I suggested this place for another girls brunch and it did not disappoint. At first a couple of the girls were not impressed with the small M-F breakfast menu, but once we ordered and ate our food, we were all fascinated...and full. I decided to give the Oh, My Toast a try which is their twist on avocado toast. This had avocado, feta, radish, PICKLED ONIONS, and an egg however you want it cooked on sourdough toast. It also had some type of seasoning on it that was absolutely amazing!!! My friends went with The Wrap and the Bagel Sandwich, both with fries. Everyone was satisfied and happy! We all topped our meals off with espresso martinis and stranger things cocktails. I love this place and will continue to tell people about it. Even our server was amazing!
This place is seriously one of my favorites! The food is always packed with flavor, and everything I've tried has been amazing. I also love the atmosphere, it has both a café and a bar, making it the perfect spot to celebrate anything or just stop by anytime. The owner is incredibly kind, the staff is always welcoming and hospitable, and the location is great. I can't recommend this place enough!
Came here for a friend's birthday, and loved it! Service was great, waiter offered to keep the cake in the refrigerator for us- brought us plates, spoons, and a knife once we were ready for it. Their food and drinks were delicious! Definitely coming back!
I visited this Indian fusion restaurant for brunch and overall I enjoyed it. The wrap was pretty standard, but still had good flavor. The fries had Indian spices with a small kick of spice that made them super delicious! Regarding some other food options, my friend ordered the pork belly breakfast tacos and unfortunately she wasn't a fan of them. Our server was nice and attentive. However, one of the downsides was that it took a long time for our food to come out. Also, their soda machine was down and they have pretty limited beer choices, so beverages in general were limited that day. They did have champagne with sorbet available. This restaurant seemed like semi-upscale but chill spot. They do have TVs to watch sports, but they did not have the sound on. Overall, I would definitely like to return to this spot to try some of the food they have to offer for lunch and dinner.
Harrington House is one of those Bakersfield spots that really deserves more love. I stopped in for the chicken sandwich and the paneer sandwich, and both were excellent in their own way. The chicken sandwich had a great crispy bite and was packed with flavor, while the paneer sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and just different enough to make it memorable. The veggies in both the sandwiches tasted crisp and fresh, and the bun was nicely toasted. The french fries were super crispy and very seasoned, exactly the ones you keep eating even when you're already full. What also stood out was the atmosphere and the people behind the place. Karen, the owner, is genuinely sweet and welcoming, and you can tell this business is built with care and pride. Supporting local spots like this matters, especially when good food and good service come together the way they do here. If you're thinking about going, today seems like a great time since they don't appear to be very busy. If you can't make it today, a weekday visit would probably be your best bet, since weekends seem to be the busiest. Either way, Harrington House is worth checking out if you want a solid meal from a local Bakersfield business.
I always get a little nervous when I walk into a restaurant and it's a ghost town. But I had been wanting to try Harrington House for some time now, so I took a seat at the bar and was greeted by Karen. She suggested a drink from the happy hour menu, and it was delicious. I wish I remembered the name, but it was a mezcal margarita. I ordered the tri-tip bites as my appetizer and India's Hot chicken sandwich. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The Indian fusion added a unique taste I enjoyed. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient (I was the only customer, so I'd hope so). Not sure if they are always that slow or if it was just the time and day I went, but y'all need to try it!
I have to update my review, for a very special reason. Harrington House, is located on the southwest corner of Stockdale Highway and Buena Vista. I would say it's been open for approximately 3-4 years. It is an Indian fusion restaurant, with a lot of Indian inspired menu items. The wife and I have been on dates here, family outings, as well as dates with other couples. The menu is not vast but it is packed full of flavor and suitable for the average Joe. They have delicious cocktails and one of my favorites is the seltzers. Probably one of the bigger happy hours, especially comparable to the menu size. The update on my review comes after walking into a newish restaurant, with great food, good drinks, and outstanding service, wrapped up in a unique spin on a restaurant, with ZERO customer base, on a Saturday night. It just came to our surprise, how a winning restaurant could be in a slump. In an attempt to bump up business, you of course don't know their backstory, or how long they might have been hurting but u truly feel this place should be doing better than most. Overall, I am only one person, writing a simple review on some delicious drinks and a few appetizers, consisting of great tasting wings and some of the best fries in town. All in all, I believe this is a great restaurant for the greater Bakersfield area and shouldn't be hurting like this. I just couldn't stand by and watch a non chain restaurant fail, especially with a great overall feel and in some prime restaurant real estate. So if you're looking for a place in Bakersfield, for brunch, lunch or dinner, this is a spot you should be trying out. Hope this helps and see you guys at the next spot.
Finnally went to HH after long time browsing through the reviews! This place has such a nice atmosphere and love the way its decorated with brown leather chairs. I was suprised on the indian flavor in my Nics cali cut which was just superb! The fries are insane seasoned amazingly I can eat them all day! The staff all very welcoming and friendly. Only recommendations we have is, we sat on a back booth table none of them had been cleaned off yet from the previous customer, im unsure if the other customers had just left or if the tables arent cleaned until they need to be cleaned but just a tidbit that gives a slightly negative first impresion. All in all: I loved the flavor of the food and will be back!
The drinks were fantastic, I enjoyed the Peach Mojito, and the Tri Tip bites were super tender and very tasty. I was a little disappointed with the wings, over cooked and kind of dry. The fries were crispy, seasoned perfectly, and the kind you can't stop picking at even when you're full. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive without feeling rushed. Overall, a great place to stop by!

