken was overcooked and dry (see pics) I had a customer service issue and spoke with Ron the Owner the next day he was advised of the Quality issue and did not offer to replace it therefore changing my previous rating. This Harold's obviously did NOT get the Memo, when you order Harold's, you want you @&$? sauce. This is the only Harold's I have seen charge I grew up with it being customary. Visit 1 - It was Friday so I was lazy and I had not had Harold's Chicken for several years. When I worked downtown we had a food truck that would come for lunch. I ordered the following: wings with mild sauce (sauce forgotten by them), breaded mushrooms, fries and two pizza puffs. The wings were perfectly seasoned, and not fried too hard. The texture of the fries was great! The mild sauce on the chicken was good, and the mushrooms were light, and not overdone. I spoke with Catina, about my missing mild sauce that I paid for. Went to Harold's for the first time on 8/15. The chicken was spot on & delicious! Couldn't wait to have it again! An older gentleman was cooking. We ordered again yesterday, my husband said a younger guy with dreads was working. Got home & opened the bag & everything was soggy. The fries were maybe half cooked, but the worst part was the fried chicken. After a couple of rubbery bites I noticed it was grey inside. I suspect it was spoiled. Yuck! Just picked up this order. Fires clearly are old and reheated maybe even cooked in dirty grease. My husband brought a pan home served them up on each of our plates, yet no one would touch them not even my junk food loving teen boys. Attach a picture and video. Definitely not a fresh order. Was working nearby. Saw they were under new management. Gave it a try, pleasantly surprised it wasn't expensive. The 6 piece chicken and fries were very good. Got the mild sauce on the side, very tasty. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Will definitely be back next time I'm working in the area. read more

Customer service is very lacking. I wasn't greeted when I entered nor was I greeted when someone finally came to the window. I didn't ask for sauce on the food so when I asked for sauce on the side, I was told it would be $1. I was shocked as I have never had to pay for sauce at any Harold's unless I was asking for extra. I doubt I will ever return to this establishment as customer service is really important to me, but the food was good if you don't mind poor customer service. read more

I never understood what the height was around Harold's chicken. I mean...it's ok. The clerk that took our order had no personality. The food was mediocre at best. The fries were cold by the time I got home. Better packaging would help that. I'm not a huge fan bug I know folks in NW Indiana and Chicago swear by it. It was just ok. read more

This place was a must have on my latest trip to the Chicago area. First of all the one I originally wanted to go to was closed with no signs posted. So hubby finds one to go... he asks if he can substitute coleslaw and the lady said no.... That's all fine and good that we can't. Anyway he goes further to ask about other locations and why they were closed and the lady gets attitude and says, we don't substitute here so take the slaw or leave it. She didn't give him time to speak before she cut him off... rude! The part I'm most mad over is during her need to argue she fails to add my 3 piece wing meal to the total. Look if ur gonna run a business don't argue with ur customers and pay more attention. I'd say this was a last trip for me. The food was just ok today too. read more

By far the worst customer service that I've ever received. The lady that took my order was on FaceTime with a crying baby. She didn't greet me, so I didn't know she was ready to take my order. While taking my order she never asked if I wanted sauce on my food. I had to ask for mild sauce after my order was ready and bagged. We walked in and there was no acknowledgment from the employees. The employees continued with their conversation not once, did any of them ask us what we would like to order. I found this to be very unprofessional and distasteful. You cannot continue to run a business like this and you expect to it to thrive. This is my first time ordering from this location and also my last. I placed an order through a food delivery service thinking it would come from the nearest restaurant to my location (Merrillville). Instead it came from the Harold's Chicken in Griffith. Although it did arrive still warm, the wings and fries were very hard and old tasting (as though they were recooked).
