I know this is a new business and I hope the owners take my opinion seriously. I believe my insights will help. Food - once delivered correctly, it was deliciously seasoned. I had the Patty Melt. Burger was delicious but onions were sweated (aka soft and white) vs. sautéed (brown and carmelized). Originally my fries were barely warm, which was surprising because my husband had a burger and his fries were piping hot. So they came out at the same time and the kitchen just dumped the "old" fries on my plate. Not cool. Fries were replaced with hot fries. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with AMERICAN cheese and got a hamburger instead. When it came back from the kitchen, I was halfway through my Melt. We really wanted to eat together. My husband also had a Cesar salad and he said it was good. The selection of beer is interesting. We had the Kane Head High and it was crisp with some citrus notes. As for ambience, I like a lot of the decorations but the lighting is so bright, I believe I could easily perform intricate surgery. Any chance you can tone it down a bit? Grabbed a to go order on way home last night. First time trying Harper's. My wife said her cheesesteak was great. I got wings. Undercooked, had to throw them in the oven when we got home. What is it with take out wings? Same at Chelsea's couple weeks ago. Eat in great, to go, not cooked enough. read more

This would have been the first time we've been out to eat since COVID started. We were really looking forward to it. We specifically called to see if we needed to make a reservation and the girl on the phone said "no, come on down, you should be fine". 10 minutes later we get there and there is a 1/2 hour wait.... It would be helpful if whomever is answering the phone was smart enough to suggest a reservation if someone takes the time to specifically call to see if you need one. I don't know why we waited so long to visit! Service was super friendly and the food was delicious (try the Thai Brussels). My salted caramel pumpkin beer was kicked so I only received about 3/4 glass (insert sad face) but it was delish. The Mister enjoyed the baked potato soup special and my burger was massive (I ordered medium but was definitely medium well) and took most of it home. The restaurant was a bit drafty and smelled syrupy (which they accounted was due to a candle). We will definitely come back and try out the outdoor area while the weather is still nice. read more

Service and food was wonderful. It's a very nice setting. They were very accommodating for our large group. Every one had a great time.

We do not live very close (Morristown area) so we don't get here that often. But our bestie Bob does so we get here from time to time. We had not been here in quite a while I guess. Omg! It was always good - but the menu selections now are numerous and varied. Everything we had was amazing! I had a wonderful Fiesta salad. My husband had a steak quesadilla. He shared with me -.probably the best I have ever had. Bob had a delicious burger. The sangria - made to order - was perfectly prepared (not too sweet for me) by Liss. The best was that Adam, the owner - who I haven't seen in quite yelled out a happy hello to me as I walked to the ladies room! I was quite surprised he remembered me! This place is the best! I wish I lived closer because we would be here every day - but I do not mind taking a ride to Harper's! Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I went there 2 weeks ago. It's been awhile since we've been there. We ate outside and had a wonderful waiter. Wish I remembered his name. He always had a smile and was great. Well, the food was delicious, the fried Calamari WOW ginger pineapple sauce was outrageous and the burgers were just as outrageous. We had the trademark burger. Delicious!! There is a first time for everything! I have been writing restaurant reviews on establishments all over the world for 19 plus years now. Places that are considered 'Dives' to 'Michelin' starred restaurants. A few friends suggested I check out this establishment. It took me a while to make it here. My reviews are based on ever interaction I have, not just the food. One of the waitstaff looked me directly in my eye 3 times and walked passed me - no hello, or give me a second or sit anywhere you like ! My total wait time before someone acknowledged I existed was 4 minutes -- which is long in my book. Maybe it was just understaffing issues OR maybe they assumed everyone knows to just seat themselves OR maybe the owners need to put up a giant sign at the door that says "Seat yourself wherever "! The lesson here is: IF the service starts out bad, it will ONLY go down hill from there. Just drive on by people ... just drive on by !!! read more

The burgers we had were 4.5 stars and I'd highly recommend getting a burger. The bun fell apart and couldn't hold up the juicy grease. The sriracha honey wings were crispy and well cooked. The sauce was too sweet without the required heat to counterbalance the honey. The nachos were okay and wouldn't recommend ordering. Truffle fries were fantastic with a hefty dose of shaved Parmesan. A dipping sauce would be a nice touch. Skip the bland fish tacos and try the Cobb salad. The food and service are both okay but the decor is quite rustic and pleasant. read more

Definitely a good addition to the Clinton area. My wife and I have been here twice and both times enjoyed our meals. Burger very good, pulled pork sandwich, buttermilk chicken sandwich, fries and fish tacos excellent. Menu is better than all the other bars in the area...more than just fried food and burgers. Nice beer selection, decent size bar area. Service is good... sometimes a bit slow but they have a sense of urgency and are certainly working hard. read more

