I don't cook or bake so Harrow's Chicken Pies is my go-to when it comes to the holiday. Yes, I'm that person! This location is located in a narrow plaza with probably enough parking for the surrounding businesses. It's a fitting size store for all their freshly-made and ready-to-bake pies and if there's ever a line, there's space for that too. Chicken Pot Pie- Pop this guy in the oven for 30-45 minutes and when the crust is golden, it's eating time! The filling was a smidge on the watery side for my liking but the chicken was tender. And I can't neglect the potatoes and carrots; they complemented each other together nicely, not overly mushy and good ratio too. Apple Pie- Sweet, cinnamony, just darn scrumptious once it's reheated. Overall Service: They may only have less than 10 items on the menu and it still takes me a couple of minutes to decide. Patience was key and they nailed it the friendly department. read more

I grew up loving Harrow's as a kid. My parents would bring by the hot and ready chicken pot pies with nothing but potatoes and chicken and gravy. Fast forward it to when I met my husband, his grandparents brought some home from the one in Lynnfield and I knew I was still in love with this place. A few weeks ago, we got the frozen one from Tewksbury. You have to call at least an hour and a half in advanced for them to bake it for you to be hot and ready when you come get it. So we just got the frozen one and baked it ourselves for an hour and a half. It was just as good as I remembered it, but they put a bit too many carrots in the pie, other than that, it is still one of my favorite chicken pot pie places in MA. read more

Best chicken pie!!! I stopped by on a whim after I ran into Wal-Mart. I got a 4 person chicken and veggie cold pie, mashed potatoes and gravy. It took 55 min to heat up perfectly in the oven. It was so delicious and kid approved too!! I will definitely go out of my way to come back soon. read more

After stopping at Walmart for some art supplies, my son really wants to try the Harrow's chicken pot pie for the first time. The staff was very helpful in explaining how it works. You can buy a fresh or frozen one and cook it at home or call ahead to have a hot one baked for you. It so happened that they have an "apartment size" pie (serves 2 to 3) with vegetables baked and available. We got that and six fresh dinner rolls for $20. The pot pie is filled with large tender pieces of chicken, potatoes, and carrots in a creamy sauce under a nice, flaky crust. The sauce is not too rich and not overly salty. The dinner roll are very fresh, soft, and fluffy. Definitely got the fresh homemade taste and feel. read more

Recently went to Harrow's after I had heard from a few people how good the Chicken Pies were. We went to the store in Tewksbury, MA, although they have several other locations as well. These pies are available cold, frozen or if you call ahead they will bake them for you to bring home hot. They are loaded with huge chunks of tender white meat chicken; with or without vegetables. I have had both ways, but I prefer them with no vegetables, as I don't care for potatoes in chicken pie. I take a little egg wash and brush it on top of the crust so it bakes nice and golden. They also sell freshly baked rolls, dessert pies, sides such as squash, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, etc. Hands down the best!!! First off as a pie specialist we first bought an apple pie from here and found it to be below average. The worst part was the crust so we were hesitant to go for a chicken pie to follow. At one point our family had suffered a loss and a friend picked up a chicken pie to help us not worry about cooking dinner during that time so our first test of a Harrow's chicken pie began. Honestly it was much better than the apple pie we purchased but still lacked on overall flavor and consistency. I would prefer a chicken pie from Cote's market down town Lowell or even KFC first. Harrows is just so so in my book but no worries I'll give them a try again and see if they improve along the way. I may pick one up in the morning/afternoon for dinner tomorrow night to give them another shot. After all everyone deserves the chance to show what they have got. We ordered 4 Chicken Pies with sides of mac n cheese and mashed potatoes to feed a big crowd. We arranged to have the food hot and ready for us when we picked up. Apparently they only heat up the pies, upon pick up I was informed that the sides were cold and I'd have to microwave them. It was pretty disappointing to spend almost $200 on dinner and have my hot pies cold by the time we had to heat up all of our sides. Not sure if this is the norm or if you need to specify what you want them to heat up. So i excitedly picked up a frozen pie for my family to celebrate my brother getting a new job. After waiting over and for for it to get done, I take it out and let it cool off. I slice a piece for everyone and tell them to dig in... Everyone's face went totally sideways. The pie was BLAND as hospital food. No salt, no pepper no seasoning. The only vegetables inside were carrots. The crust was nice but the filling was no palatable. I honestly could not understand how this place could only sell pies and sell this type of pie. Harrow's makes the most amazing chicken pot pies! I had no idea this location existed, and was so surprised when I caught a glimpse of their logo while driving by that I had to turn around and go in. As with other Harrow's locations the pies are delicious and they offer several sizes that can come with just chicken or with a yummy vegetable assortment of carrots and potatoes. You can also get already cooked pies. They have sides to go with the pies and real pies that are also delicious. I have never tried a pot pie that tasted consistently wonderful like Harrow's. Starting a new Sunday night tradition with Harrow's, now that the new location opened up in the area. We're not usually the type to go for Chicken Pot Pie, but these are out of this world great! This isn't anything close to what you might expect for other store bought chicken pies. The chicken is all white meat, tender, and peels off on your fork with just the right amount of gravy. Harrow's knows what's up, and leaves out the peas in favor of a carrot/potato mix if you ask for "veggies". Even the rolls are great. Just try it, and you'll be hooked! read more

I had this for dinner the other night.It was really good.You can get one with or w/out veggies and either fresh made or frozen, we got the fresh one, it has carrots and potato pieces in there, and HUGE chunks of chicken.I would suggest to eggwash or butter up the crust to brown better. in about an hour you will have a hot delicious chicken pie, they picked up some rolls and cranberry sauce to go with it.Not sure what size was picked up, however, the round one easily can feed 4 people. By far one of the best chicken pot pies out there. If you can't make it to the original spot in Reading, this is the next best thing. I suggest taking home the unbaked & cooking on your own time. If you need a cooked one right away, call ahead to make sure they have the size you want. If they don't have a hot one on their shelf, they'll bake one for you.
