Awesome beer selection! There is something for everybody, and you can sample them too! Keep in mind there are no cocktails just beer which is fine but I was also expecting a cocktail option. Drove up from NYC on a vacation, Yelped/ Trip adviser on things to do, and this place popped up. WELL WORTH IT! Stopped an another brewery not to far (Long Trail), Harpoon offers Saturday tours unlike that other spot that's closed on weekends. $5 tour that took 40 minutes, sipping & sampling through out the tour. Needless to say, I was saucy :-D So to sober up, I remember eating the Clam chowda & something else I can't remember (bcz I was trashed). Very tasty, had my wife's sandwich & fries, not greasy at all. All 17 beers on tap are very reasonable & offer 4 samples before you pick your pint. Maybe I'm spoiled bcz of the NYC hours of operations, but they close at 9pm. If you've never been on a tour here & and your a stout/ lager drinker, sample 100 Barrel seriers(Made with VT Maple Syrup) then the Munich Dark. That deserves an A++, OMG! WTF! SMH! Really cool brewery nestled in a cozy Vermont town. We went this summer with a large bachelor party group. The place was packed but we were able to get a spot at the bar. The tap selections included almost every Harpoon beer made. The place has a full restaurant as well, packed with tables and servers. We got the soft pretzel which was served with insanely delicious cheese and a spicy mustard. So good. My favorite part about this place was the outside area which was bright, green, and filled with fun games like cornhole. I only wish I lived closer. They also have a cool little shop where you can buy beer, gear, or glass. read more

They have stouts, IPA's, and fruit flavors plus a couple of mixed drinks for specials. The food was good, felt a little rushed by our waitress but other than that it was decent. Absolutely one of the most thorough and detailed tours I've ever been on, and I've been on a few. When you take a brewery tour, you can expect to see canisters of hops, and talk through the general process how to make beer. But you cannot always expect to really hear about the science, and the processes unique to the particular brewery. But that is exactly what I got from the trio of highly knowledgeable and personable guides. Much like the Boston Harpoon, there's ample merch to buy. And much like the other "rural New England" breweries, there's also a beer hall/restaurant where you can sit and eat. So feel free to take you're comprehensive tour, buy your abundant merch, and then sit and eat a meal. Strongly recommended, do go there. read more

It's tough to review this place because the restaurant and brewery are kind of separate things, but I am giving it for 4 stars based on the beers & beer selection. Unfortunately I haven't been able to catch the tour yet but we do love our Harpoon beers and they have every kind on tap, plus exclusive stuff you likely can't get back home. But at least you can get a growler of the rare stuff to bring home! The seasonal, small batch stuff is always fun to try. I don't think they do flights of beer, but they are pretty cool about giving samples even if you're not on the tour. The food is bar food but better. Nothing amazing, but a lot of solidly good sandwiches and wraps. The first time I went, we sat at the bar for hours and shared life stories with the bartender, who also told us lots of info about the beers & beer process. The next time, we also sat at the bar but the bartender didn't say two words to us or anyone else even though the bar seats were less than half full. We would have ordered more food and drinks, but he never came back to check on us after a runner delivered our food. I get that not everyone has to kiss your ass, but a little friendliness affects how your visit goes you know? I think the Boston location has a more fun vibe but you still have to make a visit to this mother ship. read more

No joke, my friend & I spent literally 5 HOURS here! We didn't do a tour or anything, we just wanted to hang out in the "Beer Garden" with a beer & chat. There are plenty of picnic tables & outdoor seating to just "hang out." There are also corn hole games & other outdoor activities to do which is fun. There's an order window for a list of beer on draft for those who are not looking to go inside & dine along with a small list of food that can be ordered. I ended up trying 3 of the beers on the list & all were great! I love the Wannamango! After having spent a good portion of time there, my friend & I ended up decided to have dinner while we were there. We sat outside on the patio; I ordered the "Rachel" sandwich & he had the bacon cheeseburger. At the time they had run out of onion rings, one of the beers my friend wanted to try & another menu item (no big deal). The food was good, no complaints. Ok time at Harpoon. We sat down, ordered a flight of beers, had slow service, and the next time our waitress came she said we might not be able to order food because tables are reserved for 90 minutes at a time. We had no warning by hosts or waitress. She did end up getting us food. When my steak & cheese sandwich came, I was disappointed to see Kraft cheese on it. If you like Harpoon, this taproom might be a better experience than the Boston location. Although constantly busy, you never seem to have to wait for a seat and they regularly have live music. They also have a full food menu in addition to pretzels and the beer is considerably cheaper than in Boston. The food menu is pretty standard brewpub fare, but its nicely done. The burgers are big and tasty with no gimmicky toppings. They do seem to cook the burgers more than the requested doneness so maybe ask for a level down from your usual order. read more

