The Pizza gave me a Borderline religious experience. I have never tasted a pizza that even compares to the Pizza at this bar. I have been all over the place and tried many pizza's claiming to be the best and not a single one holds a candle to the pizza here. I downloaded Yelp for the sole purpose of telling everyone about this pizza. I cannot stress this enough, Harry's Bar is amazing. The crust is firm and supports the piles of meat and cheese on this bad boy. it's a deep dish, which in my experience tends to get soggy in the center. The cheese doesn't slide off with the first bite, which also happens so often with most pizza's. Not Harry's. Never Harry's, Its perfect. 1000/10 read more

Harry's is quite possibly the last non-douchy bar on Capitol Hill. I'm almost afraid to write this review and advertise it as such, in worries that it'll go the way of the Canterbury (RIP) and such. Still, I can't help but sing its praises. As the weather turned, and the sportsball season got underway, I was in need of a new local location to catch the Seahawks games. I was reminded that a couple of friends, visiting from out of town, had stopped in to Harry's while waiting for me to get off of work and had raved about the bartenders, the strong drinks and the gluten-free pizza. Considering that it's four blocks from my flat - well, I was sold. I tried it out for one game, and I've been hooked ever since. The bartenders are indeed awesome, as is the rest of the staff. Even Harry hangs out to watch the Seahawks with the regulars on game days. Comfortable giant booths and plenty of tables in the back means there's not a bad seat in the house. The entire menu is available from Olympic Pizza next door, and there's always a cider on tap. The aforementioned gluten-free pizza is killer, as are the salads - simple, basic, but tasty. (Make sure to order yours light on the cheese - the kitchen adores their cheese here with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. You've been warned.) My only gripe is about the gluten-free pasta options - $15 for a bowl of gf spaghetti with your choice of sauce? Lame! The regular pasta options are plentiful and delicious, as is the gluten-free pizza selection. I'd love to see the same treatment be extended to the gf pasta as well. Moreover, Harry's might be the last bar on Capitol Hill where you can come in late on a Friday night and still manage to find a seat, and you don't need to elbow bros three-deep at the bar to get a drink. The regulars and bar staff truly make this joint a neighborhood bar, and I truly hope it stays that way for a long while yet. read more

Not sure how I'm able to type this review on the account that I'm so ridiculously full. Harry's has that "old school" vibe where the decor really hasn't changed in years, but they don't care. But don't sleep on this place because it's the real deal. Portion sizes are HUGE, and the prices are on the cheaper end which makes this place even more irresistible to me. Want a drink while you eat your weight in pasta? Well, their bar that's adjacent serves up strong drinks at a reasonable price as well. I opted for the Chicken Parmesan on the dinner menu, and it came with a massive salad and bread-sticks. For $16, you can't get much better than this deal. Side note, I can eat a lot. But even this was way too much for me to finish. The service was friendly and quick, and the food was great, so you can't ask for much more. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area! read more

We tried three drinks: el Diablo, mojito and caipirinhas but neither was good at all! One of the drinks was so bad that we sent it back and they still charged us for it. Of all the spaces in Seattle currently open, Harry's is my favorite bar. It is one of the few locations I feel safe coming to in these Covid times. They have plenty of seating, including a brilliant outdoor seating arrangement. The drinks are amazing, William is a master mixologist. Everyone here is friendly and they excel at making me feel welcome. They are connected to Olympia Pizza and the food is amazing. The shrimp salad was a delight! Damn good food, drinks, service and ambiance. Any bar with couches, tv, and fireplace has got my number. We stopped in for happy hour, and were thrilled with our ten buck, three topping pizza. OMG, was it good and tasty! That's a deal and a steal. Mr B had a happy hour martini, and I had a $10 Ginger lemon drop that was delicious. It had real flecks of grated ginger! Yum!! This is a nice, clean bar. The decor is lovely. Beautiful woodwork on the actual bar. Big leather couches in the front. This is a nice place for a date or small party, or just food and drinks with friends. The food is pretty good. The salads are huge, and I'm partial to the mini pizza, that comes with three toppings for $10. The bartender is always friendly and makes a killer Manhattan, which is also part of the happy hour menu. read more