Something simple. Surprisingly, the food was very good. The bacon jam on the burger was nice, it didnt overpower the rest of the burger. You could taste the freshness of the burger patty. The Patty melt was definitely good. Better than most ive had in Bakersfield. It came with fries. The seasoning had a kick to it, but in a good way and Im not a fan of spice. But, yea. It gave the fries a pop. Would I recommend this place? Definitely. Very good food and will be back to try the other items on the menu.
Overall, I enjoyed this place. The ambiance was nice and inviting, the staff was friendly and the coffee was delicious. My friend got the PB&J and I tired it and I really wanted to enjoy it, but it was weird having arugula on it. I also wasn't a fan of the curry coconut peanut butter but I did like their house made blueberry jam. It was also expensive at $16 for one slice of bread with the forementioned items. I would come back for the coffee and perhaps try other food items.
This was our first time at Harrington House and the group and I had a great experience. You can eat indoors or out and the place is very comfortable and really cute. It is also clean. I don't know if they take reservations, but I know they are listed on Open Table. The service is great and you will be well cared for. They have a full bar and some nice breakfast offerings, but we went for dinner. The service is warm and friendly. They have great ice tea and coffee as well. We had seared duck, smoked seabass (amazing) as well as a great BBQ chicken salad and a Caesars. Both were great. Their Watermelon Vinaigrette Salad was also refreshing and really fresh. We loved their sandwiches and their fries. We all shared. They have more coffees than I can list. They also serve brunch and we plan on trying it. read more

This was our first time going to Harrington house, it was a pleasant experience, the staff was warm and welcoming. We ordered a few items to try off the menu I'm not the biggest fan of peanut butter but the waffle sampler did surprise me I do wish they offered some more classic brunch items to pair with the more complex ones but over all good experience read more
I visited on a Sunday a little after 10 a.m. and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. It pains me to lower my previous five-star rating to three because this has been one of my favorite places. This visit had a few misses. I was disappointed to learn that decaf wasn't available, as I've found that most coffee shops offer decaf espresso. My companion was also disappointed that they were out of the pork belly for the breakfast tacos - the reason she came. I let my server know I was vegan, but my avocado toast initially came with butter. To their credit, the staff responded immediately, and the kitchen quickly prepared a vegan version, which I appreciated. As more customers arrived, the atmosphere became livelier, and the staff remained attentive throughout our visit. I still enjoy this restaurant and plan to return, but this experience wasn't quite up to the standard I've come to expect. read more

Food was amazing, flavor was incredible and the fries are to die for! Service was amazing as well, super fast, no wait times for a Sunday brunch for two (10:30am). Decor was super cute, and we were in and out in less than 45 mins, too good and definitely will be coming back! read more

I loved how calm and relaxing it was this morning! There was enjoyable music playing at the perfect volume. It was clean and had a great atmosphere! The plants are missing the sunlight, some plant lights might help. the server, Karen was attentive and sweet! The Harrington toast was tasty! It's an elevated pb&j. The coffee was great! read more

Harrington House has been on my list for a while now and I am glad I stopped by! FLAVOR, FLAVOR FLAVOR! We had the: -Bombay Burger 5/5 -Indias Hot Chicken 5/5 -Fries 5/5 All were fantastic, ranch was also amazing. They do have a happy hour that I would love to try as well. Service was great. Place is fresh and trendy. What I loved most is the coffee bar! Such a great concept. read more

