Stopped into the taproom this weekend and enjoyed the UFO Strawberry Lemonade shandy with some Buffalo wings. Beth was an excellent bartender! Actually you probably will not find better than Beth! The atmosphere was friendly with outdoor and indoor seating. They even had music on Saturday outdoors. Purchased a great soft sweatshirt at the gift shop too! You can even visit other stores next door! A must visit! read more

Preface: we didn't drink, and I know they're known for their brewery Overall... The sweet potato fries were good. But the nachos actually were just a pile of sour cream and salsa. The Wagyu burger I would give a three out of five. The loaded, baked potato, not sure how you can mess that up. It was normal. The Philly cheesesteak was also not good. I was so excited to visit this place, especially seeing all of the beers they have on tap. We were seated by the wood stove which was nice and cozy. They have their regular menu and then some weekly items and then, the beer menu- front and back of glorious holy water options. There are some chalk boards around the restaurant with flight options, but you can also make your own. We made our own- twice and still didn't try all of the beers. I could've stayed there all day but I am unsure if they have Uber haha. For a meal I had the power salad which was kale, quinoa, black beans, bell peppers and a vinaigrette dressing. It was a very large portion, but pretty bland- needed some other sort of seasoning to it. My husband and aunt had their weekly special of the salmon burger. Very flavorful and the fries were my favorite kind- double fried so they are extra crispy. Service started to slow down towards the end, but it was packed and there was a wait (it was MLK day). Took a bit of time to get water refills and the check, but it was understandable. Make sure you walk into the bottling area- very cool to see that huge of a production going on and the wonderful malty smell. They do tours on Fri-Sun "every hour, on the hour". Wish they did it on holidays as well. Oh, well. There is also a store where you can buy just about anything you can think of from a puffy jacket to a dog leash and quilted blanket. Very neat place! The service was excellent and the food and beer was even better. All the restaurants I've been to here have a tendency to bread their buffalo wing but they are still delicious My main course was the mixed Charcuterie tray. It came with three meats capacola, salami, and prosciutto and 4 cheeses that are locally made. The Swiss knock off was my favorite, and I am not a Swiss fan. There was a brea, Gouda, and local blue cheese that was heaven on a cracker. I love a place that does beer flights. I got to taste 8 of the beers and choose my favorites. The house golden is my favorite but the cider was good as well as the UFO white. Not a huge fan of beers with a high IBU rating too bitter a finish for my taste. That being said the harpoon dark has a good start but finished too bitter I would definitely return and try some of their other food and beer selections. All the dishes I saw served as I ate looked very appetizing and the waitresses and staff were very attentive. A solid VT brewery. They have all sorts of events, including trivia Wednesdays and a popular Octoberfest. Beer selection is big, it being a brewery. Solid variety of beers including seasonal beers or ones only served on site. They even had growler cans for beer to-go. Food is decent. There's nothing that special but I had a hot chicken sandwich here that knocked my socks off. Definitely pairs well with the beers. All in all, great VT brewery. Less pretentious than other breweries I've visited, solid atmosphere, good staff, and like 5 minutes from the highway. read more

We absolutely loved our dining experience at Harpoon Brewery! First of all the location is amazing. We have a toddler (and baby), and the playground, cornhole, frisbee and just general space to run around while we waited for food was beyond perfect. The staff was also so friendly and accommodating! As a family with young kids I know our needs can be a little extra work and our waitress and other staff was phenomenal. Plus the food was delicious!! Had lunch here with some coworkers today. Overall experience was excellent. We sat outside under the shade of some pretty tarps. Cool breeze and warm VT summer day! Waiter was very kind, knowledgeable, patient with us, and fun. I had the Jonas wings and the falafel burger. The wings were great- really good flavor. I absolutely love Harpoon and thought they only had a brewery in Boston. I was so happy to find this gem on the way to visit a friend. Place was packed but the noise level was way below average which made for a relaxing experience. I tried the Nana's Nightcap which was a seasonal porter with hints of nutmeg. Delicious! A good stop over for a day out shopping for Simon Pearce Factory Outlet finds and grabbing a drink and a bite to eat. Eamon, our bartender, helped with drink selections by providing tastes until we settled on our pints. It was busy for lunch time on a SuperBowl Sunday but not a place to watch the game as it closes at 6pm. The food is staple bar food and the vegetarian meal was sold out . It is a good family atmosphere and has friendly staff to greet and help you. There is a wood fire pit outdoors for those adventurous types in February. The setting and ambience are great, food is good too but the service was beyond bad. After being seated for about 10 minutes and the waitress (Theresa) serving the tables around us, she finally acknowledged us but claimed she didn't see us seated in her section! I have trouble believing that because I made eye contact with her behind the bar and she immediately gathered the silverware and plates for the two of us but stopped at her 4 other tables to checkin on them first. To add insult to injury, she took but forgot to place our orders. While I was in the bathroom she came by and informed my 10 yr old son that she had got distracted and wanted to verify if she remembered what we wanted. She then appeared at the table with a soft drink we didn't order. For the food, my son got his cheese burger minus the cheese, overcooked not medium as ordered. To the waitresses credit she realized there was no cheese as she placed the plate down and then brought out a slice of cheese on a plate. I didn't receive my appetizer of clam chowder until the end of the meal. No apologies, nothing offered to be removed from the check. I understand we all have bad days but how this was handled, is a shame. read more

