Our de facto Harold's since the 91st & Ashland location closed. Pros - Very good, fresh food, fast service and great specials every day. Cons - "Neighborhood" location in every sense of the word. The owners and workers can't help that but patrons should be on guard. It is possible to go there and have the lobby absolutely f-u-l-l of drug addicts and alcoholics. They are acting up, bothering people....it's sad and frustrating. I took my wife in with me once and I was flat out embarrassed. Great chicken! The breading had amazing flavor that soaked into the meat of the chicken incredibly well. The meat was perfectly juicy. French fries weren't special, but not a negative by any means. Great value for some authentic fried chicken. The restaurant doesn't have anywhere to sit, it's an order window, and it is cash only, so come prepared! The workers haven't been trained in customer service a day in their lives, and the lobby is packed with people during a pandemic. Don't bother calling in, you'll be waiting 10-15 minutes anyway.