Wanted to try something new and a little "fancier" with my girlfriends. I noticed the ambience was nice and different. A little more upscale than the standard bars we typically go to. Now about the food...I thought my breakfast burrito was delicious, but I didn't think the portion was worth the price. For almost $20, I expected to get a heftier burrito and a fuller bag of fries. The burrito was maybe half the size of Chipotle's. The service wasn't bad. Overall, a good place to try at least once, but I did not think it was striking enough for me to want to return anytime soon. read more
Came in for breakfast on Saturday morning with our dog. They were very helpful sat us on the patio at the bar. We ordered the breakfast burrito and made it wet with gravy to split. The food was good. Love the food here so much we dragged a large group here tonight. Our favorites have always been the samosas- oh can inhale that sauce! And the fries with the amazing curry sauce! My friend loved her succotash dish. My main dish - the caper lemon pasta I believe has got to be my favored main dish here. The drinks are creative and wonderful. Great selection of wines. Service has always been great. Very helpful. Live music on the weekends is nice. You also need to check out the wine and charcuterie deal during the week. Amazing place! read more

We stopped here for lunch and a few drinks on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We opted to be seated in the patio, which was nice and cozy. The ambiance is fresh and modern. Good music was playing, which added to the laid-back and chill vibe. Dolly our server was amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable and managed to handle the entire patio by herself with a big smile. For starters we ordered the fried brussels sprouts, hot wings, tri-tip bites and husband had the HH burger. My favorite was the tri-tip bites. The flavor and presentation was reminiscent of the classic pintxos that we've had in San Sebastián, the Basque region of Spain. Everything we ordered was really good, and with generous portions. So much so that we had plenty to take home with us. This place is a winner. We will be back. read more

I have admit upon arrival I had my doubts. The restaurant was empty except for 2 ladies at a table, a moody multi colored hair teen on her phone with her feet on the bar stool and kind of an oddly casual setting. BUT, things soon turned for the better. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. And the restaurant began filling. The menu looked very interesting (in a good way). We were looking to have a lite meal so we ordered the Mindys Mini Samosas and Wings initially. The wings were unavailable so I ordered the HH burger and fries (boy am I glad that the wings were out). The burger and fries were amazing. The burger was juicy, sweet and savory. And the fries were possibly dare I say the best I've had to date. Just the right temperature, lightly crispy (but not dried out) and with a masala seasoning that added the perfect flavor. The Samosas were large, lightly crispy and packed full with a filling including a house herb chutney. I will definitely return to try something new read more

Wow, food was wonderful! My wife had the wrap. Very full wrap, nicely spiced. Left a comforting warm/spice feeling in your mouth. I had the waffle flight, one of the prettiest breakfast dishes I've had in town. The waffles were nice and light. Not over flavored. They let the toppings be the star. All options, savory and sweet were very good. My fave was the Dad bod. I'd take a bowl of that bacon gravy. The staff was friendly, but a little inattentive. Some mixed feelings about this restaurant, but overall some very unique dishes and a very memorable dinner experience, which is why I would recommend checking them out. Service - Awesome hostess! Within minutes of sitting down, my daughter spills a full glass of water on our menus and the table. She comes over and cleans everything up in a minute and gets us new menus and silverware. We continue as though that didn't just happen. Ambience - A lot of patrons are here just to hang out, listen to music, and to get some drinks and apps. Layout was a traditional restaurant, outdoor seating, and a full bar acting as a divider. We were seated close to the musicians and they were really good. They were also really loud since they were trying to project through the restaurant and to the other side of the bar. Food - There's a short story on their website about how they got started. I would describe the food as Indian fusion. Dishes that the whole family liked - Short Rib - well seasoned, perfectly tender piece of beef with farro and sweet carrots Grilled Cheese with Fruit from the kids menu - a large sandwich with fluffy bread and a good amount of cheese. Fruit was ripe and in-season blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Dishes that the parents liked and the kids didn't care for - Brussels Sprouts - this appetizer is massive. You could easily have this as an app to cover 6 people. A lot of fun stuff going on between the sprouts, fried onions, cheese, and balsamic. Only comment here is I wish they used a milder and less tart balsamic. Fried Eggplant - another dish with a mixture of a lot of flavors and textures. Three massive well fried and crispy slices of eggplant with pickled red onions, and a cucumber salad with golden raisins and craisins. Very unique and hits a lot of the senses. Would have liked the eggplant itself to be seasoned a little more. Mango Margarita - the kids didn't try this one! I tried a sip of my wife's drink and thought it was tasty. Very cute plate. Cute and modern ambience and food came out very picturesque. I feel like everything we ordered had Indian flare going and it was delicious. They had unique cocktail menu too. I wasn't able to take many pictures as my friends dug in before I got to it :( The owner was very friendly and attestation. Only reason why I took a star off is because portion was kind of small - especially the cocktails as 2/3 of the cup was ice. read more
I have been to HH a few times and have had a great experience each time. Lunch with some girlfriends: great salads and good wine selections. I also attended a friend's event held on the patio. The appetizers were excellent and it proved to be a great venue for the gathering. You might consider it for a birthday party. Very fun and comfortable to get around. Last weekend, my husband and I got out for dinner and I wanted to share this place. We had excellent service and a very delicious meal. We chose Fried eggplant and a patty melt. The spices were balanced and not the average flavor. The fries are amazing!! Good drinks. This is a great place to go with friends or family. There is a well stocked and comfortable bar. Went here on a Saturday at 11:30am expecting it to be busy with "brunchers". It got busier after 1. But it is a super cute place. You walk in and there is a cute coffee bar on the left side and an alcohol bar on the right. Pick your poison!! We sat down and were immediately greeted by our server. She was friendly and very helpful with helping us select our beverage of choice. We couldn't decide between coffee or alcohol so we went with the Espresso Martini. It was fabulous!! We both had the HH Burger and fries. The burger has a turmeric vinaigrette sauce on it. Sounds weird, but delicious! If you don't believe me, get it on the side and try it first. The fries came in a cute like brown bag on my plate and they were amazing!! I could have ate a lot more of those! Round two...The Mimosa Flight! Yes please! Thank you!! Everything was amazing! I've been wanting to try Harrington's House for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally did! The ambiance is beautiful -- clean, stylish, and very well put together. There was only one server working, Ethan, and even though he was handling everything on his own, he still took care of all our needs at a great pace. He was friendly, efficient, and managed very well with several other customers in the building. My boyfriend ordered the paneer sandwich with fries, which was super tasty. The fries were perfectly seasoned and honestly kind of addicting -- we couldn't stop eating them. I had the Taylermade sandwich with a side salad, and it was just as good -- fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I also ordered an iced latte with brown sugar cinnamon, and it was excellent -- just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely wish I had ordered one to go! Parking was no issue, there is an outdoor patio as well, and it is self seating. We'll absolutely be coming back! read more

