My friend suggested this place for lunch and we loved it! It's right across the street from the ocean and a block from Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach. There was a nice breeze and perfect weather when we were there. It has a large outdoor patio seating area in front. There were small patio umbrellas scattered around but it was still too sunny so we opted to sit in the covered seating area above. We had a great view of the ocean. Food was fast and perfect. Only observation was that the bathroom was not too clean. Not from a busy weekend, but from lack of a detailed cleaning for several days. Their drink menu is also extensive including alcohol like wines, mimosa and beer as well as coffees, teas and smoothies. I ended up ordering the pesto chicken wrap that also came with a side of chips. The wrap was loaded with succulent pieces of chicken and was very flavorful. The whole grain tortilla held up well throughout the meal and had good texture with each bite. The chips that came along were decent - had good crunch but lacked any kind of flavor. Fortunately the salsa came in clutch to kick things up a notch. The portions were also better than I had expected. The staff were friendly, efficient in placing our order and packaging it up, and thorough in fulfilling the order by including utensils and napkins as they handed the order to us. For takeout orders, they had given us an approximate wait time of 15 minutes and it was quite accurate. There wasn't much space to wait near the register so we ended up waiting near the front entrance near the sidewalk but after the 15 minutes, we made our way back to see that our order was in the process of getting packed up. Overall, Naked Cafe is a great spot to grab a light meal or lunch while soaking in so rays. With its open seating area covered only by the umbrellas at each table, you'll bask in the open air while consuming delicious plates made to order with fresh ingredients and healthy and sustainable options. NAKED CAFE @ SOLANA BEACH Parking was super convenient, there's plenty of street parking, or you can park in their four-hour free customer lot, which is also available for beachgoers. I came on a Sunday and had no trouble finding a spot. Naked Café is literally right by the beach, about a two minute walk, which makes the location absolutely beautiful. I've been to their Carlsbad location before, so I was really excited to finally check this one out. At first glance, this location is definitely much smaller than the Carlsbad one. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but since it was a bit chilly being right on the coast, I preferred sitting indoors. It was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon, so we waited about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't too bad. One thing I did notice, though, is that the trash and recycling bins are right next to the line and outdoor seating, which made sitting outside a little less pleasant. Once we were seated, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I ordered their iconic pesto avocado toast, which is hands down my favorite. It comes with a side of rosemary potatoes, and they are to die fornot greasy or deep-fried, but a much healthier and flavorful alternative. I also love their chocolate strawberry pancakes. My boyfriend and I split them, two pancakes for about $10, which felt like a great deal. He ordered the Green Heart quesadilla, which was also really good. We added avocado for an additional $3, and he paired it with a kombucha. The food came out in about 10 minutes, which was impressive given how busy it was. The interior is super beachy, cozy, and cute, and overall the food is consistently delicious. Entrées range around $15-$18, which is very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. When I initially saw the location and menu at this restaurant, I was excited to try it. Our servers were super friendly and attentive but honestly wasn't that impressed by the food. Let me preface that I do appreciate a place that provides healthy meal options (no seed oils and plenty of GF/vegan options). However, I didn't think the food tasted all that good. We got the carrot ginger soup which was just okay, I wish it was a little thicker. We also got the chicken wrap and ginger tacos and again, I was super underwhelmed. None of the meals had much flavor. I definitely don't see myself coming back here because of the food. If I were to come back, I would try the smoothies. read more

I discovered Naked Cafe today while I was out at Fletcher Cove Beach with my little one. I was craving a coffee and it was conveniently right there. There was nice outdoor seating which was amazing because the weather was beautiful and there's views of the beach from there too. I ordered my coffee (honey cinnamon latte) and decided to try the steak tenderloin hash. Both were so delicious! We came about half an hour before they close for the day but the server was kind and let us order and chill for a bit. Breakfast is by far my most favorite meal of the day. I always wake up hungry as some people wake up craving their first cup of coffee. Just feed me please! I had this café bookmarked for the Encinitas location, but my good friend told me this location was more scenic. She was so right! We came on a weekday and it was busy but we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view and we were lucky enough to get a table right away. There is also indoor dining available as well but when you are on the coast, you usually want to sit outside. The café is dog friendly so we had my friends dog with us. The view is so nice across the street from Fletcher Cove Park and then Boom! there is the ocean. We started out with the Daydreamer Mimosa - champagne, fresh squeezed lemonade and lavender and the Pink Lotus Mimosa - champagne, fresh squeezed lemonade and raspberry. Both drinks were very refreshing and brought a nice buzz to the morning. So many great choices on the menu to choose from but I decided on the Solstice Burritos. This was such a good choice. The burritos were filled with scrambled eggs, jack cheese, green onion, tomato, flour tortilla, I added avocado, side of beans and rosemary potatoes. I really loved my meal and drink. Everything tasted so fresh and I would love to dine here again to try more of their dishes. For our vegan friends, they also serve you with many scrumptious dishes. Our server Michael was so kind and he made sure we were well taken care of even bringing some water over for my friends' dog. Thank you Michael for your fantastic service. Parking is complimentary on the street where you can find it. It is mixed residential/commercial in this area. Good for groups or small parties and very kid friendly--excellent kid's menu! The food was tasty but I've been there a few times and it was a little inconsistent. Love that they have a wide variety of options and a lot of healthy ones (that still look and sound delicious) too. My main complaint is the bees. As I mentioned I've been there multiple times and there are a lot of bees or wasps) not sure which) on the patio. We moved indoors twice and one time they were even inside. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to harm or remove the bees, but it did detract from our dining experience. Regardless I will still come back because it's a great neighborhood spot! read more

