We ordered the fish and chips with hake, a soda and some beers. The fish and chips came out and you could tell the fish was fresh, it was lightly breaded, not greasy and tasted tremendous. My partner and I stopped in here for lunch during a day trip to Dingle. It was pretty busy but we managed to get the last open table and ordered at the counter immediately. The woman working the counter was friendly and took our orders quickly. I got the chicken goujons with garlic mayo and my partner got the fish and chips with smoked haddock and coleslaw. The chicken was fantastic. It was hot and fresh and the batter was great. The fish was also good, it was very fresh and melted in the mouth. The chips were a little soggy but you could tell they were freshly fried so I think a second round in the fryer would fix that issue. The restaurant was clean and well-decorated. There's paid parking across the street and you can see the restaurant cleanly so it shouldn't be too hard to find if you park there. I would definitely stop in here again if I had the chance. read more

Quick and easy. They nailed fish and chips, and the fish burger was excellent. The star of the show was the calamari - been a lot of places, and this was up there. Lightly breaded and extremely tender - was cutting it with a fork. If I didn't live half way around the world this place would get sick of me. read more

Dingle is a cute town on the Atlantic Ocean that sees a lot of tourists during the day. It can get quite crowded but in the evening the town clears out a bit and finding a spot to eat is a bit easier. We stopped at Harrington's Fish and Chips based upon a recommendation and were very pleased with our experience here. This spot looks rather casual compared to other restaurants in town. Upon entering, there is a bit of seating near the counter where you can review the menu and place your order. There are a multiple large booths in the back room, which was empty when we had arrived. We took a seat there after placing our order. When the food was ready they delivered our food to the table - an order of fish and chips, mussels and seafood chowder. The fish and chips were really good. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp, not greasy and lightly salted. The chips were thick cut, super crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The mushy peas and tartar sauce were fine. This was some of the best fish and chips I had in Ireland. The seafood chowder was hot and had a good balance between the seafood and creamy broth. The brown bread that came with the chowder was some of the best I had on this trip. The generous plate of mussels were plump, juicy and fresh. We had looked at a few other restaurants but were very happy we decided to give Harrington's a try. It may appear to be more casual and relaxed than the other restaurants in the area but it's definitely worth a try. read more

During our 13 days in Ireland, this was definitely one of the best meals we would eat. Our Tour Director very seldom recommended a restaurant when we came into a town. But when we hit Dingle, she did point our Harringtons. When you walk in, it's not very impressive. Very old and basic, you walk up to the counter, order what you want off of the board. Then find a table and wait for someone to bring it to you. My wife had the fish & chips, and I had the fish sandwich. Both were made with Hake fish, which we had never tried before. It was awesome, as were the accompanying chips (fries). I would have to say this is one of the best fish sandwiches I have had in my life. You definitely want to try this place. read more

This place absolutely hit the spot! We had been to two other pubs for a pint, but the food just didn't look that great. I was worried that we weren't going to find a good bite in Dingle, until we came upon Harrington's. It almost has a late-night Waffle House vibe for us Yankees from The States. We ordered another can of beer, plus some fried calamari and a sandwich. The food was delightful, the service was friendly, and and the vibe was chill. Good food, but the milkshake advertised as "delicious" was bad. We had goat-cheese salad and fish and chips with onion rings. All were good. However, the chocolate milkshake was more like chocolate milk. Milkshakes should be cold and thick. This one was cool and runny. It's a quick takeaway lunch choice. We only have 30 minutes before our boat tour to see the Delphi. So this restaurant is a good choice. It locates directly across the street from the tourist office. We ordered Dingle bay prawns & chips, it comes with a delicious pink mayo. Seafood chowder is delicious & fresh with big chuck of fish & couple mussels. Had deep fried Snickers bars and sticky toffee pudding on the menu, but fish n'chips was their specialty. Well, no sticky toffee pudding (the girl at the counter was quite confused when asked about it). False advertising there. My dad ordered the squid n'chips. Great place for your fish n chips adventure in dingle. Their breading is a panko based perhaps vs the heavier breading at other places. You do have the choice of what fish so that is also good as you experiment between cod, plaice, haddock, hake. The vibe was of a mom n pop fish place vs the bar/restaurant feel at other places. Harrington's fish and chips is recommended if you're visiting Dingle. I've tried other posh places and Harrington's beat them no doubt. I don't mind that the place is quite simple, it's basically a chipper but some places deceive by having the looks but don't really deliver in terms of taste. Their price range was affordable knowing the restaurant is on the main street. Their fish tasted fresh and the serving is massive. The service was fast even though they're mostly busy. I would definitely recommend this place anytime. I'm looking forward to another visit to Dingle and having my fix of Harrington's fish and chips. read more

But I saw the waitress tipping it back into a bottle and then putting it in the fridge. One star is about two stars too high of a rating. This dive is across the street from the tourism office at the harbour in Dingle. We saw two or three families and I decided it must be good if local folks took the kids there. Turned out to just be tourist families like us - paying too much for the worst food in Ireland. A local later told me that the only way they stay in business is because the tourists leave the tourism office and just walk across the street. I am warning you - you would do better to skip a meal and throw 50 euro into the harbour than to eat here. Fish was not even warm and too oily to eat. Three onion rings added about $8 to the bill - that's right THREE onion rings. This place was not even on YELP but I went to the trouble of adding it just so you could be warned. A local recommended this to me as a place for fresh fish at a reasonable price. 12E dining in and 10E take out for fish and chips. I had the cod (although they list several other fish varieties, the lady at the counter seemed bemused that I would want anything besides the cod. I am not a fish and chips conosseuir, so I know very little). You order the food at the counter, they give you a number and then very promptly bring out your piping hot food to whatever seat you've chosen. The fish was super fresh tasting. To be honest, I'd probably prefer such good cod prepared in some other way than battered and deep fried (blasphemy, I know). I'm just a clueless American oops. (At least I'm honest). Bottom line- the cod is a great product. If you like it deep fried, I think Harrington's serves a reasonable dish. I thought the chips were below average as far as tasty fries go (again, perhaps my American standards are out of place?) I think they weren't crispy enough and the potatoes were somewhat bland tasting. Nevertheless, this was secondary to me. The cod was the star. read more
