This is by far the worst Harris Teeter where I have ever shopped. Fiesta it's very old and needs to be renovated. They have leaks as evidenced by the floors in the deli. The store smells unfresh and you have to check expiration dates especially on meat. The service is subpar. I have been to the deli several times only to be met with "you will have to wait awhile." So you wonder why 2 stars? It's an overall calm shopping experience as the place is usually pretty empty. I'm shocked that Harris Teeter has not stepped up and renovated this one. I'm guessing that most people come for the Vic specials and do their bigger shopping at Publix. read more

It's been over seven years since I reviewed this Harris Teeter, and not much has changed. The store is confusing with an odd layout, and the parking lot is hard to navigate. This location lacks the bells and whistles of other Harris Teeter stores in town (salad bar, pizza, pharmacy), and they were out of several sale items on a Saturday. In the ladies room, the stall door lock was broken and boxes and trash were underneath the sink. I'm a fan of Harris Teeter's BOGO specials and eVic deals, so my two stars doesn't reflect the chain as a whole. I came here because it was on my way home, but I wish corporate would remodel the store. read more

Th store is large enough but it is setup in a very strange way with produce on one side and all the deli section on the opposite side. Meat and seafood is set in the back. However, I have to mentioned Kevin at the deli department. He is friendly, talkative and has the best energy. I stopped in to get a sandwich and he really made my day. That man deserves high praise and a raise. Parking is a big strange as all the spots are at an angle. Great location though if you need to stop in and grab something on your way home. read more

While having lunch today in the shopping center I noticed the Harris Teeter sign that advertised Lays chips on sale for $1.49! What a great deal! Since I was already here I stopped in to stock up on my favorites. While getting my fav. chips I noticed that they had Natural Light Naturdays on sale also so I was able to cross off another item on my list. Nothing like a Naturday and Lays for snacking watching the Cowboys games. read more

Smaller-sized Teeter compared to the usual large ones. What's odd is that there is a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods within a stone's throw of here. I wonder what sort of demographic that can support three higher end supermarkets in such a tight grouping. As usual the milk is in the far corner from the entrance. Smaller-sized produce section but the beer and wine more than makes up for it. read more

Nice Harris Teeter store with a bad parking lot. The parking lot here was designed weirdly (is that even a word), I mean it's all crooked and made like compact cars. This might be the reason that the Starbucks is opening a store across the street. But this Harris Teeter store is pretty nice and carries fresh bakery items, produce, deli, meats, and other groceries at reasonable prices. Customer service here from the cashiers and the customer service counter have always been on point. They are happy to help and will help you find what you are looking for. read more

Much improve over the last couple of years. The staff is way better! The management staff is extremely helpful. There is quite a staff turn around with other staff. Mostly the local teens, that's a good thing, and they all are very professional for their age group. That's a good sign they are being trained well and respectful at school. The older locals, some have been there awhile, are super nice and helpful. I actually like shopping here and don't feel burdened that it's the closest store. read more

I love working so close to here, food or drink I need they got it anytime of day. My favorite is the salted large soft pretzels when I want a quick yummy and cheap lunch. Sometimes they have a buy 2 get 3 free shredded cheese deal and I always stock up my freezer. read more

Free identity theft with every head of lettuce. I'm not sure how anyone could describe it as friendly, accents aside it was more like New York than the friendly and hospitable south. The prices are not that great at all, and many of the deals were of the smoke and mirror variety. There were 8 people in line with full carts and one checkout open. The staff were rude, and their store discount card.... YOU CAN NOT SIGN UP WITHOUT GIVING THEM A DRIVERS LICENSE, they absolutely would not give me a card without my DL info and would provide no reason other than a curt and rudely delivered "it's 'corporate policy' and I can't help you". This is inherently dangerous opening you up to the risk of identity theft and there is scant business need to require this in exchange for the equivalent of a Safeway or CVS card (coupon overuse control is cited on web forums) which allows you a slight discount on going off produce or things they have difficulty selling otherwise. The benefits (to them) are completely outweighed by the risks to them and consumers. They say they do not share personal information, I wonder do all the potential hackers of their corporate systems and sites subscribe to the same no sharing policy? Can anyone possibly guarantee they won't get hacked - especially given that they don't seem to hire the sharpest knifes in the drawer. Requiring a drivers license to get a discount on a head of lettuce that is on sale as it's about to go off (or already has, looking at the soaked state of their allegedly 'fresh' vegetable selection) is ridiculous, unnecessary, and dangerous. Just take your business elsewhere. read more