My family has been a part of the Solana Beach and DelMar community since the 1920's. Today my wife and I had the displeasure of how it feels to be worthless to the Naked Cafe. We were seated before the morning rush and ordered our food. More and more people began filling up the other tables. We notice every single one of those tables were receiving their orders. Our waiter even decided to pull the syrup from our table and give it to the newly arrived customers in back of us. By the way their order seemed to be identical to ours. Mr. Waiter tells us that our order will be out soon. Again, another table after us gets served their food. After watching more than enough to upset us,we decided to leave. Telling the cashier and two other waiters that we're leaving. They all had deer in the headlights syndrome. Our own waiter seemed to ignore us once again. He then offered to comp our meals. But a bad vibe and terrible experience would no longer be the place we would enjoy our breakfast. I personally know generations on generations here in the community. I'm also on the tribal council of a tribe of approximately 18,000. I will be sharing my experience about Naked Cafe ( Solana Beach). read more

We brought our three puppies to this dog friendly restaurant for brunch. If you don't mind sitting at this quaint spot, it's just a block away from the ocean. The pros are a fantastic location next to Fletcher Cove, great service, and edible food. The cons are the bathroom, menus etc... were dirty, and the food was not good, just edible. I had the Welcome plate without toast. It said it came with tomatoes and green onion. I think I had two cherry tomatoes in my potatoes and a 3" piece of green onion on the side. The potatoes were partially burned and chewy, and way oversalted. The scrambled eggs were fine. If I come back it will be for a drink and a view. read more

I've always walked past here and noticed how crazy busy it was. I thought that it was only a place for groups & if I were to come solo I'd be taking up a potential table. But I went yesterday with a friend and noticed that there were solo, doubles, tables of 4, and beyond. They have outdoor and indoor! I think next time I would sit indoor since the food was a little cold by the time it reached us outside. Also the table was slanted so you could only put water glass on one side. The prices are SUPER fair!! Esp with a "beach" view? It's seriously amazing. I would highly recommend ordering a smoothie and something from their pancake menu! Skip the Rosemary Potatoes ($4) because they aren't like your usual breakfast potatoes. They are very mushy and clustered. It looked like a log of semi mashed potatoes. The rosemary came through, but the texture was sooo off! I ordered the Banana Blackberry Pancake (just one, $5.50) because in the photos it was massive and I know I'd waste the other two pancakes. It was so delicious. I loved the taste of the warmed banana slices. The blackberry was tart and seedy which is actually a great paring with the banana. The plate was beautifully decorated and I was given a half slice of strawberry as well. There is a tray of condiments on the table: ketchup, salt & pepper, maple syrup, and hot sauce! My friend had the $7 Blackberry Banana Smoothie-- eyes lit up with delight while sipping it. It was delicious, cold, and creamy. Also ordered the $16.50 Steak Tenderloin Hash, it came out kind of cold sadly. The steak...had seen better days for sure. It had eggs, rosemary potatoes, and toast as well. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. I think it would be best to order something else from the menu (big menu!). Although I would love to see a banana chocolate chip pancake available. That would be so classic. Anyways, the price for all was ~$33-35! For having brunch for two on the beachside this price is super good! I will definitely be coming back. read more

Met a friend here today for lunch, our first time at Naked Cafe. I didn't think we'd find parking on a Saturday at the beach, but it was fine, we both found street parking easily. Amazing chai lattes, and the food was excellent. Lots of choices, and felt healthy. The view was amazing, as it's right across from Fletcher's Cove beach. Also, Jayden was our server and he was awesome.  If you go, ask to sit in his section and he will take great care of you! We will be back for sure. read more

Well, colossal traffic today on the 5 - it took me 3x the normal amount to get there, and my family decided after 45 mins to make a uturn because they weren't moving. There was in fact no wait and they would have held a table for me -and they felt bad that my family never came! I ordered a Moroccan mint to go and they threw in a giant warm chunk of pumpkin chocolate bread for free to take with me. I'm bummed that my family wasn't able to get there, but we'll go again. Had a great brunch catching up with friends here. There's a smallish indoor area, and a larger patio, right near both the beach and the center of Solana. Parking is plentiful on the street. We all got various tea lattes and/or mimosas of various flavors. All delicious. The Sunshine Latte was a bit more watery than I'd anticipated, but a great flavor. The coconut French toast was a standout, and the carrot zucchini bread too. The portions aren't huge and they're focused on healthier ingredients, and still we all left more than satisfied. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, and we were able to easily split the bill by item because they use one of the portable card reader machines. Certainly recommend for smaller groups.
