We went here for dinner last night as we had been boating so we stopped for a bite. I ordered a cheeseburger with cheddar, bacon, and remoulade on the side. I am served a plain burger with nothing on it. I politely share to the bus boy bringing our food (not our waiter) that it's wrong. He doesn't seem too concerned (doesn't apologize) but they bring me another burger right away but this time it has cheese, bacon, AND grilled onions on it. I cannot stand grilled onions. The bus boy leaves so quickly we can't even point out it's wrong again. My husband finds the waiter who does apologize but throws the kitchen under the bus and wants to show me on the computer that he did indeed ring it in right (I mean at this point I don't care who screwed up - I just want my food right. And I really didn't appreciate that all the waiter cared about was that it wasn't his fault but didn't seem to care if my food was right). I just scraped the onions off because I didn't want eat spit for sending it back a second time. I will say the burger did have great flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their food. My sweet potato fries were literally from the bottom of the bag because they were all tiny broken pieces and that didn't have good flavor. Honestly, for the price and the fact we were on Geneva Lake, I would've expected much better service. I honestly wouldn't go back. I couldn't believe that after two screw ups they didn't even offer to comp the food. Our waiter was polite but not really apologetic and that was super irritating to us all. read more

Awesome pizza! Thin cracker like crust. The sausage used has the perfect fennel seasoning. Great relaxing atmosphere with a small-town vibe.

Bad experience tonight! The Hawaiian pizza and the Blackened Chicken Alfredo were so spicy that eating became a challenge, rather than a pleasure. We left the food on our plates after a few bites and asked for the check. After we paid, I reminded our young and apparently inexperienced waiter that it is customary for a restaurant to warn its clients on the level of spiciness of a dish and our was beyond bearable. His poor, and a bit arrogant if I might say so, answer was that the ingredients are listed on the menu, so we should have known. What does this means? Salt is an ingredient, but too much makes the food painful, not enjoyable. And so does the pepper and Thai BBQ! read more

Amazing food and service! Get the Willie Salad with Ahi Tuna. Pizza is amazing- and truly can't go wrong with anything on menu

Wanted to stop and have a beer and watch the Euro Cup final. We called ahead to see if they had the game. We got there and they did not have the beer I can drink so I ordered water. I asked for Heineken Light and the bartender replied, "We don't even have Heineken." We asked the bartender to turn on the soccer game. After 20 minutes of waiting for her to turn the station we asked again. She said, "I need to wait on customers first." Under my breath I replied, "Well, we have waited." We had already waited a good 20 minutes and it had been 40 minutes since I called. Then she came to change the channel. Finally when she came over to change the channel she asked the other people if she could change the channel. She was rude once again. We were not happy at the point and irritated we were missing the game. A man next to us told us not to be rude to her. Well, we told him to mind his own business. He was giving us a lecture and the person that was with me said F you. Then she kicked us out and made her oh for her beer and she had not drank but only 2 sips I will never go back there again. Manager was nice but bartender was rude. Go to Fontana to Chuck's or Gordy's. Much better service. Never had a problem like this ever. read more

We visited Harpoon Willies today. We actually still here. I had the portabella and swiss burger. The burger was cooked perfectly, but the mushrooms were a little soft like they were canned. My boyfriend had the brisket sandwich. It was dry. It even looked dry. I would never put meat that looked like that on someone's plate. And the bun was wet. Their clam strips were awesome. Chose this place because it had good reviews--it did not disappoint! I had the blackened tuna salad and it was fabulous... Waitress, Corrie, was very personable... We had a bit of a wait for our food but she kept us informed and we were with good friends, so we didn't mind the wait! read more

I just tried the wings when I was in Williams Bay for the weekend and they were really good. They were perfectly cooked and very crispy even under the sauce, and I took this to go so very impressed on how crispy it was. They are hot wings at this place, but I didn't get a ton of spice from the sauce. It was more sweet than spicy, but that was the only thing, but otherwise these are very good to give a try. read more

