I researched local eateries that had outdoor seating and made my way down to Zuzu's. Though most of the tables were roped off to the side, I noticed a couple open ones in the front, so I proceeded. The small shop is quaint and cute, but the menu is ample. The sandwich selections sounded scrumptions and I had a hard time picking just one. I finally settled on the French Chicken that includes grilled chicken, goat cheese, asparagus, tomato, greens and herb mayo. You get your choice of panini, sandwich bread or a wrap. Not many places offer flavored wraps and I am happy to report that Zuzu's does (white, wheat or spinach). I got the spinach. I asked the worker if the patio was open and she directed me to the same two patio tables I had seen when I first approached. She seemed a little stressed or preoccupied, but no matter, I was content to enjoy the day. I waited at my table for the sandwich to arrive and got to do some people watching along main street in the crisp air. My sandwich arrived in less than 10 minutes and I dived right in. Delicious! I love how it was laid out, every layer provided an even bite. I'm a sucker for anything with goat cheese on it, so it was already a win, but I hadn't seen the asparagus listed on the menu, so I was a little taken aback. But I have to say that it provided a perfect little crunch. The chicken was tender and the herb aioli was uplifting. I read a previous review about the Zuzu's pickles, and I have to agree. I actually make my own pickles at home and would prefer a more fresh sliced pickle on the side than the one that was provided. Overall, my first time at Zuzu's was a 4 star experience, and I look forward to enjoying many more delectable menu items!

The day of, I picked up the food cold and heated it myself according to Dawn's instructions, and every item we ordered was fantastic. Literally every single person at the party remarked on how great it all was. I highly recommend Zuzu's for any catering needs, and thank Dawn for helping me pull together a successful family event. She couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with (even when I was inadvertently slightly a jerk during pickup because of a previous and completely unrelated interaction I had had earlier that day). They provided yummy cookies and brownies for dessert. I received many compliments for the food. They provided two servers to set up and clean up and they did a wonderful job. They were very pleasant, attentive, efficient and unobtrusive. We also had a cake that we bought separately and the staff was more than willing to cut it for us. Alison, the event manager, not only acts as your caterer but she really does handle the event coordinator role too, and she is very familiar with it, so ladies, you can sit back and relax. Rentals, decorations, food - they handle it ALL so don't bother hiring an event coordinator - trust me, with these guys you don't need one. Budget: The people at Two Chefs really do work with your budget. In fact, they work harder than the typical caterer to be within your budget, whatever it may be. Alison understood me from the get-go and knew straight away what things could be done to lessen the numbers while still being completely honest with me. Actually, I think they ended up making it UNDER-my budget. Tasting: I ended up doing a tasting with Walter (one of the three head chefs) and he was phenomenal, staying with us to joke around and answer any questions we had. When we gave him our opinions on the food (the original chicken we had was a little dry and we weren't fond of the foccacia for a wedding setting), he didn't get upset. Instead, he pondered for a while and recommended a ton of other chicken dishes. That's what I call being a great chef. You don't take things personally, instead you aim to help your client as best you can. The meats at the tasting were all tender and juicy, the salad was extremely fresh (we had a choice of 3!) and the mashed potatoes were silky smooth and left you wanting more. Issues?: There was a slight problem with the linen numbers the day before the wedding and I started to get a panicky, but Steve (another head chef) stepped in and said that he'd take care of it. He even called me a second time to reassure me and tell me not to be worried about a thing. Again, amazing. Day of: Kathy (event coordinator) was a comforting presence at my side at all times to make sure I had everything I needed and to remind me of when I needed to do things. Steve (one of the 3 head chefs) was always there bringing me food so that I would be able to eat. Thank you Steve! What people said?: It was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. One friend said that normally the beef is either way undercooked or really dried out, but this was perfectly cooked beef and he had several helpings. And they were extremely efficient at clearing away plates, the place was spotless! More importantly, you're not a number to them - you become someone they want to get to know personally and to make happy - which is something you really can't pay for. Forget the big expensive caterers who end up costing you a fortune for food and service, Two Chefs works the service cost in so that you can see the final number and they work extra hard to make your wedding (or any event) perfect.
