Battered Fish Taco!
Caitlin D.

Harry's Taco Club is a popular spot at many beaches in San Diego. It did surprise me that they opened in Del Mar. If you're walking past while on the side walk-- when you look up and only see a bright blue awning and a bright pink door. Some door detail or something might help the place out. I walk by a lot, but it's not that crowded as I expect it to be. There's no indoor seating, only a few tables outdoor. They package your food in plastic bag with a napkin, 3 sauces (red, orange, green), and foil wrapped paper boat. You can take this to the Del Mar City Hall, Seagrove Park, Powerhouse Park, or even to the common outdoor area of L'Auberge Hotel-- to enjoy, if the tables are taken up. I ordered the Battered Fish Taco and it was around ~$6. For one... imo that's kind of wild! It was the size of my hand. It's loaded with pico de gallo, shredded cabbage, and for some reason they gave me some sliced avocados even though the menu said it costed extra if you request it (which I didn't). It's nice that the fish wasn't overly battered. I tried their orange sauce and it didn't have much flavor. The green sauce had a touch of spice which tasted good! Both just a bit on the thick side. I had their sauces before at their PB location and it was much more flavorful. They have self serve water cups. And in addition to Mexican food they also do juicing and smoothies.

A small modern taco spot focusing on seafood tacos. Their tacos are pretty big. All the seafoods were fresh but kinda lackluster flavor-wise. They also do smoothies which I didn't try but overall not a bad quick grub spot.

Breakfast burrito or a baby wrapped in a blanket?

One of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had in my life and trust me I have had a lot. It was like 2 pounds which means that after I ate it. My body weight was 1 percent made up of breakfast burrito. Got 3 sauces. Like. A creamy cilantro. Red sauce. And a Chipotle one. They were all so good. The lady who served me was really nice too!!!

Ate here a few times now, tacos and Carne Asada burritos. Worth the 15 minutes or so to get it. Thanks Harry's! ;/)

Delicious burritos! Perfect to take to the beach. The tortillas were fresh made and the pinto beans had great flavor!

Our server was fine and friendly. The food came out quickly. We had the chips and salsa (excellent). I asked for a non spicy salsa and my friends wanted spicy so they brought some of each. We split the the Heart of Palm Ceviche! So amazing and it was big with a beautiful presentation. Just delicious. I could have eaten that alone with no other items. It was a vegan Ceviche and the fish was not missed. My friends ordered really cool cocktails and raved about them. My one friend said that this is the only place she can get this particular cocktail and that she comes here just for it. I ordered 2 tacos (Mr. Asparagus and the Baja fish taco). Both delicious and they came with housemade potato chips (which I thought was weird until I tasted them). I was so full but I couldn't not eat the chips because they were so good. One friend ordered the Quesabirria and she didn't love it. It was very strange as it was wrapped in fried cheese. They also ordered the other tacos and loved them. The only one that didn't get a thumbs up was the Quesabirria. I am looking forward to introducing this restaurant to other friends. So good!

This is by far, one of the best sit down historical Mexican Restaurants around. We came in and sat on the beautiful patio. The salsa had oregano instead of cilantro and a little heat! The chili relleno was amazingly old school with a perfect egg batter. The beans were amazing. The rice had heat. The turkey taco was the standout. The marg wasn't a face punch of lime and sugar. Service is weird, but not enough to tank a perfect meal!

NOT DOG FRIENDLY…read more Came in on a Friday around 1:15 PM. The patio had a few tables already seated and looked nice at first glance. The experience started off a bit off-putting. There's a sign saying no dogs allowed on the patio, which felt odd for an outdoor space. We were told dogs weren't allowed, even though another table had a dog sitting there. Our dogs are registered service animals, and when that came up, the interaction felt tense rather than straightforward. We ultimately said we'd take our business elsewhere, especially since there are other restaurants very close by. After that, the situation shifted. One of the staff members ended up seating us, and our server was genuinely great. She was kind, attentive, and easily the best part of the service experience. Another staff member did seem a bit uncomfortable or standoffish when bringing waters, but things improved once our server took over. Food-wise, I ordered the turkey taco and enchilada combo with rice and beans. They're known for turkey dishes, but it didn't really stand out to me. The turkey was on the dry side. The beef enchilada was better and pretty standard for Tex-Mex. The salsa had a solid heat to it, which I didn't care for. They don't serve queso, which was surprising. I also tried the guacamole, but it tasted more processed than fresh, so I wouldn't order that again. We also tried one of their popular margaritas, which our server recommended. It was fine, nothing memorable, but not bad either. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. At checkout, the same staff member who initially handled the dog situation was much friendlier and even gave us a chocolate on the house, which was a nice gesture and appreciated. Overall, the patio is cute and the service from our server was excellent. That said, the initial welcome and inconsistent handling of the patio policy left a bad first impression. Food was average. I don't see myself coming back though.

Since it was late morning, it was pretty quiet, with only a handful of people both upstairs and downstairs. They had a soccer match playing on the TVs downstairs, which added a nice touch to the atmosphere. The service was excellent. Rachel, the bartender, was friendly, fun to chat with, and made an outstanding margarita. For food, I ordered the: *Three Street Tacos: I chose the Baja taco, carne asada, and carnitas. All three were delicious, but the Baja taco was my favorite. The complimentary chips and salsa were a nice bonus. I especially appreciated that the salsa wasn't spicy. Unfortunately, my roommate and I were not impressed by the food and drink - my frozen mango margarita tasted chemical-y (I couldn't finish it) and the rice was lacking flavor. It' is a charming little taco shop tucked away in a small mini mall at 524 Stevens Avenue in Solana Beach. I ordered a pollo asado burrito, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. Although the burrito seemed large at first, it was perfect for my hunger since I had not eaten all day. The burrito was bursting with flavor, and the salsa was fresh and delicious. Also, the service was impressively quick as my burrito was ready within five minutes of ordering. The ambiance was enhanced by cheerful, happy Mexican music playing softly in the background. Additionally, Rudy's offers convenient money exchange services and shipping to Mexico, making it even more unique. The interior is cozy and impeccably clean.