This is a very solid 3 stars. I feel the need to state the caveat that I live in Chicago, which is pizza heaven so I think I have a higher bar than most but I would recommend this place for sure. Four of us arrived around 11am for lunch. We opted to sit in the bar where the fun decor was. The booths are quite cozy. Austin was our server and he is five stars all day. If you go, try to ask for him. I started with an Almond Joy before switching to wine and the Almond Joy was super yummy. It tasted (surprise, surprise) like an Almond Joy. We started with the hummus, which was surprisingly good for a pizza place. It has three different hummuses (hummi?) with pita bread. All were solid. We tried one gluten free pizza and one regular. I'm not gluten free (at all) but my friend is so we all thought it would be a good opportunity to try it. The gluten free crust was legit better than most pizza crusts. The crust on the regular though was out-freakin-standing. We got the gluten free Olympia Special and the regular House Special. To all of our surprise, we all preferred the Olympia. That being said, the sausage was something special. My biggest issue was that there was wayyyy too much in the way of toppings on these pizzas. We took about half of the House home and the box literally weighed more than a deep dish. The ingredients are so good but everything is just overwhelming each other. I think they have a good thing here but perhaps a little restraint would make it even better and allow the individual components to shine. Now, if you are all about eating so much you need to roll home, this is your jam. Overall, above average pizza that just has a bit too much going on. read more

I have been here for lunch on a few occasions and I cannot complain. The pizzas were so incredible, that I ate so much that the rest of the party had to order more, one time. The sandwiches are sent from heaven. The service was very good. 2 servers kept helping us and we were very satisfied. The servers are very good looking too. So.... Ha. I have been here alone too and everything above still stands. Now, it is not cheap, but, add in the food and service, you cannot complain. Drink in your car before hand, eh? No place has adjusted better during the pandemic than this place. They also have delicious food (especially their pizzas), and the bartenders are full of energy as they serve you. If you're missing going out to restaurants during the pandemic, give this place a shot. This has been a regular spot for the past few years. The bar is large, clean, and has a number of booths so if you're out with 5 or 6 of your friends you can actually all sit down together. I've found the service to be consistently good, the servers friendly, and the portions gut achingly generous. First off - you'll never find this place on Yelp because Yelp has it mislabled as "The Bar" - when the actual name is now "Harry's Bar". Regardless, it's the space right next to Olympia Pizza on 15th in Capitol Hill where Sonic Boom records used to be (adjacent the Walgreens). I've always liked this space, but sadly I seem to forget about it in the sea of more "interesting" options up and down 15th. But went in with my wife for a post dinner drink recently and was reminded how nice it is just to have a regular _bar_ on 15th that's not divey nor upscale and populated but not so much so you can't hear yourself think. Plenty of drink selections, the bar itself is huge, and there's tons of seating from the front to back (tables, booths, etc). You can get anything from the Olympia Pizza menu (pizza, salads, sandwiches, some appetizers, etc) which is nice, although it's not like it's super gourmet (if you expected that, you are being silly). Definitely nice to have so many options on 15th and Harry's Bar is a great addition to that list of drinking establishments. read more

I love, love, love the swag lamps and bar back. The bar back is just freaking impressive. If you were a fan of deadwood you might like going here sitting at the bar and ordering a whiskey. Sure its nicer then Al's place and nobody is going to get gutted while you drink. Sure its not all wild west but there is just something about that bar back that has a bit of wild west feel to it. The Bar is actually an extension of Olympia Pizza. They took over where Sonic Boom use to be and they made the place look great! I will say I enjoy fresh squeezed grapefruit in my greyhounds and while they are saying its fresh squeezed I know its not or they pre squeeze it. My advice if you are squeezing your juices put it on the bar for everyone to see. Show off how awesome and Fresh you are. I am not a big fan of the giant sports bar plasma screen TV, it stands out like a soar thumb with the rest of the decorum. I am a fan of the local art up front. They have big comfortable booths. The music is fun mellow and comfortable for chatting. Looks like the age range will be sweeping from 20 to 50. A nice mix of locals. Right now they say they have wifi but you need a code. I will be frequenting here to see how they develop. Looks like an amazing and fresh addition to Capitol Hill. Looking forward to going out to the Bar. read more

As others have noted, The Bar is for suresies the best bar on 15th. It lacks the Eastside-in-Seattle feeling of Smith, is never overcrowded, is dark and sexy and cool without being creepy (there's no, like, snake behind the bar or anything?), and everyone who works there is an A+ sweetie. There's outdoor seating for the four or five days a year Seattle earns such stuff, and for the rest of the time there's a good mix of small tables, big high-backed booths, and stools next to a huge, impressive, and truly lovely bar. The pizza from next door is good (but not great), the drinks are strong and/or cheap, and for some reason I can't remember what the music is like in here, which probably means it's at best good and at least unintrusive. They have two TVs and though one of them is usually on sports, the other one always seems to be on a nature show or weird 80s movie or something else that's sort of cool to stare at if you're bored. Now that I live at the SU end of 14th, this is the bar I usually want to go to. You can come, too; there's plenty of room. read more