Anywhere in walking distance to my house is bound to get my business, especially with them being open 24hrs a day. It's nice not having to worry about a store closing if you need something late night. I've been committed to Publix for quite some time so when I'm doing a full grocery run, that's where you'll find me. If I need something to add to dinner or ran out of beer with friends coming over, HT is my first thought. The deli is often understaffed and can take a while and if you show up after 10pm it's self checkout only. On the plus side, they run great bogo deals, have a good beer selection, and I never have a problem finding some fresh produce to add to dinner that evening. read more

I usually shop at the east bay store. I stopped by after attending a charleston battery game. It was late 11pm when I checked out. No registers open. No employee to be found. I saw a lady with a cart full top and bottom. She was checking her stuff out at self checkout. $300 worth of groceries. She look extremely frustrated and there was no employees to be found. I had 18 items. So I decided to use the self check out. I had to wait for someone to scan my coupons!!! That took like 15 min. My patience was running. Then I had to wait for a manager. That tool another 10 min. Then self check out was flooded with people (getting angry). My kids were getting angry! Then I remembered that I had a rain check and I was told I could not use my rain check during doubles week. That made me mad. I was like huh. It's only a 70 cent coupon. Not over $.99. I was getting up set. Thank goodness my husband was there because I was frustrated already . The lady with $300 worth of groceries wished me luck after she finally finished checking out last night. It took her almost an hour to use selfcheckout. Same for me almost an hour for 18 items. The evening assistant manager and cashier needs to be more aware of their coupon policy. Customer service is not this stores priority. They don't know how to do a Wic transaction. Just a big frustration store!!!!! read more

Aw, I'm starting to fall in love with this Harris Teeter. Every time I go in here the staff and fellow shoppers are just so happy and friendly - not to mention I am totally addicted to my VIC savings. First time shopping at a Harris Teeter, since I come from the north. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the produce- so many great, local options! They also had a great special on strawberries, which was a bonus for me! Since this place is so close to Trader Joe's, I can see myself coming back here for my staples that I can't find at TJ's. The woman at the register was very nice and made sure I got a discount card. This also completed my mission of shopping at every single grocery store option in the Charleston area, for those of you keeping score. read more

Visiting from Florida and we usually like a stop at Harris Teeter because of the beautiful store and amazing selection but today was probably my last visit to this store due to the rude employees. Were told wrong price and no one apologized for the confusion or offered to honor the price we were told. At Publix they would have honored the price or given it to me for free for the inconvenience! I usually end up stopping at this HT whenever I come to Mt. Pleasant to go to Trader Joes or Whole Foods and need to grab an item(s) that those stores don't carry. But that's about the only time I go there. The layout of the store is kind of strange. My least favorite thing about this location is the check out process. They rarely have cashiers working. So I end up using the self checkout. Which is fine if I have an item or two. But it's annoying if I have several items or am purchasing alcohol or something that needs an employee to punch in some numbers. It doesn't matter what time you shop at, they never seem to have enough or a lot of times any cashiers working. The selection is also very standard. Nothing special as far as the products go. Which is why I tend to go to the downtown or Belle Hall location more often. Don't waste your time here. read more

This Harris Teeter is one of the better grocery stores that I have been to in Charleston. The employees are very helpful and are very knowledgeable about the layout of the store. Another huge plus to this Harris Teeter is the donuts that they have here. The donuts are from Saffron a local bakery that is located downtown. Everyone needs to try one of these donuts. Everyone also needs to grab one of the free cookies they are delicious too! read more

This is my local grocer. I frequent 3-5 times a week. I do the majority of my grocery shopping here and supplement at Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The employees are warm and helpful. Checkout is fast. The seafood and meat dept employees are great. They will special order whatever you need. The cheese selection is limited and pricey. Usually good bogo deals on frozen food and very fresh produce and flowers. read more
