We stopped here on the way to a cabin for vacation and it did the job. It's a usual Harris Teeter so they have everything you need but the layout was a little confusing so I had a hard time finding a few items. Checkout took awhile but overall it's fine to get you what you need. read more

The employees are very helpful and nice. Great selection of food. EXCELLENT customer service! Somehow, we did not receive one of our items-not placed back into the shopping cart. The main course, of course. We called the store, which is conveniently located about 15 minutes from our house. The manager on duty was aware, and when we returned the manager wanted to refund us WAY too much money, but we refused, and only allowed him to refund for the forgotten item. Pharmacy needs improvement.  MD ordered common prescription on Monday morning (asthma inhaler) that is normally available most days as same-day pickup.  Got text message it would be available Tuesday morning.  Spouse went to pick up Tuesday morning, pharmacy department says the text should have read PM instead of AM.  Called Tuesday PM regarding pickup, pharmacy department said delivery trucks only deliver meds on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and won't be available Wednesday afternoon.  Never offered an apology. March 2022 Update: I've downgraded them from 2 stars to 1 star. They have now twice failed to inform us that a prescribed medicine for my son, who is a post-transplant patient, was on back order, and he ran out of medication. I was in the Harris Teeter over near Target and bought $15 worth of fresh Key West shrimp on the advice of the guy behind the counter. Thought it odd that he wrapped it in plastic, followed by paper, but having never bought seafood from Harris Teeter, I thought it was just the way they did things. Went straight home and started putting the groceries away, while my husband started unwrapping the shrimp to start dinner. The smell that came out of that bag was gag inducing. The shrimp were not only no good, but likely dangerous. I thought it strange that he double plastic wrapped the shrimp, then wrapped with paper, as Wegmans only wraps seafood in paper. Probably so I couldn't smell that they were bad. That's the last time I'll buy any seafood or meat there. I usually shop at Wegmans but was over at Target, so thought I'd save myself a trip. It is hard to have confidence in the safety of their food when they seem to pay no attention to the garbage in their grocery carts. I went in to the service counter and 4 or 5 staff were having a chat and when I asked to speak to the manager, they all but one took off to look busy. I suspect they need more training and supervision so that they look for things to do, instead of doing nothing. Eat at your own risk. read more

After the huge storm on 06/10/2018, I went to this store to get ice cream. The store clerk told me that the refrigerators were not working due to a power outage as it had been 4 HOURS, so the ice cream products had turned into SOUP already! I am surprised that there are no back up generators for the refrigerator. Imagine all the thawed frozen products just being re-frozen instead of being thrown away! I think this process destroys the integrity of the product and should not be sold by the store! SHAME on you Harris Teeter! Get some back up generators, will you?! And by the way, you don't hire enough cashiers on the front that the check out line is always backed up. read more

The Crozet HT pharmacy is honestly one of the worst I've ever used. It was great when it first opened because the pharmacists were always the same and they got to know their customers. Now, the people that work there are constantly changing. Service is impersonal and often unfriendly, especially when they make a mistake. I have paid for the wrong medication twice, had drugs automatically refilled that I specifically asked not be refilled, & have been given incorrect information several times. I also no longer get texts or calls when meds are ready or if there is a problem. I have spoken to them in person 3 times in the past 10 months and the problem hasn't been corrected. They are unhelpful & unapologetic. My doctor's office has also had problems with them. Sadly, what was once a terrific pharmacy in Crozet is no longer even a decent one. I do not recommend it. read more

When this HT opened about 10 years ago, it was very nice. Something has happened over the past couple of years. The customer service has become rude and uncaring, the store is drastically short-staffed, wait times are atrocious, and the store is no longer super clean like it was. There are both good & not so good things. The prices are often pretty high on meats & produce. But Harris Teeter has alot of great buy one get one free sales that can make up for that. The staff at the meat & seafood counter is very professional. The seafood is always fresh, never fishy smelling. The store is clean. They are not perfect, often out of alot of the artisan breads & you must find someone to slice it. Overall, I think they do a good job. read more

We are quite lucky to have a Harris Teeter here in the small town of Crozet VA. It's a good size for such a small town. I would say their best department is the produce department. They carry just about anything bordering even on the unusual! The associates working there are extremely helpful and friendly. everyone working on the front and where you check out is also efficient and friendly. The annoyances with this store Harr for me mostly with sale items. On Wednesday new ad day... I've been in at noon and they're just beginning to stock the sales... Sale tags are not up... The aisles are blocked especially in dairy and meat. Not isolated to this store... I find very frustrating that Harris Teeter has different prices on different days! What you buy on Wednesday may be on sale For less...Thursday Friday and Saturday! lately not putting the sale tags up seems to be rampant! There are different prices if you have the loyalty card... But who knows what the items are because there are no sale tags. read more