The Bar is probably my favorite bar on 15th. It's not as loud as some of the other spots, and the food from next door at Olympia Pizza III is top-notch. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, with comfy booths all around. The ornate old school wood bar is absolutely gorgeous. There is a decent amount of room here - I spent a birthday here two years ago, and there was plenty of space for my group of hooligans. The bartenders are quite skilled, especially William, who is every bit of a gentleman as he is a mixologist. This has been a nice addition to the neighborhood spots on 15th. Bartenders are nice, prices are reasonable, good food from next door. There are a few outdoor spots which are great during summer. The seating options inside range from a few soft seats in front to plentiful bar seats, tables & a few booths. Great place to pop in if you are running errands on 15th & "need" a beverage or snack! I know I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza from next door (Olympia Pizza & Spaghetti House III), but if we're being honest I don't entirely remember all the flavors. It's no ones fault exactly, but the bartender made the best Hot Toddy and I couldn't have just one. Technically it's their Maker's Toddy and I strongly recommend it, especially on a typical, drizzly Seattle day. Is a drink really enough for 5 stars? Maybe not, but there's more. The atmosphere is really what sold this place for me. It was comfy with couch seating when you first walk in next to a "fireplace". It provides the space to relax after a long day and the music went a long way to helping me unwind. With upbeat classics like Brick House how can you go wrong? Yeah, I like this place. This bar is a part of and adjacent to Olympic Pizza -- but it's a seperate room from the pizza joint which is good. What you're not going to find here are soccer moms and dads with their kids running around the place -- that's what I think of when I think of a "pizza joint". God, I despise that! Don't you? Why can't "those people" stay in Redmond and Issaquah? But I digress. This is a bar! The actual "bar" - the wood bar that is behind the bartender -- is really spectacular. I think it's an original piece from the old days. Beautifully-etched wood. I've been here twice at the time of this writing and received great service from the bartenders and cocktail servers. Harry's Bar in a word: Reliable. Food until 1:00am every night. Tons of seating, much of it very private, so it never feels crowded, even when it is. A quick, capable crew of folks who are always on the ball. A sheltered cove of steady, quiet comfort surrounded by a sea of change. My only complaint? I like the Bar, especially on the weekends as it's fairly quiet and relaxing. Far away from "amateur night" elsewhere on the hill. Great relaxed atmosphere to catch up with friends. The Bar features a resplendent dark wood interior with the beautiful wood bar from the former historic legend J&M Card room and Cafe est. 1889. So glad to see that impressive piece still in use and available for public admiration. Oly, Guinness, Mannys, Blue Moon and more, on tap. Nice deep wood booths. It's fun to remember digging through the "S" vinyl section from where I was sitting at the bar, back when it was Sonic Boom. But now there is the smell of pizza and usually a campy film or two on the televisions. read more

Beautiful wood bar in a narrow space that is very cozy. This is a great neighborhood hang out for a casual beer but isn't a place I ever think to go to with a group of people out on a weekend evening. (That isn't a bad thing.) It's a nice intimate vibe and the bartenders are always friendly. Great selection of beer on tap -- they carry Lucille there which is one of my favorites so always gets higher ratings in my book. Olympia Pizza is attached to this place so it's great for pizza and beer. I come here for Monday Night Football games sometimes too since they have a few TV's. read more

I love the simple fact that it is called 'The Bar.' 'Hey, I'll meet you at The Bar' 'Which bar?' 'THE Bar' It's like [Tom's] Restaurant in Seinfeld, but better because it's in Seattle! They're connected(?) to Olympia Pizza next door, which makes it pretty easy to find. We came here for my birthday last night, achieving the seemingly impossible goal of a chill Friday night in Capitol Hill. Part of the group arrived and grabbed a booth, but when the rest of us trickled in it got a little crowded. Luckily the front area with couches cleared up right around then so our wonderful bartender William moved us over. William was super accommodating and patient with us, checking in every so often to make sure we had the drinks and water we wanted. It was nice and quiet enough to make conversation, a rarity in Cap Hill. I'm really bad at shots, but the pineapple upside down cake shot that my friend got me was pretty good (in the three attempts it took for me to down it) and my vodka pineapple was awesome... apparently I was in a pretty tropical mood! It was a pretty good experience overall-- I liked the atmosphere and William was great-- he even stopped by to take pictures for us! I'll definitely be back :) read more