What a waste of time and money! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was not good in the slightest. The tuna sandwich was average and the pizza wasn't good. However, the salmon was great. The popcorn was more than likely the highlight of the evening. The service was above average however. Would not recommend. read more

Best Burger I've had in a long time. Juicy & served on a tender light bun. House chips are also very good, crunchy, but not too hard. We ate at the bar & and the service was great. Will make this a stop again soon. read more

The first time I visited here I got a burger which was very good 8/10. Me and my family went out to eat and I got the pulled pork sandwich and my grandma got the chicken tenders. My mother had the fish sandwich. The pork was smoked but was not cooked all the way because it made me get sick "puke' when I got home. I have no food allergies or anything this is the first time I threw up from eating in a very long time 10-15 years in the making. My grandma also got sick and we will never be coming back. Not to mention the fries were gross and they seemed to purposely give me the smallest portion of fries possible. Overall do not eat here.. unless you want to get sick, The 2 star rating is very generous in my opinion. read more

Visited for the first time with our family. Our waiter Ben was wonderful, friendly, and attentive. Great service!! I had the brisket platter, it was delicious. I spent summers, weekends and holidays in Williams Bay for more than 20 years, and after several years away, I ventured back to my favorite summer locale. Writing this review, I am still in shock that I did not once set foot in Harpoon Willies once during those many summers in WB. Not only is it a short(ish) walk back to my family's house, but it is my favorite kind of dive(y) (dive-ish?) bar: football playing in the background, a mixed crowd of locals and visitors, old school beer signs, and of course, a large boat hanging from the ceiling. They have your typical pub menu -- burgers, pizzas, and the like, with a few veggie options. Would highly recommend this pub to grab a beer with friends and family. read more

this is a bar with fair to mediocre bar food.....burgers with corresponding chicken equivalents....filled with flatlanders in the summer coming over from the beach.... don't go expecting a rare find....just somewhere to fill your tummy...would recommend Skippers down the street as a better local alternative...or go to the Public House across the street and stick to the lower end of the menu.... read more

Solid pub grub. Went "into town" for a bite to eat and this looked good based on the large screened in porch. Seated promptly in the bar area, service was quick and friendly, food was decent. I ordered the Geneva St. Burger with waffle fries. Burger was messy once the sauce was added, and the bun could not withstand the burger. Sauce was a chipotle type dressing which in my opinion did little to enhance the sandwich. Waffle fries were tasty. Portions were appropriate. Decent. I'd go back. read more

Went here last night (just like almost every Wednesday in the summer) with a group of 6. My friends had already seated themselves at a large table on the screened in patio, and our usual waiter, Francisco, asked what I wanted to drink when I passed by him in the bar. Two of the girls ordered the salads with grilled salmon, another ordered the Willie salad with grilled chicken, and I ordered the mini Toscana salad which has blackened chicken. My lettuce was a little wilted but the salad still tasted absolutely delicious. The two guys had a Willie salad and chicken tenders. The Willie salad has raisins and walnuts, and they make a homemade honey dijon dressing that's my favorite. The food prices are very reasonable but my favorite wine by the glass, their pinot noir, is a bit pricey at $9. We enjoy the bar atmosphere but don't eat greasy bar food so Harpoons, as we call it, works for us. read more