I have been shopping at the Harris Teeter store in Charlottesville for almost six years. Their specials and food selection have always been good. Since the pandemic, the store's shelves are half empty in many areas, consistently. The regular staff had left and been replaced by a hodge podge of people at the register. Harris Teeter is convenient if you are just buying milk or a few items; it is better than making a trip all the way to Charlottesville. Harris Teeter is very, very, very expensive even with the Vic card. The produce isn't the best for the price you are paying. (Strawberries are already moldy and apples are bruised badly). At first, I ignored these issues until I decided to shop for a few things today. There was a sign for Nature's Own wheat bread (buy one get one free with Vic card). As I'm checking out, I notice the discount wasn't applied. I told the checker, who was very sweet, about the promotion but she really didn't try to help. She acted clueless. She mentioned that sometimes you can't always believe the signs. There was already a line of people behind me and I had my kids with me so I couldn't just run back and double check. I asked if there was a manager or someone who could double check and she said,"no." I feel like she didn't even try. The store only has two lines open daily and I feel like they do not deliver service that is worth the outrageous price. Never going back. read more

For a place in the boonies of Crozet, this place offers a good variety! I have been here twice, getting ingredients to make a family dinner and both times found almost everything I needed. It's great they have such a variety, no need to drive into Charlottesville to go to Wholefoods. I think this Harris Teeter is a little more pricey than other grocery stories like it and I assume that's because they are out in no where land with limited competition. I am impressed with the natural, organic, vegetarian and vegan options they have for a regular grocery store and the produce there looks really good as well. If I lived in this area I would certainly shop here more often. read more

I find this Harris Teeter very convenient, well-stocked and full of pleasant staff. I do my bulk of my shopping at Kroger's because the variety is better and the costs are less but I like to use the HT as well. What struck me today was the sushi. We picked up fresh salmon sushi for $8.99 and found that the majority of it was white rice. There was hardly any vegetables and there was hardly a speck of salmon. I feel that that was terrible value for the money and will stick to Kroger for sushi. read more

I shop at HT in Crozet when I cannot get to Charlottesville. I went there on 5/13/2016 to do some shopping. Aside from being more expensive than Charlottesville the customer service was something I have never experienced in any store. I understand that people will have a bad day and it is hard to smile and be friendly. The cashier I had was down right unfriendly. To start she does not ask if you have a VIC card or if you found everything yo needed. These are all the standard spiel that all HT employees are told to do. This cashier can best be described as having "attitude". She did not want to be there or maybe does not want to work at all. It made me feel like I was making her life miserable. If this was my business I would NEVER have this woman interface with customers. She is a real turn off to shop there. She did tell me how much I saved, but that was it. Expensive, leafy produce misted to death (I've complained about this since the store opened), checkers are often slow. I much prefer the much smaller IGA that has a good selection of bulk products as well as organic dairy and nondairy products (great cheeses, especially goat) and the most helpful staff in the world. Certainly the selection isn't as large as Harris Teeter, but every time I go there, I'm in a much better mood than when I leave HT. read more

As the other reviewer said it beats the drive out to Charrlottesville when you just have a few things to pick up. Though this store is pricey pricey pricey. I feel as if I'm shopping at Whole Foods with the prices they charge (but of course lower quality). They do have some items that I wouldn't be able to find at stores like Kroger or Great Valu, which would make me rate it 2.5 stars if I could. But I swear everything is overpriced in the store compared to stores like Kroger. There is nothing that really balances out the price for this store. I rarely buy produce here, but I went to get onions the other day and I had to fight through a cloud of gnats/fruit flies to get to them. Not only were insects having a vacation all over them, but the majority of the onions were just plain gross looking. Ick. My mom has noted similar experiences while going to this store, and even saw flies in the fish department in the Charlottesville store. The fresh-prepackaged food area is pretty good, and you sometimes can find some good deals for your lunch at work. This store is also like Antarctica, I don't know if it's me, but I'm FREEZING every time I go into this store. Can't wait to get my stuff and get out. Wow where do I start? It was Saturday afternoon 11-14-15 at 325 pm I went in to get my weekly sunflower bread and great Tapenade. Well ordered bread didnt pay attention, In past always on point. So as I enjoyed the free samples of whatever. I went to restroom. I found a cell phone. So I went to customer service my daughter stated that women came in bathroom and walked out she looked to be a employee. So we approached her. I stated "I found this in restroom. " the look of shock and whatever she gave chills too my soul. She motioned over shoulder to another employee again saying nothing. to me. So I handed the phone to the women. {she workes for Harris Teeter} I didnt not even get a thank you go to hell or anything just this total look of I don't know .I felt like I was guilty for doing somthing wrong. One little bit of I thought that not all people are nasty after being treated like I grew another head or whatever. I am still upset I was showing my daughter a good deed and her comment was wow" they where mean looking. No thank you even to a teenager they where rude to me. And as for the sunflower bread it was sourdough. batted 100.I spend my fair share at this store. Never again I guess Giant Your gonna get a new customer. read more