Such a sweet spot. We stopped here after driving in from Boston, on a Sunday - we had made it with about an hour to spare before closing time. It was a doggy event in the beer garden! Lots of cute pups and happy people! Inside, the restaurant/bar is roomy and cozy. Everyone here seemed like regulars. We got to meet Jen and had sampled a few brews. I settled on the UFO White Ale and the hubby had a coffee beer. We got to enjoy these while looking forward to a crisp cool night in VT. When we finally sat down I was shocked that their beer flights and beer were so cheap! $6.75 for a UFO beer flight of 4-6oz pours? HELL YEAHS! I'm in! This place was insane. So much going on inside and out. A huge selection of beers to choose from. The bar is the length of the place. So much on tap. The selection of beers we chose for our flight was perfect. We had this Irish Stout that wasn't very heavy or bitter like most. It was outstanding. Great food selection as well with lots of choices. We had the big pretzel with a side of cheese and hot beer mustard dipping sauce. We did pick up a 6 pack for later. It was a UFO blueberry sour, yum. Great spot. It was raining so we didn't sit outside but we sat at the table overlooking outside and had incredible food and beers. Abigail was extremely patient and helpful. We had fish and chips and falafel burger. Both were great; the fish and chips were best. We split a flight and then also got one more full beer to share. It was plenty. Our favorite beer was the New England IPA, but the pumpkin was not too sweet and way better than what I was expecting. Still glad to have it in the flight and not a whole one. Great job! I feel like management sat down at their last meeting and asked "Exactly how much can we take advantage of the tourists?" The location, decor and atmosphere of this place are awesome. Upon being seated and admiring the vibe, I exclaimed "I hope the food is as awesome as the atmosphere." Alas, it was not...or at least, it did not match the prices they were charging. We did a tasting flight, which was reasonable and tasty. My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich with no cheese (allergy), and I got the nachos. The sandwich was tasty, but small-nowhere near what you would expect for being charged $16 for a sandwich (sandwich was $14, there was a $2 up-charge for fries). It came with cheese on it, which we didn't realize till he'd eaten half of it-and now he's paying for it. The nachos had no flavor, and were underwhelming. They were covered in cheese and salsa with a small dollop of sour cream (got the jalapenos on the side). The salsa was so mild it tasted like marinara sauce. Mediocre bar nachos at best. I'm looking at the pictures other people have posted of their nachos and my nachos looked NOTHING like theirs. No chives, no olives, and WAY too much salsa. Our waiter tolerated us. A walk through the gift shop revealed more overpriced merchandise, but what tickled me was the deck of playing cards they were selling for $8. Do yourself a favor and just get a beer. If there is room at the fire pit outside, do it. read more

I had super low expectations for Harpoon Brewery, especially since we had visited the Boston location only a month before visiting the Vermont location. Not that the Boston location was bad, just that I wasn't expecting to find a lot of new beers to try and wasn't expecting much from their menu (serving food being a big difference from the Boston location, which only serves pretzels). Although this location was supposed to have fixed flights (my nemesis!), our waitress let me choose a flight - and there was just enough new in the intervening month that I was able to try a flight's worth of new beers. Hooray! We split a pretzel because Harpoon makes wonderful pretzels in both locations and then shared an "adult" grilled cheese sandwich, which they very kindly split and plated separately for us. It's always such a nice little extra thing when restaurants do this. Dinner was cooked perfectly and we both enjoyed our meals very much. Our waitress was excellent. On the way out, we found a gorgeous fire pit going and far be it from us to miss out on a fire we don't have to take care of or put out. So, for the restaurant/brewpub I had such low expectations for - it now holds a special place in my heart because we wound up getting engaged sitting around the fire! I'd definitely return, but next time wouldn't worry about it being as packed as Boston and would nip into the cheese store that shares a parking lot before dinner. read more

Beautiful Location, Tasty beers, happening restaurant with amazing food and if you like cheese tastings then there's a store right across the garden for that as well. The tour was informative and staff was super friendly. All the beers were above average but I definitely loved their UFO and pumpkin Ale. We sat on the tables outside and while waiting for the food we played board games which were free! The food was okay but then we took our beers and sat around the fire place pit and had fresh pizza from the little open fireplace pizza shop right next to the cheese store. Had an amazing time here. Definitely quite an experience. We did the brewery tour which lasted about 30 mins and costed 5 dollars per person. Huge selection of beers from harpoon and massive tanks with hops water and yeast! Very cool. Staffs are very friendly and fill up our beer glasses with freshly brewed beer. We also had yummy truffle fries there and beer flights. I personally like hefeweizen the most because I like light beer. my fiancé loved the winter warmer the most because it has some spice tastes in it. Very cool place in Vermont must visit!!! read more

