Very professional and they actually do good work, but it seems they are too interested in upselling their services. They modified my gas furnace to switch from a Trane heat pump (the circuit board of which was continually being chewed up by mice) to accommodate a Lennox condenser. It was not inexpensive!!! Terrible experience!!! Scheduled a week in advance and confirmed appt via auto-text schedule and over the phone with a live person at 1pm to check someone was still coming out and was confirmed that yes, I was the next appt. My husband took off from work specifically to be home for the appt and after 2pm I received a call saying "sorry, too busy today and need to reschedule." Barely an apology and no compassion for their neglect of my families time and that we took off work to be home for the appointment --none whatsoever. I will never call them again because the person on the other end of the call that canceled our appt at the last minute couldn't have cared less about the situation they put us in. What a disgrace. Compassion and empathy goes a long way and had they shown any, this situation would have ended much differently. Please do better for your next customer. I joined their Happy Home Club where for a reasonable price they come out twice a year to check your heating and air system. What I found out was that's just a ruse to get into your home, get into your system and gouge you for every penny they can. The final straw was when my water heater went. They quoted me $6K which seemed way high but when your basement is filling with water you are more easily swayed. Subsequent to that, I had other plumbing professionals in for unrelated matters. I paid $616 for a repair to fix a water leak under my toilet, but the issue was not resolved at all. One day later, when I contacted them again to report that the problem was still ongoing, I was told they would now use a "second option" and was quoted an additional $1,539.35 (Total cost: $2155.35). When I requested that the $616 I had already paid--especially since the issue was never fixed--be applied toward the new work, they refused. Instead, they insisted I pay the full amount again and sign the invoice before they would proceed. This raised SERIOUS CONCERNS for me about both their pricing and overall service practices. I called twice to speak to a mgr, due to i took off from work to have this done and i only have one day off a week. The first time no called me back. First of all, I think that this company is definitely overpriced. To begin, they called to let me know that the technician was en route. However, the call showed up as spam on my phone, which, of course, is a red flag not to answer. This call came with a 10-minute time frame to answer and confirm. I missed this 10-minute "allowance", but a few minutes later, another "spam" was being shown on the phone. I went to my messages and discovered that it was a notification that the technician was on the way. I called and explained the spam issue because I needed my water restored. The issue was with the company and not with me. I was not going to reschedule. This is an overpriced company that takes advantage of desperate situations. My bill to replace the pipes in a very small area was over $2,000.00. The saga does not end here. I tried to wash clothes this morning, only to discover that the water supply was somehow not reaching the washer. Now, I have to contact another plumber to fix this problem caused by this company. I can't believe that this is happening, but if nothing comes of this, I hope that everyone who reads this review understands the seriousness and error of hiring this company. Needed a plumber to attach the chain to my toilet flapper. Instead he kept messing around inside the tank. Ended up messing with my flow valve, bend my handle all out of line and didnt accurately fix anything. My water kept running, thus it increased my electric bill by a whopping $200.00. We had no idea of plumbing prices so agreed to the price because we had to have it done immediately, but after talking to a few other plumbers and told them what we paid, they told us it was a complete rip off. My advice to anybody considering Harris : DO NOT USE ThIS COMPANY!!!!!! What could improve is the plumber who did work at my home remembering to turn power off before connecting garbage disposals. I had new cabinets and countertops installed and hired Harris Plumbing to reconnect my sink, dishwasher and garbage disposal after the work was completed. The plumber did not turn the power off which resulted in the wires getting fried destroying my garbage disposal. Then I was told it would cost $700 to replace my garbage disposal which had been working fine. When I discussed with the supervisor many times I was told the plumber denies this happening even though I provided pictures of the fried wires. I was told the plumber said he would have remembered something like this happening . (Incidentally the plumber says it's good he had rubber (or vinyl) gloves on so he didn't get electrocuted. ). The responses I received essentially said I was not telling the truth (essentially I was lying ) and I resent this. Why in the world would I devise such an elaborate story to get a free garbage disposal?!?!?!! I see advertisements on billboards all over South Jersey and I'd like to get the word out that this is not a company you want to deal with. Extremely discontented. I do NOT recommend Harris Plumbing & Heating out of Salem NJ at all. Install of new furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater, $19k, seven months ago. Two failed inspections in January and May