Cannot fix their vaccine appointment system. Showed up today for flu shot and was told their would be a 1.5 hour wait for vaccine appointments. They said their system is scheduling 8 times the amount of actual available slots. I know from friends they've had this issue here for weeks. There is always an issue at this store They seem to forget I have insurance frequently. I get texted prescriptions are ready when they're actually not. Avoid at all costs. read more

I am not sure who they think they are, but I can guarantee you that they don't need to call my doctor all the time that I pick up even simple medications that are not controlled or anything that serious. I'm from Rhode Island. And Rhode Island doesn't have very many jobs. So I wanted to support CVS, one of Rhode Island's biggest employers, when I moved to Virginia and had to change health plans & pharmacies. Sadly, every visit to this pharmacy has been an unfortunate waste of my time. My main issue is that they have 2-3 different stations in the back (something like pick-up vs. drop-off vs. consultation) and they are super rigid about what happens at each window. I've had to go there a couple times for something that didn't clearly fall into one of those categories, and after finally getting to the front of the line I chose, they tell me I'm at the wrong window and have to go wait in a different line. In Rhode Island we call this wicked annoying. I got my flu shot there this year and my insurer's system was down so I had to pay out of pocket, call to process the refund, and then come into the store to actually get the $ back on my card. I get to the front of the line, and the employee tells me I have to go to the other window for that. The lady at the other window realizes that I actually already called in the insurance charge and just need the payment reversal(pretty sure I said that the first time), so she sends me back to wait for someone at the initial window I stopped at. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because there have been a couple of employees that try to be helpful. But there are some serious operational and customer service issues that make this pharmacy really suck. Do better, CVS! read more

Based on my encounter with this store's pharmacy over this past week (really, months, but I gave in to the convenience of the store's location), I will no longer be a CVS Pharmacy customer. I submitted a refill request on Tuesday, 7/12. Because the medication was out of stock (again), we agreed to transfer the script to a new pharmacy. The new pharmacy was unsuccessful in their attempts to reach this CVS pharmacy via the prescriber's line on Friday, Saturday, and today (Sunday). During that time, I made two trips to the store in person to communicate urgency and plead that they work with the new pharmacy to transfer the script. Today, at risk of running out of my remaining doses, I finally had to get an on-call physician to call the prescription into the new pharmacy. It is unacceptable that this CVS pharmacy is so unavailable and difficult to reach, when customers rely on it for time-sensitive medication. I can always understand stocking or supply issues -- I cannot forgive the blatant lack of effort on their part to free up my prescription to be filled elsewhere. The pharmacist helping me today was eating a bag of chips while at the register and handling customer paperwork/medication which, to me, felt both unhygienic and unprofessional. read more

CVS corporate keeps their pharmacies severely understaffed. I've often seen just one pharmacist and one tech having to juggle filling prescriptions, answer the phone, attend the front register AND the drive up, and stop to give injections, and call doctors and insurance companies. read more

Terrible. Even worse in their new facility than before Maybe after a while they will get organized to move up to their previous 2 star rating. It took almost 3 hours for them to fill a simple amoxicillin Rx. It was phoned in by my provider who left the scrip on voicemail. They only check voicemail once an hour. There was a very long line with only one person at the window, who was slow and whose English comprehension wasn't great. The combination of understaffing and disorganization is fatal. Never again. Harris Teeter in Crozet has been great, and I hear good things about the independent pharmacy on Preston, Top Notch. read more

I went to pick up a prescription yesterday of cough syrup for my wife who may have Covid. I stood in a long line for 40 minutes watching most customers being told their prescription would be ready the next day. When I finally got to the counter they said I could come the next day as it wasn't ready though it was called in 7 hours earlier. This is completely unacceptable. They say it's because they are short staffed. If that's the case then they should stop accepting prescriptions from doctors immediately or transfer the order to another pharmacy that is not inept. For some, it's a matter of life or death. btw, this is happening at this location often and it's the third time it's happened to us. We are switching pharmacies immediately! read more

Decent CVS. Can get a little crowded at around 4-6pm for pharmacy, but overall has everything I need. Parking is free and convenient. Haven't had any issues with bad service. Can't complain! read more

CVS Pharmacy - Store front - Drugstores Near Me - CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia

This CVS is a great location to visit, if you want to waste your time, be treated poorly by the pharmacy staff, and not get your prescriptions. Here's a good example, from my visit today. I come in at around 9:45am on a Wednesday, which shouldn't be the busiest of times. Instead, the drop-off window is closed, the consultation window is occupied by a shipment, and there's a huge line at the pick-up windows. As I'm dropping off, the only option seems to be the pick-up windows, so I get into line. A few minutes later, it's made known to us that--despite the lack of any open non-pick up windows, we should head over to the occupied consultation window. Great. So four of us get into line to drop off, two in front of me, me, and one person behind me. The first person doesn't take much time. A second window opens up, and the second person goes to that window. As the first person is leaving, a random guy not in line walks into the window. The pharmacy tech doesn't seem to notice or care, and lets him in. He takes a long, long time. The guy in front of me takes a long, long time. At about 10:05--that's twenty minutes for those of you counting at home--or so, I finally get to the front. Remember, there were only "two" people ahead of me. Of course, they don't have the prescription that I need. If this were a one-time occurrence, fine, but this happens. All. The. Time. Because I need the prescription (it's not Viagra, so you know), I have the pharmacy tech call two more CVSs. No luck. Of course not. Of course national pharmacy chains shouldn't have prescriptions. That's just silly. At least this pharmacy tech--really, pharmacy tech trainee--was nice. A fairly young, bearded pharmacy tech takes over, and he turns out to be less than a chipper chap. I asked when the next shipment is coming in. He doesn't know. It seemed clear that he didn't particularly want to be bothered. I was having none of that. Generally, when one brings in a prescription to a major national pharmacy chain, one expects to at least get an answer as to when one can get that prescription. Apparently, that was a bit much for him. Because it didn't appear that I was getting the prescription from here any time soon, I had him call one more CVS. Again, attitude from the chap. Finally, I asked if CVS could call me if when the prescription is restocked. After staring at me like I had just shown a dog a card trick, he begrudgingly said yes. Now, if this were a one-time incident, this wouldn't necessitate a one-star rating. This, however, is not a one-time incident. This is apparently the modus operandi for this store's prescription department. tl;dr Go somewhere else. read more

I don't know if the management of CVS pharmacy is giving their employees regular in service of good customer service skills especially their PHARMACISTS which are supposed to be considered the "most professional well being in your store". I had the worst encounter of one of your pharmacist today over the phone who is very impatient to listen first to her customer and ended up very rude to a senior citizen like me. One of the so called "managers" named Elijah was just so rude and unpleasant during my last visit to this CVS. He wouldn't let me exchange some twenties for some fives, he said it was against one of CVS' policies to open the drawer without buying something. And I know for a fact that's a lie because my father works for CVS and said there's no such policy. And a different employee working at the same CVS did let me exchange some money twice before so Elijah was just being unnecessarily rude. So in conclusion, don't go to this CVS. read more

Today I visited this cvs location to pick up a few random things. I had purchased my items and walked out to my car. Once I got into my car to leave, I was hit with the urgent need to use the restroom. I walked back in and politely asked an employee (who appeared to be the manager on duty) if I could use their restroom. She unapologetically said "no. we don't have public restrooms" and began walking away. I started to explain to her that I urgently needed to go, and I had just purchased items. However, before I could even finish my sentence, she pointed to the door as we got closer and told me to go to Kroger which is down the strip mall. I could not even imagine holding it for even that short of a walk. I ended up stopping in the health food store which is right next door (note: they also do not have a public restroom, but very kindly let me use it, and even wished me a good day). I just can't believe that a manager would be so rude. I am very disappointed in this location. read more

My low rating is based on problems I have encountered 3 times in the last year with the availability of prescription drugs that are not unusual prescriptions. I have been getting my prescriptions filled at this CVS for several years. Typically, I use the phone or Internet to order a refill. 3 times in past year I got a text that the drug (a different one each time) was stocked out and that they were expecting to receive more from the distributor in a few days. In one case they did fill the prescription 3 days later, so the reorder must have been received. In the other 2 cases I got messages about CVS's reorder being delayed. I checked with them in person after a week or so and they queried their information system and told me their distributor was having trouble getting the drug from the manufacturer. In the most recent case the pharmacist said she had never seen so many stock outs for which the distributor was having trouble getting the drug. I checked with Walgreens and they said they could fill the prescription in less than a day. In one of these cases they had to reorder from their distributor but had no problem. Another issue that is perplexing and for which the pharmacist had no answer, saying I'd have to contact corporate to get answers. This issue relates to the retail price they typically print on the document they give you when you get the prescription. This retail price varies almost every time for the same drug; sometimes by hundreds of dollars. Fortunately, I have a prescription drug plan through my employer, so the price I pay is the same. I also found that the retail prices they have on the document often bear no resemblance to what various sites (including Medicare.com) say the retail price will be at CVS. While CVS seems to have put lots of dollars in to marketing (discount coupons, automatic refilling prescriptions) they seem to be sorely lacking two factors that are probably the most important to the customer, availability and pricing. I will say they have improved over time in reducing waiting time and in their friendliness. read more

This is the worse run CVS pharmacy that I have ever gone to! There is a Kroger Pharmacy within the Kroger next door, so run there. They are fantastic and never a line and always have drugs in stock. read more