Went here as part of the BBQ Festival weekend. It was my second time to this location. 2 Beautiful sunny days of live music, tons of BBQ vendors, and of course, great beer. On the grounds, there is also a local cheese shop and a jams/preserves shop, both are worth stopping in. The tasting room feels very homey with wooden chairs and a huge chalkboard behind the bar listing out what they have on tap, divided into flavor profiles. The staff is mostly younger (25-40 yrs old) and have a passion for what they do. They are very knowledgeable about their brews and the process, how they drink and how they pair. It was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back for their mac and cheese challenge. read more

Solid place to stop at while passing through NH / Vermont on interstate 91. The tour itself costs $5 per person, for those ages over 21, and runs about 45 minutes, with 15 minutes for tasting at the end. You'll hear the history of Harpoon Brewery and it's humble Boston beginnings, to the acquisition of the former Catamount Brewery facility in Windsor, Vermont. You'll learn about beer ingredients, the beer making process and visit the cold storage room (refreshing on a hot summer day). You get a Harpoon tasting glass (which you keep at the end of the tour), and about 15 minutes to try as many beers as they have on tap in their tasting room (probably about 10-15 beers on tap). Be sure to try the beers only available at the brewery! We arrived at 12:45pm, 15 minutes before the 1pm tour. We had our 3 kids with us and we had originally only planned to stop for lunch. The hostess mentioned she'd reserve us an outdoor table for when the 2pm tour wrapped up (very nice touch). While on the tour, the kids enjoyed wearing the safety goggles and the root beer tasting offered to them (again, very nice touch at no charge and the kids got to keep their glasses). Lunch was standard bar food -- the only true stand out was the Vermonter Sandwich, which was excellent (turkey, green apple slices, red onion slices, bacon, Vermont cheddar and spicy mustard on a grilled panini). The Vermont burgers were OK, but not great but was happy to hear they use local farm raised Vermont beef. Restaurant service was OK. Gift shop has $20 T-shirts and $75 biking jerseys, both which I thought were overpriced but I got the T-shirt anyhow for my collection of beer-wear shirts. Would have liked the biking jersey but cannot bring myself to pay $75 for a biking jersey, no matter how cool. read more

This is a place we drive to and visit at least once a year. They always have good beers and ciders on tap (especially this time of year - thank you pumpkins for fall!!). Plus, they have a reliable food menu that isn't too overwhelming but always has something we crave. If you get the burger, you really should also get the bacon - it's delicious. There are gluten-free options if you need it (so you won't feel left out), and if you're looking for a good starter for a group, get the nachos - they don't disappoint! A solid, reliable brewery in this area, and there are a couple shops in walking distance to give you a few others things to do if you stop on a nice weather day. Outdoor beer garden for drinks and lunch--incredible!! Honestly, came with tempered expectations for the food due to limited menus and for it being primarily a brewery, but I was blown away (and I usually have strong food opinions). Their pretzel was just incredibly soft and delicious with delicious stone ground mustard. I got the Vermonter on rye with no bacon (they were great about substitutions) and the bread was perfectly toasted and delicious. The smoked turkey was far from cheap cold cut turkey, and was so flavorful (but not too salty, which is usually my issue). Of course can't go wrong with Cabot cheese in Vermont and it was the right amount. The fries ended up being waffle fries, which was a delightful surprise! All accompanied by excellent service and even better draft beer (so fresh). It started our time in VT off perfectly, I can't recommend enough! read more

Love this place. Used to come here a lot when I lived in Western Mass even though its a good 2 hour drive but still come here from time to time. Its especially even more amazing in the Fall and the Winter. They usually have a fire going outside in the pit if its not snowing Love their selection of beers inside, and def must go on one of their tours of the brewery. They also have board games and a doggie bed for pets. Their food is decent, loved their wings especially the sweet chili flavor. I've also had their burger and vermonter before which were decent. Overall great experience for any beer lover and also otherwise. One thing that could be improved is maybe their food menu a bit, otherwise everything else is great. read more

Have been to the Boston Harpoon and think it is better but also went here during the pandemic so could be different when there isn't. We got sit down on a very sunny table after we made reservation at 3 and we asked to move to another table as every table was either under the tent or had a umbrella and there was plenty open tables. The beer was delicious. I had a Maine blueberry and the Pumpkin beer and it was delicious. We had the nachos with pulled pork, the pretzel, and bratwurst. The nachos was good but there was barely any chips just all the junk but the junk was good. The pretzel was okay, not even comparable to the pretzels in Boston. The bratwurst was very good, would get that again. Overall it was good but not worth the drive if you aren't local. read more