Found this on the Vermont Brewery tour map and really enjoyed the experience. We did a self guided tour - guided tours are available on the weekend & stayed for lunch in their brewery pub. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the craft beers served & you can have a few tastes brought over if you to sample before ordering. They had a great selection of UFO beer & we learned a lot about how IBU impacts our choices & what we like. Weather permitting they have a lovely patio that looked great - it was cold we ate inside. Food is stepped up pub fare with unique offerings. They have a gift shop with apparel, accessories & bottled beer to sell individually, in 6 packs, 12 packs or cases. And to eat we shared orders of the vegetable and hummus platter, two soft pretzels, and the poutine. Everything was tasty, and the soft pretzel was out of this world! Harpoon Brewery has made me fall in love with the brand. Just take a tour and you can see why (assuming you are 21 and older, and has a bit of interest in beer). The brewery tour is $5 p/p, includes a tasting glass and free samples of all their available beer at the end. The tour staff were very knowledgeable and entertaining. They let us sample the pre and post carbonation beer to demonstrate how the fizz can change flavors and aroma. The sampling at the end was very generous, there were so many to try (specially the ones that I have not seen in regular NYC market). Their honey cider is absolutely delicious! Not too sweet, just fragrant and crisp. This is my perfect adult apple juice. The brewery also have a retail shop (their beer and brand merchandise) plus a beer hall with wood paneling that looks very inviting. The younger bartenders manning the beer hall seems less knowledgeable than the tour staff but I don't really think it matters too much. The service is still very good and they would seek out someone who can answer your question. If you are nearby or in Windsor then this place is a must. read more

Another one of my favorite New England breweries. The beer is solid, all around. Here at the source you can try many rarer tappings. The food is pub fare and A-OK, but aren't you here to have a beer. Staff has always been chill, and we have been here several times over the years. The location is cool, because there is also a rafting center, and a sculpture garden, adjacent. The only other brewery I've been to is the Sam Adams brewery in Boston, and where the two differ is that this brewery is A) actually brewing beer for distribution, unlike Sam's which is more like a beer lab and B) Harpoon doesn't make any effort to limit the amount of beer sampled while on the tour. The restaurant is also great, offering some beautiful outdoor picnic table seating and some tasty better than bar food bar food. read more

The staff are really congenial. The tour was excellent, and Octoberfest was fun. We've done the tour twice now - a year ago with the in-laws, and most recently with my parents and in-laws. They even allowed us to arrange a private tour for that with only 2 hours of advance notice. They are VERY generous with their samples - and all the beer is good. Be sure to eat there after the tour, you'll need it. ;) The food is amazing too, although I have yet to be 100% sober when eating it. I love getting the glass with the tour, although I'm not a fan of the new glass shape. One warning though, when offered the chance to taste the grains used to make the beer - DON'T. I'm pretty sure I got "food poisoning" from it. Basically, someone must have reached in there at some point with less than clean hands. It was so bad I made a 3AM trip to the ER in an ambulance. I got the worst of it, my husband and Dad got it mildly, the others were lucky and didn't get it all. The grains were the only thing we varied on for consumption. read more

Harpoon was FANTASTIC. I'm not even that big of a drinker, but I found nothing to criticize here. As soon as my brother and I were immediately greeted and seated. Before we even ordered, he poured us both a sample of their newest offering, a shandy called Camp Wannamango. It was a light summer ale with subtle hints of tropical mango. He immediately ordered a pint of that, while I ordered the Partly Cloudy flight for the two of us to sample and share. Having traveled earlier that day, we also ordered lunch. My brother ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese, which he swears by, while I settled for the meatloaf burger. Both arrived in a timely manner, and both were uncommonly delicious. I would definitely order either one again. A huge tasting room/dining room, a beautiful outdoor patio, and a rather large assortment of merchandise and beverages for purchase. Missed the tour, so I have nothing to say about that. Food was incredible, I wish I had gotten more then just french fries but oh my goodness the fries were incredible. I love me some crispy fries. The chicken tenders looked good too but I didn't try it. The beers are exactly what you expect from Harpoon, its good, perfect for summer, cold, fresh, crisp, light. I tried the sampler and I really wish that they would let you pick your own. They give you a selection of five beers that they preselect and they are beers you've probably already tried, they should really use the flight as an opportunity to try beers you may not have selected before. I had been looking forward to trying some new beers. The seating is great, theres lots of outdoor patio space (again great for summer). When we went there was a band playing at the place next door so it was like a free show. Worth a stop by. read more

Holy moley, Harpoon you know what a brewery needs and that is a great pub. I will be honest, one of the best burgers I have ever tasted was at Harpoon. Grass-fed beef people, you can't go wrong. I literally didn't need anything put on that burger, just a bun. Another go to is the poutine, with Vermont cheese curds. Now how can I review without talking about the brews. Go with the flight of beer, best bang for your buck and ability to try a wide variety. The service is excellent and the pub has a nice open feel, including an outdoor fire pit.