I visited this restaurant this weekend for the "In-and-Out Burger" and it did not disappoint! It was amazing. I will definitely be back for the Animal Burger. The sangria was great too. As a follow up to my previous review and Adam's assurance there was a miscommunication in the kitchen I returned recently to tremendous fish and chips. The order had three perfectly prepared battered cod pieces and ample delicious, perfect fries. Again, I cannot stress enough how GREAT the fries are. The atmosphere at the bar (where I usually dine) is pleasant and welcoming. The staff are all very nice. The beer on tap rotates on occasion and found an excellent selection from nearby Sunken Silo brewery. By the way, burgers are always a treat here, as well. And don't forget those fries. read more

We have been to harpers table a few times. We have always had a great experience with the food and drinks. I enjoy the large selection of beer they have. Once we were sitting in the bar area and the cook came out with an order he made an extra of and gave it to us for free. That was really cool. All the staff is great too. Awesome place. read more

Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. I like sitting in the bar side. Sport on TV, sangria is excellent. Nice outdoor seating too.

Nothing special - wings were ok, calamari was horrible, beet reuben disappointing, best part of lunch was the side salad. Ok beer selection, but left unsatisfied. Staff needs to step it up a bit - in a competitive market it's important to bring your A game. As of now Cryans Tavern in Annandale is much better. Hope these guys can turn it around. read more

I went to Harpers Table recently with my wife and some friends. The atmosphere was really enjoyable and it had a relaxing vibe inside. I liked how the restaurant and bar were decorated with recycled materials from old barns in the area within Hunterdon County. I ordered the steak sandwich and was not disappointed. It was a grilled ribeye chopped into bite size pieces with cheese and the holy grail of mushrooms, onions, gravy on top held together by a toasted bun. Pro tip: request a side of the bourbon mayo and put it in the steak sandwich, it puts the sandwich over the top. Also the owner came by our table to greet us and check in on how we were doing. He was a really nice guy and seems to genuinely care about his customers. Overall a good experience and I will be coming back. read more

For reference: The Fox & Hound is my go to local pub/restaurant. I give Harper's Table a Big Thumbs Up: This is a welcome addition to the Clinton area casual dining/pub scene and offers an easy to digest menu that will satisfy bar patrons, date nights and the family. Service is professional and attentive but easy going. I had first visit trepidations after reading the mixed reviews but look forward being a regular. The food is uncomplicated and fresh, leaning towards comfort, but with lighter options mixed in there. I think as a newer establishment as of those reviews they were working out the kinks. The only thing I would change is related to table size. My part of 5 was seated at a rectangular 4 top which really didn't cut it, with me being seated at the "head" and getting bumped by passerby's. I'm sure it's some they'll work out over time. Get bigger tables! Go, you won't regret it, it's a really decent, respectable neighborhood type joint. read more

We came here for my son's birthday. (4 of us) We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. After 45 minutes I approached the hostess and asked about how much longer. She said that there were two parties ahead of us. I told her that we are going to cancel... it was too cold and we were hungry. Out of the clear blue she said "I can seat you now". I said, ok great, and we followed her up to the tents. There were 5 empty tables cleaned and waiting. I didn't say anything but what the heck were we waiting for. Then we waited 10 minutes for a waitress. Then another 15 for her to take our order. We've been sitting waiting for our food for 50 minutes and we are still waiting. The food is great! Love the salads. The service is great as well as the wait staff, who are very attentive. The atmosphere can be very busy on Friday and Saturdays. So, I recommend getting a reservation if going on the weekend. The ambience is nice .. I would prefer the lighting to be less bright and they should add more Booths instead of tables to make date night more private. read more

You can tell that they haven't been open long. 30 minute wait to be seated then waited another 10 to 12 minutes for the waiter to come over to take our drink order. I had to ask another server for help. Manager came over ask if there were any problems with service and I relayed my experience. He said that he would "look into it". Two minutes later waiter comes over and give a meek apology. Food was okay. Crispy buffalo sandwich was chicken fingers with hot sauce. Burgers was fine. read more

The three of us thought we would try to newly opened Harper's table since it was our understanding that the owner had done most if not all of the carpentry. We ordered Cobb salad with steak, steak sandwich, and patty melt. Everything for the atmosphere, service and food quality and quantity was outstanding. In fact, we took half of the sandwiches home with us. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and will be visiting them again. read more

I heard there was a new chef in town. I had the chicken quesadilla and the Plain Jane burger with cheddar cheese. Had to give the place a second try but glad we did. Menu is still a bit limited, but agree that they should focus on what they have and do it well vs. offering too much.