New spot in town thats not a Raising Canes or Flame Broiler? Yay! Don't get me wrong those spots are good but i'm glad to see that more than just chains are popping up on this side of town. The service was so friendly and they looked genuinely at ease and happy to be serving you. My friend got the toast which was larger than we expected but she said she LOVED and took the rest home. I had a lavender lemonade lemon drop type of drink which was nice but I was most excited about the patty melt. Round of applause for that patty melt that managed to make a juicy patty but not so much that I was holding onto a soggy sandwich at the end for dear life. This was our first time at the Harrington House. We stopped in for lunch two days ago. The bartender apparently takes all the orders and makes drinks and greets everyone. He was super and what a hustler. He was making sure everyone got taken care of and we liked him a lot. Before we went there we were not aware of what food they serve. I noticed words in the menu which seemed Indian. I asked and he told us they use a lot of Indian spices in the food. The fries would have been great except for the Indian spices which made them so spicy. My burger also had a flavor I did not like. My husbands chicken sandwich was also very spicy. This was our first time to eat Indian inspired food before and we didn't care for the spices. We appreciate the good customer service. Thanks read more

Stopped in to fuel up amidst a little early Christmas shopping adventure and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was so tasty and it was such a beautiful day, we decided to sit out on the adorable patio area. The salad had a nice curry/Indian vibe to it and the meats and cheeses were all so fresh and vibrant. I don't have a single complaint. While we were enjoying our quaint little snack, a wayward wasp the size of a small bird wandered into the patio and right up to our charcute slab. The nice waiter armed himself with a ceramic plate for a shield and a fork for a sword and fended off that wasp like he was in the crusades and we were maidens in peril. But the wasp persisted, dodging and weaving around the épées and parrys of our brave defender, so the waiter had to switch tactics. He grabbed a to-go container and like Sun Tzu, waited until the wasp was distracted and trapped him in the plastic prison. A glorious moment for our waiter, indeed. Lunch and a show. Harrington House definitely knows how to be trendy. There's a really good vibe in the air and I have definitely never had this sort of Indian fusion. It was very bright and clean, and their bar looks very tidy. Their fries are amazing! I couldn't place the seasoning but it was so savory and delicious. The fries were perfectly cooked with a great crunchy exterior, but it wasn't greasy so I felt like they weren't fried in oil! I wonder how they did it! The hot chicken is a new item but unfortunately to me it was quite bland. I love chicken sandwiches and I was eager to find out how they would implement Indian flavors to it. Wasn't as great as I had hoped. The Cali Cut and the breakfast wrap were definitely better choices. They seemed a little shorthanded when I came in for brunch, but service is typically great when I come in for drinks at night. read more