So this place had a few things going against it for me. First of all, I asked myself "Does Capitol Hill seriously need another bar on 15th?" And then there was the whole creepy element of wondering if I was going to feel like I was drinking in Sonic Boom. Also, I love Olympia Pizza but some of my friends don't, so I was wary of taking them here. I obviously had my doubts, but.... I have to say -- this place is my absolute, number one favorite neighborhood bar. The service has always been flawless and incredible. "Can I order a pizza from next door?" "Sure, what can I get you." Always friendly, always quick, and super nice. The beers on tap are great, you can watch sports if you want and ignore the large TV if you want, and I have seen the staff accommodate big groups in the back while managing the customers at the bar. I have had apps at the bar and a full meal at the bar. Both tasted great. There's also lots of seating in the front window area that make it a great place to hang with friends. I just wish I could go there every night and not end up gaining 100 lbs. read more

Here vacationing in Seattle on Capitol Hill. Tonight is our last night here and we decided to walk to a local place. Happens to be a night where the Seahawks are playing so we also get to enjoy the flavor of the local community. This is going to be a great night. We ordered the panchetta Penne Pasta. They did it special for us substitute a marinara instead of a cream sauce. Their olive tapanade was delicious and freshly made. Drinks were delicious and service was great. We are not sports fanatics and let our server know it was OK to take care of his customers. Not a problem at all - he still took great care of us! This is a very relaxing and chill bar. I was surprised to see that it wasn't too busy on a Friday night. We walked in and they have booths lining the left wall of the establishment, while bar seating is to the right, and comfortable couches and such up near the door for larger parties. The Bar is connected to a pizza place - Olympia Pizza? - through the interior and The Bar provided us menus in case we wanted to order from there. Our server was great and they had a television playing in the background. Nothing else seemed to be happening in that part of the neighborhood so I probably wouldn't come here just to come...but it's a nice option if you're already in or around the area. read more

Been on the restaurant side a few times and never been disappointed. Hit the bar side last night for the first time. Continue to not be disappointed. nice place. courteous staff. Definitely not a sports bar since Ice Skating was on one tv and Scrooged was on the other. Which is fine with me. Decent beer range with an ok happy hour. The standout here is the sheer quantity of food. The pizza is good and very dense and topping intensive. Usually the personal pizza is half a meal. I made 2 out of the medium. the pasta dishes are usually good for 2 sittings also. Got a sandwich for the first time last night and it was a third larger than usual dinner sandwiches and tasty. also comes with a salad that is mounded up with mozarella and black olives to the point where its hard to finish or a healthy sized bowl of minnestroni soup. My sole very tiny complaint is that they should sub that for Italian Wedding in general. But overall a good spot that wasn't too packed. Great dinner options and good for a few drinks too. Very dark, romantic location. Think: The kind of place you would see in a stereotypical Italian movie where some extra large mobster is chowing down a plate of spaghetti while a beautiful lady sits across the table from him. Good cocktails, with a creative list of drinks that have quality ingredients. The food is not impressive. The salad I got was huge (and it was the half-sized) but the ingredients were basically cafeteria style. My fiance got manacotti, but didn't rave about it. I've been here twice and both times I've been treated spectacularly well! The first time we came here was on a reconnaissance mission to check it out to see if it would accommodate a birthday party we were throwing. We met William, the bartender, and Harry, the owner. They assured us they would take care of us for the birthday party and even said we could bring cake in to celebrate. The birthday girl and I both had ONE drink that night and came home feeling pretty toasty. Strong. So we came back last night for her birthday party. They accommodated about 20 of us. When my friend walked up to the bar, the owner was sitting outside and started singing happy birthday to her and he gave her a free drink for her birthday. Our new friend, William, even came in although he wasn't working, and came over to wish her happy birthday and give us all hugs and eat some cake. It was all a good time. The drinks here are pretty strong. The service/people are so friendly and nice. And the bar is gorgeous. We've decided we kind of love this place and will be coming back here regularly. read more

My favorite neighborhood bar for the following reasons: 1) nice, friendly staff who remember you 2) food and drink happy hour 3) big, comfy booths and stylish decor 4) huge salads and gluten free crust 5) chill, relaxing atmosphere I don't eat pizza often and when I do I usually go somewhere else. Also you do end up smelling like pizza when you leave. But other than that, The Bar is by far my favorite place on 15th to kill time on my computer in the early afternoon (free wi-fi), grab a drink at the bar on my way to a show, meet up with friends for happy hour, or end a long night of partying down the street. read more

Minus one star for the terrible name; simply being "The Bar" makes it a challenge to convey which establishment you are talking about. Beautifully styled interior with big comfy booths. Buzzing, but not too crowded. Good for small groups, though the service can be a bit slow. I also appreciate that when I was on antibiotics and couldn't drink, they made delicious Italian sodas for me. The food is from next door at the Olympia Pizza house, so you won't be made poor or left hungry from some small plate crap, the bar snacks are big and cheese laden. At my last visit, it was a challenge for two people to finish the mini pizza, given the 2 inches of cheese on the thing. read more
