Super friendly service with a fun atmosphere. It's got seating on the first and second floor with murals around. They have a pretty big menu of vegan and non-vegan options. I got a byo bagel with egg, cheese, spinach and a side of cream cheese and a lemonade. It is pretty pricey, I spent $20 for just a lemonade and a bagel sandwich. Price point is the only reason I'm taking off a star but if you don't mind that then this place is awesome!

Extensive vegan menu on the board. My two children (one teen boy, one tween girl) & I stopped in for brunch on this day of doctor appointments for both. Harrison St. Cafe was the perfect fueling station for bodies & minds. My son got the vegan deluxe burrito, my daughter vegan egg and cheese sandwich w soysage, and I got the beer-battered tofu sandwich. Everything came to $30 and was satisfying. Definitely filing this one in rotation for our visits to RVA. YES: VEGAN friendly YES: kid friendly

Great vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options. I'm eating the gyro and it's so good!! Only open for lunch and breakfast.

Spinach, tomato, mozzarella, and swiss omelette. [Create your own omlette]

I knew this place existed, but over the years, I forgot. I needed some breakfast quick and found them via Yelp (YAAAAAY!!!!). I called in a to go order for a create your own omelette. My omelette was to be filled with spinach, tomato, mozzarella cheese and swiss cheese. I was told it would be ready in give to ten minutes from the call. I arrived to the restaurant less than 10 minutes later and my order was ready. The restaurant looks small, but has a great vibe and atmosphere. Upon picking up my order, I noticed it was still quite warm. I drove to my destination and opened the container. The omelette was huge. It was still warm. Not too thick of egg. Stuffed with everything I asked for. I did wish there wasn't as much spinach because it overpowered the rest of the ingredients and hid them. Yet, I appreciate getting my money's worth. It was good. Everything was cooked well and perfectly. I would definitely come back to this place. I have added ot to my list, so I will not forget it again. I also appreciate that they have vegan bacon and soyages. If only they had turkey bacon and turkey or chicken sausage. I would go broke. Lol

The perfect vegan/vegetarian spot for a quick and easy lunch! We are visiting Richmond for the week and came across this cute little cafe while driving by VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University). We decided to grab some food on a whim and boy, that $?!@ was bussing respectfully. Sheesh! A friendly hostess came out on the street to greet us and take our order (currently, they are only serving take-out and pickup). We ordered a cheeseburger with non-vegan dairy cheese and a gyro, as well as the side of the day (which happened to be Mac salad mm). We were ravishingly hungry and gobbled the food immediately. The cheeseburger was delicious and filling, stuffed with all the fixings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles). The gyro was full of savoury "meat" and a delicious white sauce, served on pita and wrapped in aluminum foil (gotta keep everything in!) All in all, this is a great spot and I appreciate the accessible food options (can be tough out here for us vegetarians). Thanks for the yummy food and fast n' friendly service.

Vegan soysage biscuit ($2.25). Really tasty. Great homemade seitan. They sell out fast in the morning.

Harrison Street Cafe was around the corner from where I stayed and served as a reliable, friendly spot to get a vegan meal, a cup of loose-leaf tea or to just use the wi-fi. The vegan Soysage Biscuits ($2.25) are wonderful little marvels, with homemade, fennel-licious seitan sausage. If I could, I'd buy these in bulk and pack them away for quick snacks on-the-go. The vegan Gyro with homemade seitan ($11.45) wasn't as good, however. The pita bread sucked and the vegan tzatziki sauce had way too much dill. But the homemade seitan rocked it---I wish they'd use this to make a vegan philly sandwich or a vegan Italian beef hoagie instead. I also had a vegan chocolate peanut butter cup ($2.25) which was delicious. Harrison Street Cafe is a great place to hang out or get a meal.

The Popeye Burrito... picture does it no justice, if you can handle a little spice you'll love it...

Great vegan breakfast any time of day... the Popeye Burrito (vegan version) was amazing and super filling The soysage biscuits were great even after reheating... can't wait to go back to be honest...

What gluten free/vegan options is there on the menu? I'm celiac and almost only eat vegan food, can eat vegetarian food if there's no gluten free/vegan options. Thanks!

There are plenty of ways to make something gluten free, they have protein packed salads, soup, and serve breakfast all day. I would ask the staff as well. They are all super friendly.

The ambiance was clean and orderly. Upon entering, you grab a serving tray lined with parchment and some tongs. The items are in a glass enclosed display that you have to open and place your selections on your tray for purchase. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

It is fast casual - you order at the kiosk and grab a place to eat, listening for your number and/or text to alert you the food is ready. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday night. It was busy and I grabbed one of the last two tables. It got very busy shortly after we placed our orders. The dining area is pretty big with plenty of bar seating around the windows. While we all ordered one after the other, our food didn't come out that way. Most of the food came out in about 25-30 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy! Two people got tenders and three of us got sandwiches. The OG sandwich was very good, just messy! I ended up using a fork and knife bc it got too messy. The Mac and cheese was made with pimento cheese and was very good. My friend who got the fried green tomatoes said they were delicious and filling. Lots of goodies on top. Two friends enjoyed the collards. The only person who was underwhelmed was the person who got the Asian sandwich. Overall, if I wanted a good chicken sandwich and a Buttermilk and Honey was nearby, I'd place an order.

We walked in to find the staff bustling, cooking, and prepping orders, and the smell of some delicious fried chicken in the air. I saw the kiosks and was not too thrilled with the Wawa experience, but we gave it a shot anyway, since fried chicken is one of our favorites. The process was simple and allowed us to add or remove anything we could want, so that was nice. While walking to find a seat, we saw a person panhandling in the dining area, but the staff promptly removed him from the premises. I ordered us the Pimento Cheese Balls for an appetizer, and I chose the Fried Chicken and French Toast as my entree because I always try the "chicken and waffles" at every establishment that offers it. My partner ordered the OG Chicken Sandwich without tomato, and it came with crinkle-cut fries. It was about $40. The chef proclaimed our order was ready in quick succession, maybe three orders behind the guests before us. We waited about ten minutes, maybe fifteen at most. We picked up the orders from the counter, and there was a mix-up on the syrup, but the chef promptly rectified the situation. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy; straight to the point. He seemed firm, yet kind. It was clear the day had been a busy one; he even told us as much, which was great to hear (busy = fantastic food). The French toast squares looked like rye or pumpernickel, and they emitted a sweet aroma, a delightful hit of cinnamon and brown sugar. I drizzled the caramel syrup on my chicken and toast, sliced a piece, and paired a bite of chicken with the toast. I closed my eyes to savor the flavors: the toast was crunchy and almost gooey (yet, not overly so), the chicken was crunchy, the sweet cinnamon-y flavors from the toast, the caramel from the syrup, and the tender, moist chicken were a match made in culinary art. I cannot sufficiently describe the French toast in a way that would do it justice; it was crunchy and semi-gooey, and all scrumptious. I can only say it was the single best French toast that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Next, I tried the fried pimento cheese balls. Oh my. If you like mozzarella sticks, try these. I adored them: elevated fried cheese, for real. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well; she ate everything except some of her fries. I saved half of my chicken and toast for today because I am like a treasure golem when it comes to delicious leftovers. I am going to air-fry the chicken and skillet-heat the toast back to its original goodness. I told the cooks that that was the best French toast that I have ever had, and I mean it. Do yourself a favor and try it if you're into French toast. This one is the GOAT. Side note: I spoke with the head chef outside, and he is from another branch (possibly Henrico?) to whip this location back into shape. Two words: "Nailed it."
