    Monk fish and chips

Delicious fish and chips from some of the friendliest people in Ireland. Lives up to its billing as one of the top places in Ireland for fish and chip. The food - Nice thick chips and light breading on fresh fish. I want to say they fry their food in fat instead of oil because of the extra flavor on the chips. My only regret is getting this as takeaway instead of enjoying it immediately while hot. The food was still excellent but would have even better if it wasn't eaten 30 minutes later. Such a friendly owner. My wife who picked up the food said he offered to bring the food to the car because it was raining and had a lovely conversation with him. Huge portions and quality = amazing value Tip - The chips don't come with any condiments. If you need ketchup, vinegar, or dipping sauce, you need to order separately. You're going to want the garlic mayo. Trust me

Delicious flakey fresh fish perfectly fried. It was not greasy or heavy, light and flavorful, crunchy and paired well with fat chips. The chips were crunchy and salty. It's quite a large portion of fish and it is covered with chips -- could honestly share and still be full! A definite must have (they are take away only but it's fine because you can sit nearby and watch the fishing boats come in!)

Amazing fish and chips! We had the smoked haddock and the hake and I don't know what was better! Not greasy and really crisp with fresh and tender fish. I also recommend the garlic mayo to go with the fat and soft fries. The lady sitting next to me said they were the best fish and chips she had ever had and she was from London. I wholeheartedly agree!

If you want fish & chips in Dingle there is only one place to go and that's Reel Dingle Fish. Although relatively new to the market they have perfected the fish & chips formula to a tee. The fish is all sourced locally, the batter is delicious and the chips are home cut and have that perfect mix of crunchy and mushy. Yum. And for those not into fish, their West Kerry Burgers are amazing too. Should be noted that there is very little seating, just a small bar with a couple of stools so best to takeaway.

Hake fish n chips were delightful! Breaded when we ordered and fried. The house tarter sauce is a must also. Vinegary and fresh, just the way I like it! It was recommended by a local. Best advice! I'll miss this place!

We ended up ordering cod and hake to split between four of us and a picnic table across the street from the restaurant.

Based on a recommendation, we made sure to add Boatyard to our itinerary while visiting Dingle. We grabbed a late lunch, both got fish and chips, and one of us got a cocktail. The fish and chips were tasty, not the best I've ever had. The fish was well fried and flaky sided with your standard chips/fries served with ketchup and house made tartar sauce, which was honestly the best part of the dish! Service was friendly and welcoming from entry to exit. The space is cute with a large main dining room up front with lots of natural lights and large windows looking g at the bay. There is a cozier dining room inside, along with two outdoor spaces once more formal than the other. The front patio looks great, but sadly du to weather and season, it was closed. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at The Boatyard. Definitely recommend it when in Dingle!

They did not have enough staff to accommodate how many tables they had sat. The waiters were not the most friendly as he seemed annoyed when we did not have our drink orders ready 4 minutes after sitting down. Not to mention we had one drink menu and four people. Then for the food. It was terribly small portions for the cost. The quality of our meals was not great, especially for the price. We ordered the Atlantic Seafood Platter with the extra half lobster. The lobster actually never arrived and hadn't even been placed on our bill at the end of the meal. We never asked for it to be brought out since we were over it by the end. At one point a server actually placed our scallops we ordered as an appetizer in front of me, took them, and placed them at a nearby table without a word. Apparently the table next to us had ordered the same appetizer but she ordered it first, so it was taken from us and given to that table. Very unprofessional service. Our scallops came out 8 minutes later. Overall it is a skip. Many other seafood places are nearby. Dingle is just simply not the best place for fine dining, so I would opt for something more casual and cheaper while dining here. Their drinks were good though. Not to mention, this is the only dining spot in all of Ireland to verbally ask for a tip.

I had the Fish Pie: salmon, cod, smoked haddock in white wine cream sauce topped with mash(ed potatoes). It had plentiful fish and was served very hot. I liked the variety of fish. The smokiness from the haddock complemented the simpler flavors of the cod and salmon. Potato topping was slightly browned under the broiler. The fries were good. This also came with another excellent pre-dressed small green salad and good coleslaw: light on the mayonnaise, tangy, and peppery. The wife had the fish and chips and I thought it the best of at least 3 we've had in Ireland. The batter was consistently crunchy, thickness appropriate for the fish, and the portion generous. Again, served with sides of the same green salad and coleslaw, and more mushy peas. I think the wife likes these more than I do. The server was welcoming, the surroundings inviting, and we spent a relaxing 35 minutes or so and, refreshed, continued our walking tour. Sadly didn't get to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding because we had planned on ice cream down the street. Looking at the website just now I see they have rooms upstairs. One described as "Cute Apartment" and the other as "Cosy Flat". Probably worth checking out if you're considering a stay in Dingle.

We tried the Dingle single malt signature - smooth and intense. The fish pie was our consolation prize after the fish and chips were sold out. Delicate, golden topped pastry over a bed of mashed potatoes with creamy fish in what is like a pot pie, was piping hot. It was served with a side salad, cole slaw and chips. Chips were very good. We shared a beetroot salad, which was excellent with yummy garlic bread. Sticky toffee pudding was the finale. It was good, not great. The edges were a little dry and the dough was coarse, not smooth and velvety as I hoped because of others I have had in the past elsewhere. The waitress saved us the last piece since she heard us talk about it. That was extra nice! Good atmosphere and service, good drinks.