Just visited Harpoon Willies yesterday. We are not from the area and obviously want to have good meals that aren't extremely pricey. The place was pricey for the amount of food which they provide. Considering the amount I paid for the baked rigatoni bolgnese I only received approximately 15 rigatoni noodles (in their defense the noodles were on the bigger side) but still not a lot of food. It did not have a lot of flavor and the meat in the dish was slim to none. I also ordered the sangria which was apparently on special, our waiter said that he is a "sangria snob" and that it tasted very good to him. I am pretty sure it was straight from a bottle and if you going to charge $8+ for a sangria it shouldn't be from those cheap bottles of pre-made sangria. I was not a fan of the flavor and wouldn't suggest to order this to anyone. Our server was very nice and I'm sure we just have different tastes, no fault on his part. As for my poor boyfriend he ordered the chicken panini. He seemed to enjoy it and finished the entire thing. We went back to our hotel and went to sleep an hour or so later. Approximately 2 hours after that he is throwing up uncontrollably for 45 minutes. I don't know if the chicken was not cooked right or if something else on the plate had something wrong with it but this has never happened to him before. He didn't get something that he never eats or something extremely spicy or different. I can't say with 100% certainty that it was their fault, but once again highly suspicious. If you're looking for affordable, good quality food I would keep searching. 2 stars because (it won't let me do 2.5) I finished my food, though not much flavor (plus I was starving), bad sangria, pretty good chicken panini with possible food poisoning, decent atmosphere/decorations, pretty scenery from the outside area. Harpoons is my place to go. I've been going here since before I could start drinking and while the menu has changed, unfortunately to my dislike, the food is good. Not exactly bar food but good. Their old menu definitely had more of a dive bar feel: snacks, sandwiches and a good burger. Now it's more snobby food: tomato mozzarella salad, calamari, blackened tuna.. etc. I will say that there is variety. I love the atmosphere and the free popcorn. Biggest gripe is the drink prices. I found the prices to be almost comparable to the Chicago suburbs which is a little outrageous for a small town bar. I hate when they have live bands. The place is too small for something like that. I enjoy going here but not as frequently since my favorite bartender, Roxanne, is gone. Still would recommend. read more

Came here from out of town for some bloodies and appetizers. Bloody Mary's were good, comes with beer back. Nachos were very good but would have preferred more chips which our waiter brought out promptly when requested. Calamari was just ok. Normally I like this place and (I know it's the day after 4th of July) all I wanted to order was a large cheese pizza for pick up and they refused my order. They said they were too busy. I said I was fine with waiting an hour but they still refused. Very frustrating. I have been in the restaurant bar business for 5 years and would never do something like this. If we had a backed up kitchen we would tell people it's a long wait but never refuse orders. Do you not want to make money? read more

Well friends, the lobster claw is gone--or perhaps just out of season. Nonetheless, Harpoons holds up as a fine institution for gathering with friends for a beer. I'm still a fan of the nautical atmosphere and they've recently installed a number of flat screen TVs for our sports watching pleasure--quite convenient during March Madness. The only concern is that food is hit or miss. I ordered a medium rare hamburger and received a well-done, slightly burnt one instead. That said, I've enjoyed their pizza and salads--so you have to know what to go for. I recommend stopping in to try it out. read more

Lunch at Harpoon Willies on the porch overlooking the lake is about as quintessential relaxing afternoon as it gets!! Brisket platter was solid, my wife had gf pizza and loved it, kids had grilled cheese (with bacon!) and fish sandwich. Great waffle fries, cornbread, beans, beer selection and fun super casual atmosphere. Server Eddie was very friendly and did a nice job taking care of us. Harpoon Willies has good burgers and a decent selection of beer. I go there when I want a quick burger and beer. It is relatively inexpensive with the burger costing only about $8. However, they only give you a small bag of chips and the fries are like a dollar or so extra. The patio is nice (smoke free) in the summertime and provides great views of Williams Bay. Unfortunately, the inside is all smoking and has terrible ventilation. Thankfully Wisconsin passed a no-smoking law that will take effect in 2010. read more

We pick up or eat here quite often. Today was most disappointing. Upon arrival there was no one to greet us. We only saw one employee and he said nothing. We decided to find and sit at a table ourselves. After what felt like an eternity and after numerous wait staff passed or just looked at us, someone finally came to take out order. A couple that came in after us was waited on right away. We saw our order sitting at the window when our waiter served the other couple their pizza first. He tried to get someone to bring us our food, but sadly, no takers. We were happy that our Geneva burgers were cooked to perfection or this dinner would have been a bust!
