    Chicken Philly & Fries

This is my second time visiting this restaurant and it's so nice! The inside is very clean & organized and all of the staff is really nice. The wait was about 10 minutes and everything came out super fresh and flavorful. The quality of the food lives up to the name of it being the sandwich house. I enjoy coming here and it's easily become one of my fav restaurants in Hattiesburg.

Bacon cheeseburger, chicken finger plate, and kids' chicken finger plate.

A nice place to take the family. The inside is beautiful and the food was good! Will be going back.

This is a place we frequently pass by on Hardy St. and wanted to try it. It is a nice, charming place. They have a drive thru, so that is pretty convenient if you don't have time to go in. The workers seemed nice. The food is okay. We ordered the dressed roast beef poboy with gumbo and fried chicken sandwich with fries. The gumbo was actually pretty good and flavorful. The poboy, however, had a weird aftertaste, and the meat was really soft almost like ground up meat and tasted like canned meat. The gravy didn't have much flavor either. The chicken sandwich was good and crispy, and fries were basic.

Grilled cheese and vegetable soup. Was pretty good.

Have only eaten here 2 times, and the first time was about 14 years ago. My wife likes the food and it wasnt bad. Really wanted to try the gumbo but they only sell it on certain days. I got a patty melt and it was ok and my wife ordered the grilled cheese and vegetable aoup. The soup had a slightly sweet flavor which i wasnt fond of. But she enjoyed it. The place tries to give a New Orleans vibe with the pictures on the wall and the food. But what struck me most about the place was a picture of a black man with those super-big lips. Old habits die hard i guess. The world wont ever change.

Let me say something about their gumbo as a resident from Louisiana. This is not gumbo.

Good burgers and sandwiches. 10/10 would recommend. Onion rings and fries were good. Country fried steak was huge and tender.

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, because we very much wanted to enjoy this restaurant,…read morebut it was not a very good experience in any sense. We were in Hattiesburg for the night and found Murky Waters through their website, which indicated through their menu, photos, prices, and their suggestion that reservations should be made that this was elevated southern barbecue. It is not. Which is fine, if that's what you're serving and charging for. But here's what we got: "Smoked ahi tuna dip" = canned tuna salad ($12.95, served with Keebler Club crackers) Ham & cheese po' boy- it was just a ham and cheese sandwich on a long roll, and the roll was cold ($13.95) My son liked the brisket, but said the Mac & cheese was not good. My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. If you go, don't order the tuna.
