Elixir is one amazing place in White River Junction We started by ordering two Caipirinhas, this being one of the very few places that serves Cachaça and its repertoire of cocktails. Then we went to devour the delicious Artichoke dip and lastly, their main courses, both of us had their evening sea bass special that kept us licking our fingers afterwards. Washed it down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Service was flawless.... We were able to leave with plenty of time to make the play and even do a little digestif walk. A superb place for dinner.

The steak came covered with an au poivre sauce, cooked perfectly medium, and so juicy. This was complemented by roasted carrots, and potabello mushroom, onion, and potato hash. It has a very substantial-by-way-of-sturdy crust: I want to say there is a dusting of corn meal beneath the bottom of the pizza, though not sure. Maybe that is why they name one of their featured pizza's, "Dust Pan." Poor Thom's pizza leftovers have been my sustenance, at times. My favorite pizza here is the Sugar Shack with Granny Smith apples, caramelized onions, smoked bacon and a maple syrup drizzle. This one is a real treat which I wish I could have all of the time. Seriously. I also love the Shepherd's Pie, here, which I don't see on the current online menu. They might prepare it for you, anyway, if they have the ingredients that evening. We stopped there after reading their advertisements and we weren't disappointed. Best location for a brewpub ever. Ever. The brewpub occupies the rear of the gargantuan footprint of the old Anchorage. The best part actually, as it has the outside boardwalks with tables and the beautiful scenic view of Lake Sunapee. It was well attended by the boat crowd and boats were tying up as close as they could. Superb ambiance although limited food offerings. Still, Hoptimystic is tops on the beer scene.
