Methuen location is absolutely terrible on the weekend. Sunday evening no one in line, I stand in front of the bakery counter for ten minutes then ask a young guy, who is working bakery. His response, "Oh, what do you need?" Then I went to pay I added 1 slice and took my seat, after twenty-five more minutes, I went to the counter and asked for a refund for my 1 slice. I notice the young man that helped me at the bakery just smile. Employee's standing around noticing people waiting for service. Customer service was awful. Pretty disappointed because this location is close to home, but I will never go back to that location especially if three or four of those employees are working. One star seems too generous. (Visited, 2/27/25) I recently visited this Tripoli's location, which shares a space with Dunkin and a convenience store. Even though I've lived in the area, this was my first time stopping by -- and I was pleasantly surprised. I came in for one of their regular strawberry shortcake cakes. I was greeted immediately upon arrival, and though the cakes weren't on display, they had them ready in the fridge "in the back." The staff was quick and helpful. While waiting, I browsed for one of their stuffed breads, but they didn't have any out at the moment. A staff member let me know fresh ones would be ready in about 15 minutes and kindly asked if I wanted to wait. I wasn't in a rush, so I waited in their cozy little seating area. Once the bread was ready, they packed it up for me. The service was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been to Santarpios, Regina's, you name it in Boston....this place is the CROWN JEWEL. The pastries were phenomenal as expected, let's just get that outta the way first. The cannoli, the lobster tail, the shortbread cookie...phenomenal. I was told they were all made at their "other location" daily. The calzone was just OK. A little under seasoned, a little bready. A nice crisp outside though. Next time id skip the calzone and get three more slices of extra cheese. But the PIZZA. Idk what the "magic" here is but it's knock out. Super thin, very CRISPY crust with a little crunchy rolled edge. A piece of provolone on top to finish it. The smoky provolone is KILLER. But BOYS...the SAUCE... oh my god... it's a littttttttle on the sweet side...but it's a 10. This sauce stands alone. It's the Everest, the Ali, it's the BRADY of pizza sauce. I can TASTE the delicious tomatoes. They are so bright and so delicious. This is the pizza I've been searching high and low for for over 4 years. Granted I've never been to Chicago, and I haven't been to NY since starting my quest...but this pizza is by FAR the best I've had. It's probably made from 5 total ingredients, but I'd bet my entire Yelp career on it. Also it wouldn't surprise me if some people don't see what I'm getting at here. "It's plain" or "uninspiring". it just keeps getting worse and worse at Tripolis. I could at least count on the scala bread. we have been getting it since the 70's. Now we can't even count on the scala bread. First mistake is that they had all the loaves presliced and in plastic bags. I just had my first slices. it had very little seeds, the consistency was completely different and most importantly absolutely tasteless. This was at the Methuen location. This location is a bit of a clusterfuck. Salisbury can handle a long line of customers and keep it moving smoothly. Went to this location today to get a few slices and the young girl working didn't know if she was coming or going. Most of the other 6-7 people working at 6:30pm on Aug 6th were also doing way more talking and gawking than getting work done. I don't care personally, I just won't come back here...I just can't help think the owner should just hire the one old guy from Salisbury and fire 4 or more of the other knuckle heads. I have been eating at tripoli's pizza since I was a little kid. I used to drive to Lawrence with my dad to go to the original and I have it every time I visit the beach. I went camping with my dad this weekend so I HAD to stop on my way for some center slices. I like a couple with extra cheese and a couple OG. The pizza was fresh, crust was crisp and the sauce was oh so sweet. Easily my favorite pizza of all time. If you haven't been give it a shot, you will not be disappointed. Oh ps. Tripoli is a neighborhood pizza/pastry/liquor/convenient store with a variety of everything you could possibly think of alongside with a Dunkin Donuts and Express US Postal Office. Over to the pastry area, it was completely clustered with different styles and flavors of baked goods. For me, it was a bit overwhelming because each pastry has quite a few selection of flavors and sizes pick from. And it was really hard to tell where the line started too. Once you do managed to sort that out, you can sit down at one of their tables and enjoy the goodies. Ricotta Cannoli- I went with regular size cannoli, the shell was a bit tough but I did like the light cheesy cream filling. Overall Service: Lots of young kids working here. Conveniently located, sharing a space with a Dunks, Post office,, and convenience store.Everyone here has been really nice and helpful each visit. Not a fan of the pizza, just not my style. Lots of sauce, minimal cheese, square cut. I've been chipping away at the baked goods. The carrot cake is ok, it has raisins in the cake, with cream cheese frosting, and chopped walnuts on the frosting. I did not enjoy the cream cheese frosting, its was super sweet and just really artificial tasting. I actually ordered my son's birthday cake here after trying the chocolate cake. They have 2 different chocolate cakes, the slice I tried was good, and we requested to have that specific chocolate in his birthday cake which they said was fine. Birthday day came around, the cake looked great, but the cake was not the same, and we were really disappointed. Nobody like the standard vanilla frosting they iced the cake with either . The review and star is about one employee. Not the food, pastries or any other employee. A woman name I didn't see on name tag as I am short and couldn't see much over the counter. I will elaborate my reason for the one star. A customer English speaking woman asked for information for a cake order, as she began to ask if happy birthday could be in English except for the word mother in Spanish could be done, the employee did ask many times if she wanted it all in Spanish, customer constantly said no. The customer and employee ended the order, In my observation in ended in a positive and well manner. But,to my surprise I heard the employee talking mis information and attacking the customer to another employee in gossip. She was heard by the 8 people sitting. She described the customer as racist saying she looked at her up and down when the employee asked her if she wanted the writing in Spanish, also saying I can write in Spanish I'm not stupid. The employee is a woman who is light skinned a little fluffy brown hair very loud and an attention seeker. This is my first time using Uber eats for Tripoli delivery and it was great just as timed. The drive very nice and friendly. We always get pizza from Tripoli's who doesn't right? Anyways TODAY was my first time adding mushrooms to my pizza and I wish I hadn't because it was a big disappointment the mushrooms are NOT fresh they are canned, so I picked through it!! It made the pizza sloppy and soggy. We ate the pizza but will NOT do that again unless Tripoli's physically adds it to the menu order that they own use fresh veggies!! The people that work here are friendly and efficient. I got a 8 box pizza with extra cheese and it took under 10ish minutes for them to prepare/heat it up. The pizza itself was delicious if you like "beach pizza". The provolone and sweet sauce go great together and I like the square style cut. They also have an array of desserts and pastries which I didn't get this time, but would definitely be interested in trying out. Let's get this out of the way... the pizza and macaroons at Tripoli's is the best there is! The Macaroons are literally the best in the world (as far as I know). The food is a 5! But I'm not just rating the Tripoli brand (which gets a 5), but this location. My one complaint that costs this location a star is that my wife and I came to eat in a relax a little bit while my parents watched our toddler... getting a well deserved break. We played a game of rummy while we ate and as soon as we were done, a guy came out and asked us to put the cards away and leave. He said "the man upstairs" didn't like us playing cards. Cookies are my favorite dessert; and this location has the best Italian Cookies I've found north of Boston. I've been a few times now, and the cookies are always fresh, moist, and melt in your mouth delicious. I've had their pizza a few times and its similar to what you'd expect at a beachside pizza stand.