and still not fixed! Wasted 5 vacations days waiting for their techs. Appointments made, techs show up either hours late or not at all and don't have the parts to fix the failed inspection items. Quick to take your money, but service department is a nightmare. So unprofessional. Seriously disappointed and I wasted a weeks worth if vacation days from work. Had I known this beforehand, I would have NEVER used this company! They still have to fix the failed items and I have to make another appointment with the inspectors.. another wasted vacation day I have to take off because they didn't fix the issues the first time. I called Harris on a Monday at 2:30 because my kitchen faucet broke and I needed someone to replace it for me. Less than 24-hours later, a technician named Kyle arrived. He replaced the faucet with one I had purchased, and offered to check out any other problems in the house. He was very friendly! I definitely think I paid a premium for this service, and could have gotten a cheaper rate if I compared prices more or went with a smaller business. However, the job got done fast and I don't have any real complaints. I would consider using Harris again in a pinch. read more

I called Tuesday and told them around 2:00 would work. I was told a technician was scheduled for us and would call around 3:30 - 4:00. No phone call. I called at 4:30 got voicemail. Left a message and said I just wanted to know if someone would still be coming out. No return call. I called again at 5:00 was told a different technician would be out but not to worry, he was finishing a job in Lindenwold and he would be calling soon. 7:00 I received a call saying he would not be coming out. My experience was terrible. Service guy came out and diagnosed my ac unit as having a bad fan blower motor. I get like I was dealing with a car salesman. He went out yo his truck to talk to someone like at a car dealer. He can e back with a price of $1800 for a new motor. A new motor is around $250 and it takes about an hour to complete the entire job. I had a local company come out and estimate the job at $550. Harris is obviously ripping people off. DO NOT CALL THEM. They also charged me $69 for the visit which I really want back . They also tried to talk me into replacing my system telling me if I sell the house I will recoup that money since I mentioned possibly moving in the future. I initially called for a 'tune-up' on my oil heater from Harris before the winter season truly began, only to discover that my furnace was badly damaged by a roof leak from somewhere around the stack. The people from Harris were quick to address my needs, and a consultant was at my house promptly. They told me they would run a line to my propane temporarily while we waited for the gas company to install a meter, and then connect everything at a later date. Three days later, they arrive for the installation. Problem 1: wrong heater. They ordered one too big for the space. It was several hours later, but they brought a smaller unit. I still haven't seen a price adjustment though I have called several times (got some song & dance about an ordering mistake). Problem 2: can't use the propane tank I have. Too small (more on this later). So I have to bear with the next few weeks without heat. Got it. Problem 3: One of the pvc stack pipes on the roof was turned upward with no cap to prevent rain from running down inside. I called. No call back. Called two days later. No call back. Then, it rained, and not only is the roof leak still there, there was water filling the tubes inside. I called again. Twice. I finally get a service scheduled to come check, only to have the tech call me that morning to say that it was done right (according to the model) and the water will go out the drain. Leads to... Problem 4: No drain installed! Since they didn't run the propane line and were waiting on the gas company, no one went into the crawlspace to install it. I call again. No call back. Finally, I tell someone that they can come get their furnace if they don't want to call me back. Cue the HVAC manager. He tells me that they wouldn't have done the propane at all, and the consultant should have known that. He schedules another tech for the next day, who confirms there is no drain or rainguard/cap (both which should be there). He says he'll reach out to the manager. No call back about having either of those issues resolved. Still no cap or drain to this day. And finally, Problem 5: Called a roofer to take a look at the flashing and assess the leak. He takes pictures of badly corroded flashing, into which Harris installed their pipes without addressing the issue at all. When I sent the pictures to the manager, his reply: "we don't replace that, my installers should have let you know it was in rough shape." So, Harris Heating...very quick to sell you a $10,000 heater (even if that's not the one they install), but completely dissatisfied in all other areas. This weekend temperatures will dip into the 20's, and I have no heat other than electric space heaters. Zero stars. read more

Technician actually showed up a day early which was fine. We wanted to replace 2 sets of toilet valves; about $80 worth of parts and less than an hours time to install. After sitting in his truck for several minutes he came back and showed me a price is usual more than $500 for each of the 4 valve (over $2000) but if I signed up for the Harris HVAC program ($110) , he could do the job for $1100 + the $110 . I told him that $1200 was outrageously expensive. After back and forth with him and his "manager", the whole job was $500 including the HVAC program.
